Chapter 109

Paris’ POV

I am looking forward to the party tonight. We have good news to share with the Kingdom as I am expecting the first prince or princess of the new Kingdom. I can not wait for the wolves to know they will have an heir to the throne. I am glad we have a little peace and can start our family. There is a knock on my office door.

“Come in,” I say, and Mariam walks in with a she-wolf I do not know.

“Hello, Queen. This is Nina, and she would like to join the Kingdom,” Mariam says. I smile at Nina, and she smiles back.

“You are truly as powerful as they say. I can feel the power radiating from you, Queen Paris,” Nina says.

“It is nice to meet you, Nina. Well, I have been fighting a lot lately, and I think my wolf grows stronger every time I fight,” I say. They tell me Nina’s story. I am surprised that she is the reason why London was so mean and bratty, but at least we know now what was going on. I am not angry as the poor she-wolf only wanted to be accepted by her mother, and she thought her father would be better for her.

“If you do not want me in your Kingdom, I will understand,” Nina says. She mistook my silence as me being angry.

“Don’t talk nonsense. It is not your fault that you grew up with dark witches who did not love you. You are more than welcome in the Kingdom. The Kingdom is for all wolves. This is your home, Nina, and I welcome you to the Kingdom. I was thinking about my past, as it was not even half as bad as yours,” I say. Nina looks happy.

“I feel like I have come home. I would have been accepted with so much love if I had known. I would have joined you long ago,” Nina says.

“Honey, no one can help who their parents are, and I am glad Elena has a sister. You can stay with us in the castle until you find your mate,” I say. I do not want this young wolf to stay alone and feel left out. She needs our love and help at the moment.

“I do not want to be a burden, Queen,” Nina says.

“You are not, you are a young lady who needs a pack, and you have much to learn from Mariam and us. In a pack or Kingdom, we look after one another, and you are now part of our Kingdom,” I say.

“You are truly a beautiful wolf inside and outside, Queen,” Nina says. There are tears in her eyes. I smile at her and tell Mariam to show Nina her room and give her clothing and everything she needs. Mariam and Nina walk out, and I can hear them talking.

“The Queen is beautiful and kind,” Nina says.

“I told you she is the best!” Mariam says. I smile as I know the wolves have our backs and will not allow anything to happen to us. I am worried about Mariam, and we need to find her first mate and her father before they can make any trouble for her. I am not concerned about the dark witches. I know their magic is not as powerful as they think, and we are protected against all kinds of magic. I know the magical creatures of the Kingdom, and our gypsy friends can handle them. I wouldn’t say I like the idea of the two wolf packs that are against us. I know they will get some other kingdoms to join them against us. I know the royals are furious with us for uniting the wolves. Most of their packs have joined us, and their kingdoms are crumbling. I am sure they want revenge as they are losing money every day. They do not have enough wolves to work for them anymore.

“Honey, we need to get ready for our party tonight,” Walker says from the door.

“I can not wait to tell the wolves, honey,” I say. As we walk to our room, I tell him everything about Nina. He looks concerned. I know Walker is worried about our pup and Miriam and Jonathan.

“We must find and destroy them before they can get more help from the other royals. I know we do not like to kill wolves, but if they threaten our Kingdom and our people, we need to take them out,” Walker says.

“I know, but let us first enjoy tonight with the wolves of our Kingdom,” I say.

“King, Queen! Ace and his pack have arrived. They are in time for the party. I am glad we told them about the party three days ago. I know you want them to be here as they are very close to you,” Jonathan says before we can walk into our room.

“Great! I am so glad the Cloverfield pack can be here,” I say.

“Well, I guess I still may not know what we are celebrating?” Jonathan asks.

“Nice try! You will have to wait like the rest of the wolves,” I laugh.

“Damn, I was hoping you would tell me before the party so I do not look too surprised,” Jonathan says.

“Hahaha, you are curious, and that is all,” Walker says. We walk into our room before he can ask us again. We get ready for the party, and Walker looks handsome in his black suit. I am wearing a blue ballgown with a diamond necklace, earrings, and a bracelet. There is a knock on our door, and when we open the door, Jeff is standing outside the door with two crowns in his hand.

“No way! I am not wearing that,” I say.

“It belonged to King Frederick and Queen Katherine. They were the first to lead the wolves out of danger, and the Moon Goddess gave them these crowns. Please, do it for me, Queen Paris, and King Walker,” Jeff says. I must admit the crowns do not look too heavy and big and are beautiful.

“Fine, we will do it for you,” I say. Jeff puts the crowns on our heads, and I must admit I feel powerful with the crown on.

