Rejected, Broken And Forgotten -
Chapter 52
Walker’s POV
We have reached the Kingdom, and I am glad to be home. I can see the surprise on Peter’s face when he sees the modern town and the castle that the wolves had finished while we were gone. I smile, as I know, he thought we lived like savages. We are not savages, and we have adapted to the times. We may be wolves, but we are not savage. We will go to America soon to see what the hell is happening there. I am still surprised that the original vampires exist, as I always thought of them as the bogeymen humans used to scare their children with. The elders always told us about them when we were just pups, but I always thought they were not real. I thought vampires just existed and were made by one of the dark gods to punish humans for their bad behavior. I never thought there was a family of vampires that was cursed and started the population of vampires worldwide. I hope to meet them one day, as I would love to stick a bloody white oak stake through their cold hearts.
“Wow, I did not expect this. I always thought wolves lived like wild animals and that we were savages, and I really believed that the ruins were our home and that we lived like that,” Peter says.
“I am glad you see yourself as a wolf now and not as a human anymore,” Jeff smiles.
“I am a wolf, and I am damn well proud to be one,” Peter says. Jolene smiles at him and hugs him, and he hugs her back, and I can see that he is embracing his new-found life and love. Jolene takes Peter to show him around.
“King, can I talk to you for a moment?” An elderly wolf asks me.
“Sure,” I say, as I always have time for my men and will never show them away.
“I am Walter. The Queen permitted me to return to the Kingdom as King John banned me when I did not want to listen to him. I am an engineer, and I want to discuss a few ideas with you,” Walter says.
“I am sure all the generals and the Queen will want to hear your ideas, and we can go to the castle. I will call all of them, and we can discuss it,” I say.
“I would love that. I am so excited as I always tried to tell King John how to make the cities and towns safer for all of us, but he never wanted to listen to me, and I know I can help our Kingdom greatly,” Walter says. I am willing to listen to the elder wolf as we may need protection against humans, hunters, and vampires.
“Then let us not waste time so the work can start as soon as possible. I will do anything to make the Kingdom safer for all the wolves staying here,” I say, and the two of us walk to the palace.
“Okay, but King, I have to warn you, it sounds a little far-fetched, but I know I can do it as I have been working on this idea for years,” Walter says.
“Walter, I trust in you and all the people of my Kingdom. If you say, you can do it. I believe in you. I feel the Moon Goddess has a plan for this Kingdom and that you will play your part in it. I believe in you,” I say. Funny enough, I believe he was sent to us by the Moon Goddess to protect us while we fight and that we do not have to worry about our people while we fight. I am sure the Moon Goddess is sending us wolves that can help us. Even Peter was sent to us. I wonder if it is true or if I am thinking so to give myself hope for the future of the Kingdom and that of werewolves.
“I believe the Moon Goddess has a plan to help us, and you and the Queen are our biggest hope. King, I will do what I can to help you,” Walter says.
“I appreciate it, Walter. I have called the Queen and all our generals to meet us in the war room of the castle,” I say. We had created a war room with the world map in front of us. We can not protect all the werewolves worldwide, but we can help them to defend themselves. If we can get technology to help us save our cities and towns, we can help everyone in the world do the same and secretly help humans do the same. Paris and the general are waiting for Walter and me as we walk in.
“King, you called us,” Gerard says. He is Paris’ grandmother’s new mate, but he is one of our best generals, and we trust him with our lives.
“Walter is an engineer who thinks he can protect our cities and towns from humans, rogues, hunters, and vampires. I will let him explain what he has in mind,” I say. Everyone is now looking at Walter.
“Actually, I have studied more than just engineering. I have studied human technology and its weapons, and I have studied science, and I have studied many other things in my lifetime,” Walter says.
“I am impressed, Walter. I am happy you are here with us, as we can use someone like you,” Paris says.
“Queen, I am not bragging. I am saying this to explain to you my plan to protect our cities. I have developed a system that works almost like the systems humans use to defend their airspace, but it is a defense that does not work not for air defense but also for defense on the ground. It works with electricity and lacers,” Walter starts explaining what he is planning and pulls out his plans to show them all. I have no idea what he is saying, as I am a warrior, not a scientist or engineer. I can see Paris looks as confused as I do, and I do not feel so stupid anymore. The generals seem to know what Walter is talking about, as they have also studied human weapons and understand how destructive they can be. They look excited and ask Walter a lot of questions.
