Revenge Of The Billionaire Girl -
Chapter 72 Investigation into Sophia
"Cecelia, whatever feelings I have for Sophia, I won't be with you. Do not waste your time on me."
Cecelia's tears fell out of her eyes and she desperately shook her head, "No, Drake! I like you! I really like you! If I can't be with you, my life will be meaningless. Can't you just try dating me? You will find how great I am! Drake..." After what had happened just now, Drake was was in no mood. He stood up, "Don't speak of this again. You guys have fun, I need to go now."
Cecelia kept shouting at him, "Drake! Drake!"
But Drake didn't stop, he strode out of the bar.
Flynn sighed, "Cecelia, I have asked Sophia about her feelings for Drake. Sophia told me that she didn't love Drake anymore. And clearly, Drake is the one who's hung up on Sophia. You should give him up."
Cecelia gnashed her teeth and said, "Flynn, you really believe what Sophia has said? She didn't love him anymore? She was clearly lying. Didn't you see how she was trying to seduce him just now? She's just a bitch!" Flynn frowned. "Cecelia, stop this. Sophia is not that kind of person!"
Cecelia looked at him in disbelief, "Flynn, you are my brother. How could you take her side?"
"Cecelia, I know you are upset now, but Drake won't be yours no matter how hard you tried to make him yours."
"I don't believe it. I didn't try hard enough before, but this time is different. I have come back for him. I will make him mine!"
Flynn didn't know what to say now. Cecelia was too stubborn to listen to him.
But he needed to warn her, "Listen, Cecelia. You know Drake. If you did something to make him angry, he wouldn't let you go. Even I might not be able to help you by then."
"Humph! I don't need your help. I'm sure Drake will eventually make the right choice." Cecelia seemed very confident in herself.
Flynn shook his head helplessly.
Bailey put his hand on Flynn's shoulder to comfort him.
...
After Drake left the bar, he leaned against the car down Sophia's apartment, with a cigarette between his fingers. He was smoking while looking up.
The lights were on, indicating that Sophia had returned home after leaving the bar.
Drake had intended to give up, but when he saw her talking and laughing with another man, he was so furious somehow.
For some reason, he just couldn't give up on her.
He didn't know what charm Sophia had to make him unable to forget her.
Sophia, Sophia, Sophia...
Many nights, her name echoed in his head.
After Sophia got home, Bard was staying in her room and talking, "What was wrong with Drake Riley? He knew that you would never get back together, so why did he do that? Sophia, I'm telling you. You can't change your mind because of what he has done!"
"I won't."
She had long given up on him. Now, Emilia had been punished, and although Olivia seemed fine now, she had lost the Old Riley's trust in her.
She had finished her revenge plan. But for her work in Sealand, she would have left this city.
"I may warn you that you must leave after work is done here."
"I know."
Bard glanced at her, and said, unconvinced, "I doubt if you could by then."
"I..." Sophia saw a familiar figure downstairs and stopped speaking when she was about to close the curtains.
She stood there, taken aback.
Drake? Why was he standing there?
Although he was a little far from her, but when their eyes met, they seemed shocked.
Bard noticed that Sophia seemed weird. What was she looking at?
He walked over and saw Drake.
"Why was he here?"
Drake saw him too and his face changed. They were in the same room so late at night?
But somehow, Drake suddenly had a strange feeling that maybe the relationship between Sophia and Bard wasn't as what he thought it was. Otherwise, why would Bard let Ronan keep Sophia company without any objection? Then what exactly was their relationship?
Bard quickly pulled the curtain and said angrily, "Damn it! I will kick him out right now!"
Sophia grabbed his arm. "Bard, leave him there."
"Leave him there? Look what he's doing!"
"What he does has nothing to do with me."
"Really? Don't you even feel a thing?"
Sophia was stunned and didn't know what to say.
Yes, she still felt a thing for Drake. But so what?
Bard looked at her and he knew what she was thinking. He shook his head, "Sophia, I don't want you to be hurt again."
One time was enough. He couldn't bear to see her being hurt again.
Sophia smiled. "Bard, what's on your mind? You think what he has done can affect me?"
Bard stared at her for a long time and seemed confused when he saw nothing on her face. "Bard, trust me."
After a long while, Bard finally nodded, "Fine. I trust you."
"Go to bed now. You have to work tomorrow."
"I will."
Bard left.
Sophia was still standing by the curtains, but she didn't have the courage to see Drake.
'Drake, forget about me!'
Down the apartment building, Drake didn't know how long he had stood there. He had thought Sophia would open the curtains again, or run downstairs to see him, but she didn't. He didn't know if he should hold on to the glimpse of hope.
But he wasn't able to give up either.
His phone rang, and it was Paul
"Mr. Riley, the investigation result about Sophia has come out."
For some reason, Drake's hands sweat nervously, "What did you find?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Riley. After days of investigation, I haven't gotten any useful information."
It was not that he was incompetent, but someone seemed to have hid all the clues and evidence beforehand. Thus, Paul could not find out anything.
