Return of the Crowned Heiress Chapter 573
Along with Stephan’s prolonged absence, many were probing for information. It wouldn’t be long before the truth of Stephan’s poisoning and coma got
Hearing this, Imogen clenched her fists tightly, then slowly released them with a cold laugh. On her face was a rare look of ruthlessness.
“It that’s the case, there’s no need to keep hiding it. Let the news spread. Spread it as widely as possible! I’d like to see who would dare to cause trouble!”
Andy and Stanley exchanged surprised glances
They both knew Imogen to be gentle and prone to tears when things went wrong. Yet, after giving birth, she seemed to have found her footing. For the first time, she exuded a decisive presence worthy of the Russell family name.
“As you command, Ms. Russell”
Both bowed their heads in acknowledgment.
After addressing a few other matters, Andy left first. Stanley hesitated for a moment before turning back to say, “Ms. Russell, you need to be cautious of
Johanna”
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“Johanna has stirred up trouble multiple times. Her intentions aren’t pure. This time, if she hadn’t provoked you and sowed discord, you wouldn’t have said those words and Mr. Russell wouldn’t have injured his eyes.”
Stanley paused, considering whether to add more. After they left the rainforest, Stephan had shown signs of wanting to deal with Johanna permanently However, out of consideration for Archie and Imogen, he held back.
Stephan had originally planned to remove Johanna from Imogen’s side once they returned to Seldvale. But before he could act, he fell into a coma do to the poisoning
“Ms. Russell, Johanna is far more cunning than she appears. She’s used you multiple times as a pawn. I fear she might—”
“Enough!” Imogen interrupted him coldly before he could finish.
“Johanna is my sister. She has no other family left, only me, her sister–in–law. With her brother gone, it’s my duty to take care of her. I don’t want to hear another word about this. You re forbidden from speaking of it again!”
derstand
Stanley lowered his head and then left the room.
Silence envelope the room once more.
Imogen slowly leaned back, resting her head against the bed’s headboard. Closing her eyes, she murmured softly, “Archie, if only you were still here…”
Meanwhile, in Seldvale, roughly nine miles from the Russell estate, soft, indulgent whispers echoed through an apartment unit.
“Archie… Archie. Arch”
The sounds continued for a long while before finally quieting.
Johanna rested against Archie with a smug grin on her face. “That old hag keeps calling your name, crying every time she mentions you, but she’ll never know you’re back and right here with me!”
Sheesh. You can be so petty,” Archie remarked while gently pinching her nose, his eyes overflowing with doting affection.
“Hmph! Are you saying you don’t like it?”
“I do. How could I not?” Archie chuckled and was about to play along further when his phone rang.
The device, equipped with anti–tracking and anti–surveillance systems, was linked to a private, untraceable number. Only one person could contact him through it.
His expression instantly turned serious. He gestured for Johanna to stay quiet, then answered the call.
“Speak. What’s the matter now!
“There’s been a change of plans.”
The voice on the other end was smooth and cultured, exuding the air of a refined gentleman. Yet his words were cold and ruthless.
“Stephan has a strong will to live. It turns out he’s still alive. You need to make a move and take him out!”
