Having to live in such a huge room felt so strange to me. Not only was the room huge but it was also decorated in style and in most of my favourite colours. I carefully sat on the silky queen sized bed and it sunk in, feeling so soft on my butt cheeks and definitely not like the cold, hard floor I had been made to sit and sleep on for years.

I let my body fall on the bed and the silky sheets felt like pure heaven. I closed my eyes as my body felt good, I was slowly drifting off to sleep when I heard a knock on my door.

I sat up and waited for the person to come in but they didn’t. I got up from bed and went to open the door and saw that it was Emily and with her, was a huge luggage.

“Her Highness said to bring these clothes for you.” Emily said when she saw the questioning look I had.

I gave way for her to enter the room and she did, she dropped the suitcase beside the bed. “Is there anything you need?” She questioned and I shook my head in response.

She nodded and turned to leave but on second thought, I stopped her. I signed to her that I needed a book and pen and thankfully, she understood and promised to get it for me as soon as possible.

She left and came back quickly with a book and pen. I wrote a thank you note to her and she smiled. She turned to leave once more but stopped before saying something.

“I have a feeling that you’ll do great things and it’s not just because you look like her Highness but because you seem to have a certain goodness in you and I would be honoured to be your friend.” Emily said and I smiled. I almost couldn’t believe it, someone was extending a hand of friendship to me after so long. Emily would be my first friend here and it felt amazing.

I quickly wrote to her that I would love to be her friend, she smiled once more. “Don’t forget to let me know if you need anything, I’ll always be here to help.” She said and I nodded.

Although I knew I would not be able to call out to her or anyone for that matter, I would have to make do with the help I was being offered.

She finally left my room and I went back to unraveling the contents of the luggage.

I saw all sorts of beautiful and expensive clothing that left me intrigued. Initially, I had had doubts about leaving the Crescent Moon pack but now, I’m so happy that I was banished.

Here in the Kizmet pack and in such a short period of time, I had acquired practically everything that I could ever want in life. A loving family, a good life and a friend to support me, one that wasn’t my inner wolf. In fact, I had gotten more than I bargained for and I just couldn’t express the joy I was feeling.

“I can’t believe this Evelyn, you don’t even value our friendship. After all the time we’ve spent together, you’re rating someone that you met higher than me.” Tara said sadly and I snorted.

‘Really Tara, you’re something else. Why do you always like making a mountain out of a molehill? You claim to know me so well but you clearly don’t. You should know that no one could ever be as important to me as you, you’ve supported me through thick and thin. You gave me courage and hope when all hope seemed to be lost and you’re the reason why I’ve had the zeal to fight death so many times. It’s all because of you and that’s something I’ll never forget. I’m just happy to finally make a new friend after so long but that doesn’t actually mean that I’ll just forget you, you know that I can’t.’ I explained and I felt her giggle, which quickly got me wondering what this she wolf was actually up to.

“I know.” She said simply. ‘Then why did you have to make me give that long speech of reassurance?’ I questioned, starting to get mad at her.

“Well, let’s just say that it feels refreshing to hear you profess your love for me.” She said and I frowned but smiled a minute later.

‘You know what? I would have hit you if I could, for playing such a mean prank on me.’ I told her and she apologized, knowing full well that I couldn’t really stay angry at her.

I didn’t know why but our little squabbles usually made my day, it was the only thing that kept me happy and going during my years of suffering.

I quickly picked out a red shirt and tight Jeans. The move into the palace had taken up most of the day and it was already nightfall.

I was yet to see if Ana had fully settled in and I would do that as soon as I took a bath and got dressed.

“Why do you want to wear Jeans when it’s already evening?” Tara questioned.

‘Do you have to find flaws in everything I do, eh mum?’ I teased and she rolled her eyes. “I’m sorry for caring about you.” She said and feigned being upset.

‘Quit being a drama queen,Tara. I’ve thought about this properly before deciding what to wear. I’m not just going to stay in this room for the rest of the night, I’m going to have to move around the castle and even see Ana so I feel it would be indecent for me to walk around the castle in a flimsy nightgown. I don’t want anyone getting the wrong idea of me, especially as I just got here. I’ll just finish up everything for the night and have a change of clothes before I go to bed.’ I explained and she nodded, quickly understanding the reason behind my decision.

“That’s very smart thinking.” She complimented. ‘Thanks.’ I said and dropped the clothes I had chosen on the bed.

I put the rest of the clothes back in the suitcase and zipped it back up before going to keep it inside the large wardrobe in the room.

I went to the bathroom and I was glad to see that there was a clean towel available. I quickly took off my clothes and filled up the bathtub with semi hot water. Though it’s not an event I like to remember, taking a bath in Zephyr’s bathroom had suddenly brought about my love for bathtubs. They were so much more comfortable to bathe in.

I washed my hair and wrapped it in another clean towel before wrapping a towel around my body. I drained the water from the bathtub before stepping out of the bathroom. I was surprised to see a man in my room with his back turned to me.

I instantly got myself prepared to fight, wondering what a strange man would be doing in my room at this time of night. Not being able to scream out for help had its disadvantages but I would not let that bother me right now, I would fight to the last breath if I had to.

With my heart palpitating in my chest, I carefully tiptoed to where the man stood but I guess I was not careful enough because I slipped so suddenly.

I closed my eyes, preparing myself for the pain that would course through me once my body came in contact with the cold hard floor. I tensed up, waiting for it but it never happened and I felt long arms wrap around me instead.

I opened my eyes instantly and they came in contact with one of the most gorgeous men I had ever seen.
