Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 131

Adam headed to Area 2, reaching his destination in 20 minutes. He saw several footprints on the ground, and he arrived at a cliff after following them. There, he found the equipment of the missing engineer. Adam frowned. The equipment was still on the ground, which meant that the engineer had to be somewhere close.

However, Carl was nowhere to be found, and before he disappeared, his colleagues heard his scream through the walkie-talkie. Whatever happened to him, it happened fast and caught the man off-guard. Carl did not even have the time to ask for help and could only scream.

It was unlikely to be the work of a wild beast. After all, no matter what kind of animal it was, the probability that it could kill Carl instantly was very low. It was more likely that it was the doing of a person, or perhaps Carl had lost his footing, falling off the cliff. Adam walked up to the edge of the cliff and stretched out his neck to look down. The cliff was 300-400 feet tall, and it was full of jagged rocks and dry trees at the bottom. Among the trees, one was missing a third of its canopy. Did he really fall off the cliff?

Adam was planning to head down the cliff when he heard someone's voice.

"Keep looking! That kid ran eastward."

"Let's go after him!"

Slowly, the voices moved away from him.

Adam frowned. From their voices, those guys seem rather anxious. Perhaps this accident is not as simple as it seems...

Adam followed them, heading eastward. Five minutes later, he heard their voices again.

"Fuck, where did this girl come from? You have no business being here. Get the hell out of this place!"

Then, the voice of a girl reached Adam's ears. "Why do you want to kill him?"

"Because I feel like it! Anyway, it's none of your business. Get lost if you don't want to die!"

"Don't waste time with her. The police brought some rescue teams over, and they're searching the foot of the mountain. We have to be quick!"

"Girl, you've only yourself to blame. In your next life, remember not to be such a busybody! Let's go, all at once!"

Then, the three men attacked the girl at the same time.

Adam approached them, and a girl wearing her hair in a ponytail and donning scout clothing entered his field of vision. The girl stood amidst the bush, and behind her was a man in his twenties. The young man was covered in blood as he lay on the ground, motionless.

The trio rushed up to the girl and attacked her with their daggers. They had decided to get rid of her once and for all.

The girl jumped up and kicked one of the men, moving swiftly and with great precision. However, it was clear that she lacked combat experience as she made the mistake of ignoring the other two men.

They positioned themselves to her left and right, attacking as soon as she landed.

The girl barely dodged one of the daggers, but the other one left a wound on her right arm.

She gritted her teeth and shouted, "How dare you hurt me? You're going to regret it!"

The three continued with their attack, unfazed.

The girl was unable to hold them back, and another two wounds appeared on her arms.

Adam sighed inwardly. This girl has learned some martial arts, but she has never fought against a real opponent. Otherwise, she'd be able to hold her own against these guys with how skilled she is. Seeing that the girl was at her limit, Adam sprinted forward, kicking the trio away.

"Get lost!" shouted Adam coldly.

The three men recovered from their initial shock and snarled, "It seems this guy wants to die too!"

"Stop talking nonsense. Let's get done with it quickly!"

Then, the trio attacked Adam.

At this moment, some police officers shouted from afar, "What's happening over there? Everyone, freeze!"

The three men stiffened. They looked at each other and turned around, running toward the forest.

Adam thought for a second and decided not to chase after them. He walked up to the man lying on the ground and stretched out his hand to check if he was still breathing.

He's still alive...

Adam tore the man's clothes to take a better look at his injuries. There were a few deep cuts and bruises on his upper body. Although these wounds were not life-threatening, he might die due to the loss of blood. Without further ado, Adam tore the man's clothes into long strips and prepared to use them as bandages.

However, the girl rushed over and squatted down beside him. "Move aside. I'm a doctor."

Adam was stunned. In the next moment, the girl opened her backpack and took out a plastic bottle, a white jar, a clean towel, and a rectangular box.

She poured the content of the plastic bottle on the towel, rubbing it on the wounds of the young man.

The strong smell of alcohol assailed Adam's nostrils.

Wait, why is she carrying a bottle of alcohol with her?

While Adam was still puzzled, the girl opened the white jar and sprinkled some white powder on the man's wounds. Very soon, the blood started to coagulate.

Adam was startled. That's a pretty good coagulant.

Then, the girl opened the rectangular box, taking out a roll of fabric. She unrolled it, revealing a shining set of needles. After a short moment of hesitation, she started to stitch the wounds on the man's upper body.

Soon, the wounds stopped bleeding, and the man's breathing became steadier. The girl continued until all the wounds were stitched, only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.

She lay weakly on the ground and whispered, "He's out of danger."

Adam looked at her in surprise. Although the girl was not a great fighter, her medical skills were exceptional. Thinking of her identity, Adam could not help but sigh with emotion.

When the girl took out the needles, Adam saw the word "Medici" on the fabric. Therefore, he already knew that she was part of the Medicis.

The Medicis were a powerful family, only slightly weaker than the Drakes at their peak. While the Drakes excelled in martial arts, the Medicis excelled in medical arts. It was no exaggeration to say that they had a hand in most modern medical techniques. "Is your surname Medici?" asked Adam.

The girl was stunned, and she looked at Adam suspiciously.

Adam was able to confirm his guess from her reaction, and he could not help but sigh inwardly one more time.

Is she also here due to those rumors about a survivor of the Drake family?

Swindlers' Guild, Divine Gate, Lotus Sect, and now the Medicis...

A lot of factions have been on the move since those rumors started, and they're all sending people to Lisle.

A storm is coming, and I'm afraid Lisle won't be peaceful in the near future.

I don't think I'll be able to hide my identity for long...

The sound of the ringtone brought Adam back to his senses.

It was a call from Black Dragon. "Drake, there's something I have to report."

"Do tell."

Black Dragon hesitated for a short moment before saying, "Priscilla Rain has gone crazy!"

"What?" Adam was baffled.
