Rejected, Broken And Forgotten -
Chapter 104
Third Person’s POV
Paris and Walker are camping out in the wilderness. They need time alone. They had little time alone as the wolves were always around them. Many packs have moved into the Kingdom, but many others will return home now that the danger is gone. The wolves love their King and Queen and are reluctant to leave them, but they must return to their packs and protect their children and the older wolves. There are always dangers in this world, and everyone knows that any pack without warriors is always at risk of being attacked by rogues or other creatures that are not friends with the werewolves. There are still evil vampires in the world that did not come to help Mikhail. They are busy with their agendas, but as long as they do not bother humans or the wolves, the wolves will leave them alone.
Besides, the original family and their mates are friends with the werewolves, and the vampires do not want to piss off Luca, as everyone knows he is the strongest of the vampires and has the biggest vampire Kingdom in the world. Luca became the King of Vampires after his father’s death, and he and his Kingdom are wealthy and powerful. They can also walk in daylight, something the evil vampires can not do. They are terrified of Luca and his Kingdom. These evil vampires try to stay under the radar.
Paris looks at her mate, and she smiles. If someone told her a year ago, she would be sitting on the land of the Cloverfield pack with her mate and two horses. She would have laughed. Paris is happy to be alone with her mate, where only the stars and the moon are their roofs, and the ground is their bed. The crickets are the only thing providing them with music, as nature is quiet around them. Paris had her first heat, and Walker understood the pain she was going through and helped her out of her misery. Paris is sure they will have a pup soon. Both she and Walker do not care if it is a boy or a girl as long as their child is healthy. Paris knows she is part of a twin and might have twins, but she hopes she does not. One pup will be a handful already.
“What are you thinking about?” Walker asks Paris.
“About us and the possibility that we are going to have pups. You know I am part of a twin, and we can have one or more pups,” Paris says. She laughs as she sees Walker’s face.
“Well, we have a lot of people that will gladly help us with the pups,” Walker says.
“I hope it is only one so we can spend more time with our baby. I would love to raise our children and remind them about our past, so they can tell their children and not make the same mistakes the wolves made over decades. I feel as strong as Jeff about it, but maybe Jeff will still be there to help the future wolves,” Paris says. Jeff wants to tell them in person that his curse has been lifted and does not want to mind-link them with the good news.
“Well, we will see. I hope for Jeff’s sake that the Moon Goddess will forgive him and she will lift the curse,” Walker says.
“I know. I am being selfish in wanting Jeff to live forever so he can look after our future generations. I hope Jeff is forgiven for his past, he and Elena can live together, and Jeff can have pups with Elena. They love each other, and I can see Jeff wants a family. I think he deserved it for serving the werewolves for so long,” Paris says. She feels guilty even thinking about poor Jeff having to live forever to look after future generations. The Moon Goddess will find a way to help them if they need help. She is their protector and will never forsake her children.
“Well, honey, I would also like to know the future generations are in good hands, but we will have to trust the Moon Goddess with it,” Walker says.
“Yes, I know. Anyway, enough worrying about the future. Let us live in the moment and enjoy the peace while it lasts,” Paris says.
“Yeah, we have done our share of fighting, but I have a feeling the other royals are not too happy about us being King and Queen, and they will not go down quietly,” Walker says. London’s pups are already almost a year old. The little wolf is a handful, and they only saw him once when they were back in the Kingdom. London did not look happy with him not getting a title as he is part of the royal family, but they had not even thought about it as they were fighting Mikhail and sorting out the thing after defeating him. Walker sighs. Even though London is a good person, he knows that she is still one of the old royals, and they will always feel entitled. They will always feel cheated out of their position as King or Queen. He wonders how his mother will feel about not having a title yet. They will ask Jeff about all this title s**t and how they are supposed to handle it. Walker and Paris do not know much about the royal setup and are not too worried about it, as the title of King and Queen has not changed them, and they do not even like being called that.
“We will have to go back to the packhouse tomorrow. We need to get back to the Kingdom as there are many things we need to sort out. We will have Jeff sort out the bloody title s**t, and we will only worry about the financial side for now. We must also talk to Luca and see how he handles his Kingdom. We have all been thrown into the deep side of the pool, and we will have to learn to swim,” Paris says.
