Sophie nodded, signaling she understood.

Rehabilitation was a positive step. Who'd want to be stuck in a wheelchair for life if they had the chance to walk again?

"With Mr. Gordon's determination, daily rehab won't faze him. What probably got to him was his pride."

Gordon was a prodigy, a genius. Pride ran through his veins. How could someone like him tolerate being mocked by the average?

Upstairs, Sophie glanced at Gordon's closed door, where the constant sound of someone falling filled the air.

She paused, pondering. If Elodie's medicine could truly heal...

Why wouldn't Gordon take it?

Sophie headed downstairs. Jenna, noticing her hustle, asked, "What's got you so busy this early?"

"Heading out!"

Grabbing the car keys, Sophie sped off in her luxury car, pulling up at the Burke family estate. The security guards, recognizing her, went on high alert.

"Why does everyone look at me like I'm the Grim Reaper?"

Stepping out of the car, Sophie moved towards the guards, who retreated with each step she took.

She looked down at herself and asked, "Do I look like a monster or something?"

The guards exchanged nervous glances.

Everyone in Devonport knew Sophie was Colby's fiancée. The Burke family's security had suffered enough at Colby's hands.

The last time Colby pretended to be a robber, tied them up, and even stabbed Mr. Burke - that incident still haunted them!

"Could you tell your madam I'm not here to cause trouble? I'm looking for someone."

The guards hesitated at her words.

What's the difference between looking for someone and looking for trouble?

If Bea found out Sophie was here, she'd probably have a fit!

"What's wrong? Didn't I make myself clear?"

Sophie's tone was sharp, and the guards quickly went to inform someone.

Inside the Burke family's hall, Bea was having breakfast with Elodie when a guard rushed in, flustered. "What's the rush? Can't you speak calmly?" "It's... Ms. Sophie is here!"

Bea nearly jumped out of her seat: "What did you say? Sophie?"

"Yes! Ms. Sophie! She's right at the entrance..."

Before the guard could finish, Sophie walked in.

Seeing Sophie, Bea's expression darkened: "Sophie! Who let you into the Burke estate?"

"Bea, don't blame me. Your guards were worried I'd get sunburned, so they invited me in."

Bea's face turned even stormier: "What are you really here for?"

"I told you, I'm looking for someone."

Sophie's gaze landed on Elodie.

Elodie, as if expecting Sophie, stood up and said, "Mrs. Costello, what would you like to discuss?"

Sophie responded, "Let's find somewhere quieter. This isn't the best place."

"Fair enough."

Elodie agreed, but Bea interjected: "No way!"
