Chapter 93

It’s finally the day of the ball. I’m beyond excited because I have a pretty good feeling about today. I just hope that everything does go as planned and that Kayden shows up with Lucia.

Anika brings a beautiful gothic dress for me and and a leather choker necklace to complete the gothic look but I feel uncomfortable with the necklace, it looks more like a slave collar, it had the spot where a leash could be attached and I instantly realize something, this necklace isn’t just some ordinary jewelry for beautification, it’s a symbol of submission, problem to show that I already have a master.

Having to acknowledge that I’m once again somebody’s slave, angers me to no end but I just have to put up with this only for a little while longer. Hopefully, after today, it’ll all be over.

I take the accessories from Anika, pull on a fake smile and thank her. I sigh and go to the bathroom to take a bath. I soak in the bathtub for a bit before finally washing my hair and finishing up. I head back to the room and put on the dress but it’s an open back dress with strings at the back and tying the strings is difficult.

I struggle with it for a few minutes but I shiver a bit when I feel cold hands on my back. I look at the mirror in front of me and I see Prince Virgil behind me, he’s looking very handsome in a well tailored suit and he has a cute and innocent look on his face.

He takes my hands off the strings and helps me tie them instead and in the process, he purposefully caresses my back softly and I can hardly hide the blush on my cheeks.

“Done.” He said and turned me around to look at him. “You look very beautiful……. Evelyn.” He said and my eyes widened in shock. Did he actually just call my name?

“What did you just say?” I questioned, trying to make sure that it wasn’t my ears playing tricks on me. He chuckled a bit and rolled his eyes before pinching my nose gently.

“You don’t have to overreact. I finally called you by your name, just like you wanted. Evelyn.” He said it again. He actually said my name for the first time. I don’t know why but this actually gives me a sense of joy and I beam a huge smile.

“You know, I love it when you smile. You always look so gorgeous and when you’re looking this sexy, I almost want to push you up against the wall and f**k you senseless.” He said casually as if it were the most trivial thing to say.

My blush deepened, I’m really not used to being told things like this. Why are Vampires so trivial with words?

“Your genuine shyness and innocence and the fact that you pretend like my presence doesn’t affect you, those are the things that turn me on the most.” He whispered into my ear and I shivered, the hairs on the back of my neck standing up.

“I haven’t had much time for you lately dear Evelyn but I’ll remedy that very soon. Tonight after the party, is the night that I will finally take you and officially claim you as my property.” He whispered once more and licked the side of my neck, lightly brushing his fangs over my skin, leaving goosebumps in his wake. I exhaled deeply.

No, I don’t want to feel this pressure anymore. I want to pull away from his grasp but I can’t.

He chuckles again and k****s my neck softly before pulling away from me and clearing his throat.

“As delicious as you’re looking right now and as much as I want to lick and explore every single part of you, I can’t, unfortunately. The right time for our entanglement will arrive soon. But for now, we have a peace ball to attend and I’ll take pride in displaying you as my prize so I can’t have you all hot and bothered just yet.” He said with an innocent smirk and I nearly glared at me. Why is he such a tease?

“Where’s the fun in life if I don’t tease my little plaything?” He questioned and I gave him the stink eye. “No, only smiling suits you. You’d better fix your face now, smile or I’ll k**s you and make sure to get you all riled up.” He threatened with a sweet smile and I instantly knew that beneath that smile, he was dead serious.

“I’m sorry.” I said and smiled back. “Good.” He said and ruffled the hair which I had spent thirty minutes fixing.

He finally left my room and I sighed in relief. I’ve managed to dodge being touched by him this whole time but now it just seems like my luck is about to run out. Prince Virgil isn’t one to change his mind easily, he’s decided that he wants to have me tonight and this is all the more reason why my plan has to work at all costs because if it doesn’t, everything will be finished.

The severity of the situation starts slipping in and it gets me very nervous. “Please goddess Selene, make this plan work out.” I pleaded with all of my heart. I walked to my room door and opened it, I took a look at the hallway and when I saw that no one seemed to be passing by because everyone is probably in the great Hall, preparing for the ball, I sigh in relief and close my door before locking it.

I then walk to my wardrobe and open up the secret compartment in which I hid all the ingredients for the potion. I take count of all of them and I’m glad that they’re all complete. Well, all except Lucia’s hair apparently.

I brought out the page and began mixing the ingredients together, I then added King’s Cassius’s hair and the potion bubbled, I said the words to seal it and the formerly green coloured potion instantly turned red, just like wine. I smiled, seeing that I had gotten the desired results, which only meant that I had done everything right. Now I have to keep the potion safe until I can get Lucia’s hair. I cover up the potion and keep it back in the secret compartment. I go to the bathroom and wash my hands quickly.

I finally arrive at the mirror and fix my hair once more, putting it up in a neat bun before taking a deep breath and leaving the room.

To be honest, the party turned out to be more lively than I had expected. I thought that since it was a vampire ball, it would just be drab with classical dancing, boring talk and more classical dancing but the turn out of things really surprised me.

All the guests had barely arrived but there were already fun activities going on.

Prince Virgil did not let me out of his sight for one second, he always made sure I was by his side and I’m kind of glad that he did because the hungry stares that I’m getting from the male vampires around is scary. Each time they look at me lustfully, Prince Virgil becomes touchy, placing his hands around me as if to tell them that I only belonged to him. When they saw this, they would back off and instantly stop staring.

He introduced me to a few people who he claimed to be his acquaintances. Though they were Vampires, they weren’t rude at all, they were all surprisingly nice to me. Especially the female among them, she called me beautiful and said she would like to see more of me.

I also can’t help but notice that King Cassius seems happier today. He’s smiling casually for the first time and I find it a bit scary considering how bipolar he is. Only Selene knows what mood he might just change to next. Overall, I can’t deny that he looks very handsome. He’s wearing one of his fearsome looking attires with the skull insignia but this time around his suit isn’t black but red. And the colour further brings out the beauty of his eyes.

It’s obvious that most, if not all of the vampire females here are drooling over him but he doesn’t even seem to give a f**k about any of them.

A guard soon appears and announces the arrival of the Alpha of the Silver Moon pack and his entourage. Everyone’s attention is Instantly directed towards the entrance and trumpets sound as they walk into the Hall.

I carefully look through the people that come in to see if I can spot Kayden but all the people soon come in and I don’t see Kayden. Fear instantly grips my heart. If Kayden isn’t here then that means Lucia won’t be as well. And I’ve already prepared everything to finally complete this task today. Oh gosh, what do I do?
