Upon hearing Sophie's words, the group exchanged puzzled glances.

Sophie continued, "Look, I'm a businesswoman, and so is my husband. The young lady next to me is also looking to make some quick cash, not just through the beauty clinic industry." "You mean, Ms. Sophie..."

"I've heard that arcade businesses are booming these days. Several of my friends became shareholders and are raking in millions each month. I'm really interested, but I've had no luck finding a way in. The shares for existing arcades are out of reach, so... I figured I'd start my own."

Sophie glanced at the machines in the crate and said, "I know these machines are from Summerfield, courtesy of the Minton family. Let's cut to the chase: if you can get me arcade machines from Summerfield, I'll make sure you're compensated generously, even more than what I have here."

At the mention of Summerfield and the Minton family, Sandy's face soured.

Weren't we supposed to be discussing the beauty clinic business?

Why are we suddenly talking about arcade machines?

And why bring up Summerfield and the Minton family?

"Ms. Sophie, I can get the machines, but the cost..."

"Don't worry, I have the money. Just get the machines, and I'll have your reward ready."

The lead man nodded and said, "Three days. I'll deliver the machines to the East Dock in three days. Ms. Sophie, have someone there to pick them up."

"Thank you."

Sophie pulled out a debit card from her purse, saying, "Once we draft the contract, the funds on this card will be my down payment. After confirming the machines are in good condition, I'll pay the balance and the shipping costs. Any objections?" The group, driven by profit, had none.

After the manager and delivery men left, Sandy couldn't hold back her frustration, "Sophie, you lied again! Didn't you say you were bringing me into the beauty clinic business?"

"Isn't all this beauty clinic equipment enough for you, Ms. Sandy?"

"But..."

"Hold on."

Sophie took out her phone and dialed a number.

After a couple of rings, the call was answered.

"Spit it out, don't waste my time."

On the other end, Odie's tone was curt.

Hearing Odie's voice, Sandy's expression darkened.

Sophie's voice turned sweet, "Mr. Odie, Ms. Sandy needs to see you. Could you come to Warehouse One?"

"No time."

Just as Odie was about to hang up, Sophie quickly said, "The machines you smuggled from Summerfield to Devonport are in Warehouse One. Still no time?" Hearing this, Odie glanced at the unfamiliar number on his phone.

"Is this Sophie?"

"Who else?"

Odie sighed, "Are you always this annoying?"

Sophie countered, "Are you coming or not?"

"Stay there. I'm on my way."

With that, Odie hung up.

Sandy stomped her foot in frustration, "What does Odie mean by that? He has no time for me, but when it's you, he suddenly has time?"

"Ms. Sandy, Odie holds grudges. I hope you can get along with him. Otherwise... he'll find a way to make trouble for you eventually."