“I know, babe. I wish we could stay here forever and enjoy the simple life as an Alpha and Luna of the Cloverfield pack, but we can not. I have handed the pack to Ace, and I am sure he will run it better than I could. He loves this pack, and his history with the Cloverfield pack is better than mine. His family has been in this pack for decades. He deserves this pack,” Walker says.
“I know it will be simpler for us to run a pack, but all these wolves and their packs are linked to us, and the burden we will have to carry will be enormous, but I am sure the Moon Goddess will help us,” Paris says.
“Yeah, it is a massive task waiting for us, but I think we should let the packs run themselves, and we will only ask them to volunteer if we have to go to war. I will never make someone fight my wars like the Kings and Queens did before us,” Walker says. He and Paris feel strongly about giving wolves their freedom and will help the packs where possible. They talk almost all night about the Kingdom and everything that still needs to be done. They are tired of only thinking of everything waiting for them. The following morning, they go back to the packhouse. They have to prepare to leave for the Kingdom as they have been away too long. Jeff and Elena look happy to see them, and Paris looks at Jeff, who looks youthful and young.
“What happened to you, Jeff? You look different,” Paris asks.
“Wow, Jeff, you look great,” Walker says.
“I was waiting for you to come back so I could tell you. The Moon Goddess has lifted my curse and given me my youth back so Elena and I can have a full life together,” Jeff says. Paris hugs Jeff and smiles at him.
“I am so happy for you and Elena,” Paris says. She hugs Elena, who is one of her best friends now. She is also Paris’ advisor, as Jeff is Walker’s.
“We need to go back to the Kingdom, Jeff. There are so many things we need to sort out. The whole royal family thing is giving me headaches, and I know some old royals are not happy that we have not given them titles yet,” Walker says.
“They do not deserve titles! None of them fought with us! They are entitled to nothing, and we do not owe them anything,” Jeff says. He is angry on the spot that the old royals can even feel entitled to anything while they only used the wolves for years. They lived a privileged life while their wolves fought and died on the battlefields.
“I feel the same, but London did help us to go to the Kingdom and I feel I owe her for giving me my mate,” Paris says, holding Walker’s hand.
“You owe her nothing! Her mate is a doctor. We could have used his help on the battlefield, but she was too selfish to allow Nathan to help us. She wanted to keep her family safe while you and your mate risked your lives to keep the wolves worldwide safe! They are selfish werewolves and she was a princess once, but never did anything to help the wolves. You came and fought from the start. You fought your old pack and even got involved in a war they never fought in. You united the wolves! Queen Paris, I am telling you now that she and her offspring do not deserve any titles! Only your pups will get titles and the rest of the old royals will have to move out of the castles and start making a living for themselves. They have been selfish for long enough. She only let you come to the Kingdom to get her out of her arranged marriage! It was all for selfish reasons, as she loved Nathan and did not care about you and used you to fight her battles!” Jeff says. He looks angry.
“I agree with Jeff. Her mate is a doctor and they can make a good living for themselves and their children! You do not owe her anything, Queen Paris,” Elena says.
“Well, then, I make you the head of the court, and you sort everything out with the old royals. I do not want to deal with them. They are all going to be pissed off,” Paris says. She had enough fighting for a lifetime and she wants to live in peace with her mate and their family once they have a pup.
“Oh, I will enjoy kicking them out of the castles and we will use the other castles as packhouses for the wolfpacks,” Jeff says. He had enough of the selfish old royals that never did anything for the wolves. Well, maybe Paris’ grandmother can stay on and Walker’s mother. Paris’ grandmother did help to run the Kingdom while they were gone, but he had a feeling the old Queen would want to retire with her new mate. She only helped out because there was no one else the King and the Queen could trust enough with the running of the Kingdom while they were fighting.
“I think my grandmother wants to retire anyway. She is talking about her and her mate wanting a small cottage on the sea,” Paris says. She talked to her grandmother when they were in the Kingdom and her grandmother asked her to hurry up as she wanted to retire with her mate. She wants to be with her new mate and live in peace in the last days of her life. She also wants Paris to have pups. London does not like anyone to touch her pup and that includes her grandmother. She is very protective of the pup and will not even allow Paris to pick him up. Paris wonders why London has changed so much after she gave birth. Is it because she is jealous of Paris and Walker’s popularity among the wolves or is it because she wants to be Queen? Did Nathan have something to do with it? Paris does not know but she will find out what is going on when they return to the Kingdom.
