“Where’s Anthea ? “Violet asked, coming into the kitchen. I had been pouring over all these books and diaries all day. And most of it didn’t make sense. It was like the ramblings of a crazy person half of the time. ” No idea I haven’t seen her since she disappeared with Shira this morning ” I looked up at the clock on the wall and saw it was almost five. Violet started getting food out of the fridge and looking through all of the cupboards. ” What you doing ? “I asked her and she popped her head up out of the cupboard. ” I’m going to make us all food ” she said like I was dumb. ” Why not just go eat. where the rest of them are, someone said it was chilli or something tonight ” she pulled a face.

” I don’t like chili, plus we have all this to go through, right ? The quicker we do, the quicker we go home ” she said. ” Still not feeling it here huh ? “I asked. She huffed and stood up a pan in her hands. ” The people are all lovely and when I’m not overthinking everything, this place is wonderful. One of the Faye took me to the beach today. We went snorkeling and it was amazing. Peter dived down so deep and picked me this most gorgeous shell off of the ocean floor. But then I don’t know there are these moments when you catch them looking at others , almost like they are worried. Once all of this is over , and there isn’t this looming unknown over us. I think I would love to come back. I think it is just everyone being so on edge , us turning up here. Yalan the Faye we went swimming with said the loss of Sianna was massive for them here , and her wolf essence, being back, must mean something big. I think they have been cut off from the rest of the world for so long and kept safe from danger that now it freaks them out. “

She started loading lots of what looked like chicken thighs into a pan. I wondered how they got so much fresh food here all the time. A weird thing to wonder when the paragraph I had just been reading seemed so important. ” You look so much like mum and sound like her yano ? “I smiled at her. She glanced up and smiled ” Mum is beautiful and awesome , so thanks for the compliment, Enzo. ” I laughed and looked back down and re-read the paragraph.

Things are getting a little fuzzy , I feel like I need to start writing all of this down. I woke up this morning with my body sore and exhausted. I even had a huge bruise on my leg. I felt like I had been in a fight. But yet, as far as I am aware, I slept all night. I asked Rion if I had left during the night and he said no. He woke up around one or two and I was still sound asleep in bed by him. I have been snappy and rude to my family. I don’t feel right. I went to my peaceful place and drew some b***d. I cast a spell on it, checking my b***d for disease or impurities . The b***d turned black. Dark magic. Suddenly the dreams I had been having made sense. These were not my ordinary premonitions. Dark shadowy creatures stood in a ring of fire , I couldn’t see them or hear them properly. But the flames would ignite and then they’d be gone. All my research tells me it’s warlocks , but my dreams point me to whatever these creatures are. I had never seen or heard of anything like them. I needed help , I needed to reach out and ask for help. I feel like i’m losing control. Rion is trying his best , but I think he sees me as untouchable. They all do. They think I will figure this all out like I always have.

The door opens and Peter walks in. He sat beside me and picked up a book off of the table. ” OK, let’s get to some more studying. Which books have you read ? ” I pointed to the pile I had gone through. And he nods, “Find anything yet ? ” I nod and look back down. ” Yea, a few things, anything I thought was helpful I have put on the sofas. They could be rubbish. f**k knows how are we supposed to know what is useful when we have no clue what we are doing ?” I huffed and slammed the book closed , looking back up at the clock. ” Where the f**k is Anthea ? “I snapped and Peter looked at me. ” She is down at the fire pit thing talking to Rion ” I shot a look at him and stood up. ” She is back from wherever she has been and didn’t think to come check in so I knew she was OK ” I fumed. Peter laughed behind me , which stopped me in my tracks. ” Yea , I am sure that is the reason and not that I said she was with Rion “. I rolled my eyes at him and chose not to bite.

As I was stomping down the path she stepped into it and blocked it. Willow smiled up at me, flirtatious. ” Don’t even think about it , not interested never will be ” I snapped and went to dodge around her but she side stepped and blocked me again. She was pouting up at me ” I just want us to take a walk and chat , that is all. No ill intentions here on my behalf. Everyone here is basically ignoring my existence , they do not see that potentially I could be of help ” she grinned. ” You tried to split up a mated couple , from what Violet said. What did you think they would do? Throw you f*****g parade? ” She laughed. Her eyes lit up with joy. ” Nope not really , I expected this reception. But the council chose me to come here for a reason “, she insisted.

” To spy ? ” she shook her head. ” Nope, to help. I have been working on the case of Sianna since it happened. I am the most clued up from the council. When she disappeared it hurt the council deeply. ” I huffed a laugh. ” Why because they couldn’t use her as a lackey for her powers anymore. Your strongest allies are gone. That is why they are now collecting other gifted shifters , to make up for her being gone. Because let’s face it , from what I hear. She was powerful , but a good guy. So, if there is a good guy so powerful, could there be a bad guy to match ? Sianna could have wiped the council out, couldn’t she have ? ” her face turns to pissed off . But before anger , I saw all the truth I needed. ” Thought so , so if an evil comes just as equally matched as Sianna. The council are now preparing. They are f*****g scared. Are the gifted imprisoned there ? Or are they there at their own will ? “.

She stuck her chin up defensively. “You’re not that f*****g hot dickhead ” she snapped and stomped off back towards the house she was staying at. I shook my head at her retreating figure. Then I carried on making my way down. The closer I got, I could hear voices, and I could easily pick out hers. She was laughing. I f*****g loved that laugh. It was like sweet music. As I rounded the corner, I saw her, standing beside him. Her hand was on his arm as he smiled down at her. Devon and Violet were also there, smiling and laughing. She reached up and put her arms around his neck and hugged him. And I watched as his arms snaked around her waist and pulled her closer.

I watched on with my b***d boiling with jealousy, as they all looked like a happy f*****g family. My best friend stood there too, who had been as useful as a rusty nail since we got here, so loved up. His mating is so uncomplicated , after leaving Rions house, he hadn’t offered to come help look through the boxes or anything. Rion said he would come help , but I had refused. I don’t want his perspective ,I wanted to read Sianna’s and then go from what he knew. Devon and Violet had taken off somewhere. It seemed everyone was enjoying this island bar me. Well expect at the watrefall. But everyone was taking off all of the time.

Devon looked up and saw me watching. His smile dropped off of his face. But the others hadn’t seen me there. Gritting my teeth, I turned and walked back. I couldn’t keep barging in , this was what she needed to do. I couldn’t block every interaction , no matter how much I wanted to. Going back to the house, I grabbed a few more books and headed up stairs. Abi and Peter must have picked up on my mood because they didn’t say a thing.

I trapped myself in that room the rest of the night reading. Sianna’s scribbles , Rions scribbles after she had gone. I even read mythical books they had gotten based on the warlocks. I felt like I was reading but not really taking anything in. All I had was images of what they could be doing. I searched our link waiting for her to feel pleasure. But she just felt happy , whatever she was doing was making her happy. But not in pleasure. I wonder if she could feel my raging agitation and jealousy ? Like some damsel in distress, I was here waiting for her to come in the bedroom and assure me everything was OK. f**k that , I was the alpha of my own pack soon. Going downstairs, I went around the back of the house and shifted. Let my wolf burn off the feelings I was having. I fully stepped back and let him do his thing. Why had I been the only person studying all day? Even Peter and mysister had broken off to go have some fun. f**k that I was no lap dog , and obedient.
