Colby slipped quietly off the third floor.

Inside the room, Cassidy woke up feeling unusually refreshed. He noticed Sophie was already up and instinctively asked, "Hungry? I can go grab us some breakfast."

"No thanks, I'm picky about my breakfast."

Since being with Colby, breakfast had always been his domain, something he'd lovingly prepared for her every morning. What used to be mundane had now become a part of her routine she couldn't do without. Sophie shook her head softly and told Cassidy, "You don't need to worry about me anymore. Come back when you've figured things out. You can leave now."

"I..."

Before Cassidy could finish his thought, Sophie had already turned back to the bathroom to freshen up.

Just then, there was a 'ding ding' at the door.

Cassidy slipped on his jacket and opened the door to find a waiter with a cart. "Sir, here's the breakfast you ordered."

"Ordered? I didn't order anything."

Cassidy was baffled. When did he order breakfast?

The waiter simply wheeled the cart in and left without further explanation.

Sophie emerged from the bathroom, her eyes landing on the gleaming cart in front of her.

"I thought I said I wasn't eating? Did you order this?"

Cassidy had already lifted the lid. Inside was a freshly baked soufflé, adorned with a few blueberries, and a small bowl of bird's nest porridge-just enough for one. Cassidy wasn't much for sweets or bird's nests, but he noticed Sophie couldn't take her eyes off the breakfast. "Do you... want to try it?"

"Just leave it."

Seeing she might have an appetite, Cassidy continued, "I thought it over last night, and I'm willing to agree to your terms."

"Great, my secretary will contact you later."

"Your secretary? But you..."

"Silly brother, your sister's got a busy life."

Sophie approached the cart, took a few casual bites, and remarked, "It's pretty good, thanks."

"Thank me? But this isn't..."

Cassidy didn't even get to finish his sentence.

Sophie set down her spoon and said, "I've got to run."

With that, Sophie walked out, leaving Cassidy staring at the breakfast.

He hadn't ordered it....

By midday, the headlines were buzzing with news of Sophie and Colby's marriage troubles, claiming Sophie had retaliated by spending the night at a club with a younger man. The story was plastered with convincing photos.

Jenna, upon seeing the article, threw her newspaper to the ground in anger: Who are these tabloid hacks spewing nonsense? I'll shut them up!"

"Jenna! Calm down, it's not worth it!"

Jenna shot a furious look at Adler, "Not worth it? Sophie stormed off to Devonport this morning! You didn't know?"

"Sophie? Back to Devonport? By herself? And Colby..."

Adler turned his gaze to Colby.

But Colby's face remained unreadable.

Colby had returned that morning

looking like he hadn't slept a winket

yet he hadn't taken a moment to rest. Adler feared Colby might just crash from exhaustion.

"Didn't you see Sophie's post? She's probably landed by now!"
