Chapter 874 Not to Offend Her

Soon it was the next day.

Gloria went to work as usual.

But rumors were festering.

Harold had already told people not to cross the line. Although no one was gossiping about it anymore, they still couldn't resist their feelings through their expressions and making eye contact.

Especially when they saw Gloria, people looked even more quizzically at her.

Gloria felt no different toward them and continued her routine work as usual.

Even if she was framed by others, she still could not stop her work. It didn't matter to her whether others believed the rumors or not. What mattered was whether Jordy believed in her.

She had argued with Joseph and if he was offended, he might cancel the cooperation between them. If so, she would feel that all her efforts would be wasted.

Even if she could restart the plan with the Brown Group all over again, it was still a bothersome task for her to do.

Everyone was gossiping and dodging eye contact that day. Some people still gossiped quietly in private. But fortunately, they dared not talk openly in their group chat after Harold had forbidden them to do so. Because they were afraid that someone might report their gossip to Harold.

When it was about time to leave work, Gloria's mobile phone rang.

It was Jonathan Brown.

She answered the phone.

She heard Jonathan giggling and saying, "Are you free now? Want to have dinner together? I have a new project with the White Group. It's a good plan. Do you want to come and check it out?" Gloria frowned, "It's not convenient for me today. Not today!"

Jonathan chuckled. Then he continued without any sense of dominance, "Interests should be put in the first place for businesswomen. Are you sure you don't want to come to see the plan? I can only work with the White Group. If we did, we would undoubtedly score new heights in the future."

Gloria hesitated for a few minutes. Jonathan would not lie. What he said must be true.

After hesitating for a moment, Gloria spoke gently.

"Let's meet somewhere quiet, with fewer people."

"Where do you prefer?" Jonathan's voice sounded particularly gentle and soft, revealing his eagerness to cooperate with Gloria.

Gloria thought for a moment and then named the address casually. Jonathan had no objection to her proposal. Then they hung up the phone and hurried to the place Gloria designated.

This time, Gloria felt quite relieved that she didn't see Jonathan showing up downstairs at the firm. She was aware that Jonathan wouldn't show up and rush to her side so as to let everyone know that they were together.

If so, it was not Jordy who would get hurt but Jonathan himself. Because if that happened, Gloria would avoid seeing Jonathan again.

It took about half an hour for Gloria to get there.

She had a private house in that place.

There were too many people in restaurants or the pubs for entertainment, so Gloria chose to meet him at her own place.

Besides, there were not many people here and it was a quiet environment. People wouldn't discover them meeting here.

Seeing Jonathan approaching, Gloria got out of the car and opened the door. Then the two of them walked into the house one after the other.

"Help yourself and get a seat." Gloria said and sat on the center sofa, while Jonathan chose to take the side seat.

His eyes fell on Gloria. Seeing her quiet, calm little face, he smiled faintly.

"If you chose me, you would never feel so much pressure like you did him."

Gloria frowned at his words. Seeing this, Jonathan explained again, "I'm not referring to love. I'm only talking about work."

Although Jonathan might have wanted Gloria to think the other way round, he still didn't want Gloria to feel repulsed by him. So Jonathan would be careful enough not to offend her.
