Martha laughed angrily. She bellowed, "What on earth do I want? Aren't you clear about what you've done? You went back on your word and made the White family become a laughing stock!"

Her voice was gentle and one could sense her concern for Martha.

Martha just felt Karen was sarcastic with her, so she shouted, "I know you fancy Gloria! But you know what? That slutty woman is flirting with a lot of guys while my daughter loves Jordy with her soul and heart. But all you did was hurt my daughter!"

Martha snapped at them but said nothing about her lies.

Karen's calm look changed into a cold one.

Even her eyes turned gloomy.

"Mind your words. I tried to comfort you just now because I know you're sad. But if you get Gloria involved, I suppose you should think whether you can stand the racket!" It was evidently a warning. But Martha didn't take it seriously and only said coldly, "I hope you can redecide it, or I wouldn't mind dragging you in with us!"

"Dragging us in?" Old JosephCollins suddenly spoke in a deep voice, "What are you planning to do? Have you ever considered what consequences the White family has to bear once you do offend us?"
