Return Of The Prodigy -
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 98
"Adam!"
Daniel roared, his eyes turning red.
At this moment, he was truly panicked. Although he didn't know how Adam managed to bring everything to this point, he couldn't let Adam continue talking.
If Adam revealed what he had done in the provincial capital, the Hartleys would never trust him again, and his plan to take over the Hartleys would be completely ruined.
He had been planning and scheming for six years. He was on the verge of success, and he couldn't let a madman like Adam ruin everything
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have designed to frame you all. I know I was wrong. I'm willing to compensate you ten million. Let's end this matter here. Is that okay?"
"If you're still not satisfied, you set the conditions, and I'll do as you say."
In an instant, the Hartleys looked at Daniel in shock.
What did they see?
The always high and mighty Daniel actually bowed to Adam? He was humbly begging Adam for forgiveness? And he was voluntarily offering compensation? How was this possible?
They had previously claimed that Adam and Daniel were like night and day, that Adam wasn't even worthy of cleaning Daniel's shoes. But now, it seemed like Daniel was the one who had fallen lower. Matilda was even more shocked, shouting, "Husband, what are you doing? How can you apologize to him? Why would you compensate them?"
"You're also doing it for the good of the Hartleys. Why should you apologize to them?"
In many years, Matilda had constantly mocked Katie, saying she wasn't fortunate enough. Despite having been engaged to Daniel, she couldn't marry into the Smiths. Instead, she ended up with a lunatic, enduring mistreatment and bearing the brunt of insults. But now, her proud husband was apologizing to Adam, and even begging for an end to everything?
This result was simply unacceptable to her!
How could her husband be inferior to a lunatic? Wouldn't that mean she, too, was surpassed by Katie?
No, even if she died, she wouldn't allow herself to be surpassed by that wretched woman Katie.
"Daniel, don't worry. Grandpa will stand up for us. You don't need to..."
"Shut up!" Daniel roared, his ferocious expression resembling a wild beast.
The next moment, Daniel continued pleading with Adam, "Is two million enough?"
At this moment, even Gemma and Trey were dumbfounded. They stopped crying and making a scene, alternating between looking at Daniel and Adam as if they were dreaming and couldn't believe it. Two million, Daniel was actually willing to give them two million?
"Adam..." Gemma was so excited that she couldn't help but speak up, ready to ask Adam to agree.
Fortunately, Katie reacted quickly, blocking her and saying, "Mom, don't interrupt. Let Adam handle this matter today."
Gemma was stunned, feeling sorry as she said, "What's there to handle? So much money, I've never seen it in my whole life. Let's take it first, and then we'll talk about the rest." "Mom, you're getting greedy for money again. Did you forget what Dad just said..."
"Alright, I was just saying. By the way, what happened to this lunatic today? How does he know so much? He actually forced Daniel to admit his mistake and apologize." Katie looked at Adam and said softly, "No matter what he did, I trust him."
Annie's eyes were full of stars as he adoringly said, "Grandma, my dad is amazing, really amazing."
In the hall, Daniel, drenched in cold sweat, gritted his teeth and said, "Three million, that's the most I have. Take it or leave it."
Adam said in a cold voice:"Even if you have three billion, it's useless! When you schemed against my dad, targeted my family, your fate was already sealed."
At this moment, even Gemma and Trey looked at Adam with changed eyes.
Adam continued, "Do you think you've been discreet in buying off Amanda and her daughter, making a scene in front of the Hartleys Group, and damaging my wife's reputation?" "Do you think hiding a woman in the provincial capital is a secret?"
"Do you think the orders you helped sign for the Hartleys can truly deceive everyone?"
The sound of questioning echoed through the venue, each sentence striking like thunder.
The Hartleys members, who were initially unaware of this matter, immediately erupted in exclamations.
"What? The incident of Amanda causing trouble at Hartleys Group was also arranged by him?"
"Is he not afraid of completely ruining the reputation of Hartleys Group by doing this?"
"And, what does it mean, Hartleys's order?"
Looking at Matilda, with disbelief in her eyes, she asked, "Daniel, is what he said true? Did you keep a woman in the provincial capital?"
Daniel didn't answer; he stared fixedly at Adam, word by word, asking, "Who are you, really?"
Adam took a step forward, a fierce aura overwhelming, "I am someone you can never afford to provoke!"
Suddenly, Daniel burst into laughter, in a manic state like a madman.
"I don't believe it. I don't believe you really know everything!"
"It's impossible. You're just a lunatic; you're talking nonsense, falsely accusing me. How could you compare to me?"
"I am the distinguished young master of Smiths, intelligent and wealthy. Why should I compare with you, a lunatic?" Adam sneered, "No tears until you see the coffin!"
"Come, bring the evidence!"
As the words fell, a girl in red pouted and said, "Humph, I'm Fannie Andrews, not the coffin!"