“Where did you find it, Jeff?” Walker asks.

“When King Frederick died, he asked for me. He asked me to take his crown and keep it safe as the Moon Goddess gave it to him, and only the King that saves the wolves again can wear it—the same with Katherine. I do not know where and when the Moon Goddess gave them the crowns, but they both asked me to hide them until the wolves were united. I took them and hid them in a place only I knew of. The crowns will remain in the family and worn by the future Kings and Queens while the Kingdom stays united. We do not know what will happen in the future, but we do know that the Moon Goddess will keep the crowns safe should something happen to the Kingdom in the future,” Jeff says. We walk with Jeff outside, and all the wolves are gathered around the palace. I have never seen so many wolves together. I am glad we have fires going to cook the food outside. We have all kinds of meats, and the chefs around the Kingdom have come together tonight to help us. The wolves keep quiet as they see us arriving. Ace walks towards us and smiles.

“Look at our beautiful Queen and handsome King,” Ace says. Ace is not only a powerful wolf, but also a powerful shaman. He is as magical as Mariam and Nina. Mariam told me that Nina would be as powerful as she was after her training.

“I am glad to see you, Ace. You look handsome yourself. Have you not found a mate yet?” Walker asks.

“I am not as lucky as you and Jonathan, who is whipped,” He laughs.

“Yeah, Jonathan is truly in love,” Walker laughs.

“Well, we are all waiting for your big announcement,” Ace says.

“I love my Queen, Ace, and I hope you find love soon,” Walker says as he takes my hand and leads me to the stage where Walker and I will be sitting. Ace smiles as he walks away. The wolves have gathered in front of the stage and are waiting for us to tell them what we are celebrating tonight. They stop talking as Walker, and I get up to speak to them. They all wait patiently as we stand in front of them. We can feel their love for the Kingdom and us, and we know they will never forsake us. They will stand by our side in peace and war. They are happy to be united under one King and Queen.

“Good evening, everyone. Thank you all for coming to enjoy this wonderful evening with us. As you all know, the Queen and I have an announcement tonight, but I think I will let you wait a little longer,” Walker teases the wolves.

“Oh, this is not fair! We have been waiting for days for this party, and we are not even allowed to enjoy our evening as we do not know what you want to announce, King!” Jonathan shouts.

“Hahaha, Jonathan has been trying for days to find out what we are celebrating tonight,” I say, and all the wolves laugh at Jonathan.

“I am sure he can wait a few more hours,” Walker teases. The wolves laugh again.

“I bet Jeff knows. He knows everything!” Jonathan says.

“This time, I have no idea. Sorry to disappoint you, Jonathan,” Jeff says. We have not told anyone, and I hid the fact that I was pregnant with the help of my wolf. Not even magical creatures can tell what our secret is.

“Stop teasing us and tell us why we are here, King,” Mariam says. She is also curious why we are all gathered here tonight.

“I know you are curious why we are here, so I am teasing you. We are gathered here tonight to announce … Wait, I can see some are not interested in what we are about to announce,” Walker teases them again. Everyone looks around, but all the wolves listen to Walker, and I smile. They hope and pray that we do not retire as King and Queen. I can hear some of them whispering to each other, and they are worried. I know Walker hears it as he is smiling.

“It is not bad news. It is good news,” Walker says.

“Then tell us, King!” Jonathan shouts. I laugh as I can see he can not hold his curiosity anymore.

“Well, I will let your Queen tell you,” Walker says.

“I am not like my King. I will not tease you all the time. We are all gathered here tonight to share our good news with you. We are expecting your first prince or princess,” I say, as I can see the wolves holding their breath.

“Wow, how did you hide it from us, Queen?” Mariam asks.

“My wolf is strong, and she helped me to protect my secret,” I answer.

“Well, I will be damned! I told Mariam I thought the Queen was pregnant, but she told me we would pick it up with our magic,” Jonathan says.

“I did not know that the Queen’s wolf is that strong,” Mariam says.

“Well, that and the fact that magic does not work on us,” I laugh. My wolf is strong, but so are other wolves, and they can sometimes pick it up when a she-wolf is pregnant. So my wolf helped me to hide my pregnancy from other wolves until we told them.

“I forgot that magic can not touch the King and Queen,” Mariam says.

The wolves are all cheering and happy about the news.

“Now that you all know, let us enjoy the rest of the night,” Walker says. He k****s me before we walk back to our chairs. The Kingdom is happy and full of joy. The gypsies are as surprised as the wolves. We invited them to join us as they are our friends and already a part of our Kingdom.
