Revenge Of The Billionaire Girl -
Chapter 57 I Did Nothing
Sophia shook her head resignedly.
Since it was her brother's kindness, she didn't mind accepting it.
Also, she would fight back the Lane family in her own way.
Soon, the Lane family's poor financial status was exposed online. Some netizens commented that the Lane family wished to unite the Riley family by marriage because of its financial trouble. The news and gossip attracted many people's attention.
The Old Riley also heard of it. He hadn't known much about the Lane family's status. After all, the latter had hidden all the information. When he first learned the situation, he asked Olivia Grant immediately. "Is the Lane family's financial status the same as the online rumors said?"
Olivia called the Lane family right after hearing the news. Only then did she know what the Lanes had done and who had caused the trouble.
She answered calmly, "Dad, it's all fake. Honestly speaking, Sophia Lawson made this trouble this time. As you know, she always wants to revenge on us. She makes trouble all the time and tries to make things difficult for us." Olivia had thought her words would anger the Old Riley, but the Old Riley only looked at her in doubt.
"What's wrong, Dad?"
"If not mistaken, all the news revealed by Sophia Lawson is real. How come this one is fake?"
Olivia panicked as she didn't expect the Old Riley to notice it.
"Of course, it's fake. The Lane family is perfect. If they suffered from financial trouble, they would tell me long ago. Dad, I know you care about my older sister's family. No worries. They are fine." The Old Riley didn't remark.
After breakfast, Olivia went to the Lane manor.
She was irritated by the Lanes. Earlier, she reminded them not to make any moves, but they didn't listen. Even the Old Riley started doubting her.
"Didn't I ask you to discuss with me before doing anything to Sophia Lawson? That bitch is different from three years ago. I don't know how much evidence she has. If she exposed all your evil deeds, think I could protect you all?" As soon as she finished snapping, a man entered the living room.
"That's right. You cannot protect them anymore."
Bard arrived.
He was the son of the Lawson family, so Olivia had to show him some respect.
With a warm smile, she strode to him. "Good day, Mr. Lawson. What has brought you down here?"
"What has brought me here? Remember what you've done to Sophia? Can't I come here to teach you a lesson?"
Olivia hadn't expected Sophia to impact the Lawson family so much.
Thinking Sophia wasn't worth others treating her so well, Olivia explained, "It's a misunderstanding, Mr. Lawson."
"Misunderstanding my ass. Sophia has found out your Lane family wanted to harm her. You scumbags! You bullied her three years ago. Now you want to kill her. I can tell you all have death wishes." He gave off a terrifying aura, frightening the Lanes.
Nova looked at Olivia in fear. She was not as strong and smart as her younger sister, Olivia, so she wished Olivia could help her and her family.
Olivia confidently believed Bard was just a child and she could deal with him easily.
"Mr. Lawson, you don't know Sophia Lawson well..."
"Shut the fuck up! Dare to insult Sophia. I'm going to kill you as well," Bard interrupted her fiercely.
Olivia still wanted to explain but had no chance.
Gazing at Nova sharply, Bard snapped, "Did Emilia Lane do it? Ask her to get out!"
Nova immediately explained, "No, Mr. Lawson. It has nothing to do with us at all."
"I haven't told you what the matter is. Now you impatiently explain. Isn't it too evident?"
Nova was rendered speechless.
Lawrence glared at her. Wearing a smile, he walked to Bard and said, "Mr. Lawson, it was really a misunderstanding. It was all Sophia Lawson's fault. She..."
He broke off as he noticed Bard's deadly gaze.
'Think I'm a fool? I'm Sophia's older brother. How could I not know what she'd done?'
"You'd better call Emilia Lane out. Or your whole family will be doomed."
Emilia heard his threats in her bedroom. Feeling unconvinced and annoyed, she wondered how Sophia had bewitched those men. All of them treated Sophia well and wanted to help her.
Emilia believed she would make Bard suspect Sophia and dump her.
Therefore, she stepped out of her room and sobbed, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Lawson."
Bard darted a glance at her. He hated such a kind of woman the most.
"Mr. Lawson, it's not like what you've thought. Sophia Lawson has been jealous of me for years since she knew I was Drake's fiancee. Years ago, she thought I had separated her from Drake, so she took revenge on me."
"In fact..."
Bard interrupted her, "In fact, your aunt, Olivia Grant, found you and asked you to marry Drake Riley to help the Lane family out of financial trouble, right?" Everyone was shocked as nobody expected Bard to know this matter behind.
They wondered if Sophia had also known it.
Emilia was slightly taken aback and hurriedly explained, "No. It's not like you've thought. It has nothing to do with the Lane family. I love Drake for real..."
Bard laughed loudly to interrupt her. "Three years ago, you hired someone to drive into Sophia and almost killed her. Now, Sophia has become your obstacle, so you want to eliminate her. You hired the gangsters to kidnap her and dump her into the sea. You are such a vicious woman. I must take you to the police station. You don't deserve to survive in this world." Bard dragged Emilia toward the door.
His words horrified Emilia. She didn't want to go there, nor did she want to spend the rest of her life in jail.
"No! I didn't do anything. You can't do this to me."
Only then did the Lanes realize it was severe.
Nova gripped Bard's wrist and begged, "Mr. Lawson, we have nothing to do with all those things. We've done nothing."
Bard sneered, "Think I came here without evidence?"
Sophia didn't give him evidence, but he had investigated it secretly.
How ridiculous the Lanes were! Did they take him as the most useless son of the Lawson family?
Scowling at him, Olivia could tell Bard had been prepared before coming to the Lane manor. If they still refused to admit the mistake, they would be sent to the police station definitely.
"Mr. Lawson, let's talk," she suggested.