“I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but I will leave it in your expert hands,” Paris says.
“Yeah, we are fighters, and whatever you guys can give us to help, we will appreciate it. We will leave it in your hands,” I agree as Paris, and I walk outside. I am not worried about what they are planning as it sounds good, and they know what they are talking about. We go to Jeff’s office. Yes, Jeff and Elena have their own offices in the palace. We need to talk about going to America and sort things out. We need to know how many packs are left there. With the help of Miriam, I can now mind-link with my pack, the Cloverfield Pack, and they told me that all the smaller packs are begging them to join the Cloverfield Pack, as the packs are getting smaller, and they do not have the numbers to protect themselves anymore. I told them to take in as many packs as they could as we would have a war soon and we would need as many wolves as possible. We will have to unite all the wolfpacks in each country or on each continent to fight an enemy we have never fought before. In the past, we never had any problems with humans or vampires as they stayed away from us, and the vampires stayed away from the humans and started feeding from b***d banks. They knew we would not tolerate them using humans as feed, but if the originals get involved, we all know what is coming. Vampires will rule the world and make humans their food again. From what I understand, they are old school and believe in the warm b***d that comes from a human. We knock on Jeff’s office door, and there is a lot of shuffling. As he opens his office door, we can see Elena in the background, still pulling on her clothing.
“Sorry to interrupt the two of you, but we have things to discuss,” Paris says. I smile as I see Jeff trying to get rid of some underwear he still holds in his hand, and I pretend not to see it.
“King, Queen, what can we help you with?” Jeff asks.
“Well, we need to go to America, and we want you to arrange everything. We also want you to choose a team to go with us and one that will stay to protect the Kingdom. I did not call Jeff and Elena to the meeting of the generals with Walter as I wanted to meet them alone while the generals were busy. Well, Paris and me.
Third person’s POV
In a dark room in a basement at the main base in London, a man in a long coat with a big black hat on his head is smoking a cigarette. He knows it irritates the humans around him, but it can not do anything to him as he can not die of cancer or anything humans die of. His name is Mikhail Ivanov. He has been dead for decades, as he has no soul, and his heart is hardly beating. He looks at the general, who is coughing, and smiles. He hates humans and only sees them as food.
“Is smoking bothering you, General Smith?” He asks. He hides his face and fangs from humans and will only meet them in the dark.
“No, boss, not at all,” General Smith lies. Mikhail knows the general is lying as he can hear his heartbeat going faster, and he does not bother with it further.
“The base has moved south. There are no more wolves in the old area, and the few they caught died as they refused to eat and talk about their packs. All we know is that they say there are no more werewolf kingdoms,” General Smith says.
“How sure are they about it?” Mikhail asks.
“Very sure, and we looked at the footage of all the towns they scanned. It seems like there are no more werewolves in that area, and the few we got that died in captivity are all we have from that area,” General Smith says.
“No rogues, either?” Mikhail asks.
“They came across a mass grave of rogues, but it looks like hunters got to them,” General Smith says. Mikhail smiles. Valentino did his job well. He sent him years ago after the wolves fled to the island from the mainland, and it looks like Valentino and his men are still busy. He is sure they no longer have to worry about the old werewolf Kingdoms. A woman is sitting on Mikhail’s lap, and he is the father of the original vampires. He bites into her neck and sucks out a little of her b***d. He was cursed for living a sinful life by the Sun God, but so far, he has only lost his youngest son, Maxim, and he is not worried about losing the rest of his family. His wife, Vera, and they understood each other. She has her lovers, and he has his. In the corner stand the remaining children they have together. He knows they do not love him as he does not love them. They are cold-hearted creatures, and love is something they do not feel.
Kristina looks at her father, but although she does not feel any love for him, she feels hate. It is his fault they are living under this curse. She can never feel the k**s of the sun on her skin again. She can never walk in the warmth of the Sun God again, and she hates the life she has to live. She pretends to be happy and does whatever her father asks her, but she swears if she gets white oak stakes on the day, she will kill him and her mother. Roman, her brother, is like her, and she knows he hates their parents as much as she does. They do not see the need to use humans as food, but until they can get away from their father and the rest of their family, they are trapped and have to play the role their father wants them to play.
