Ewan pushed a contract to her.

Sophia picked it up and read it through.

It was an excellent project, but it was a trap she had already known.

"Mr. Knight, it's so nice of you. This is a brilliant project. Thank you for considering me."

"You are welcome, Ms. Lawson. In Sealand, your company is still developing and cannot be compared to other big enterprises. Soon, it'll become one of the top companies. If I don't grasp the chance to work with you, I'm afraid I'll never have the honor in the future."

"Ha ha ha... Thanks for your compliment, Mr. Knight. I'll feel sorry if I don't cooperate with you."

Ewan could tell Sophia ran her company based on her competence instead of her family background, so such a kind of woman was menacing. She must have used all sorts of means while developing her company. Narrowing his gaze at her, Ewan asked, "Ms. Lawson, does it mean you've agreed?"

"Mr. Knight, you came to me in person and sent me the contract already. Of course, I'll agree."

Ewan was delighted. He knew he could succeed.

"Wonderful! It's my pleasure to work with you, Ms. Lawson. May I have the honor of having lunch with you later?"

"Sure."

Sophia didn't refuse.

Ewan was distracted by her charm, wishing to caress and kiss such an enchanting woman like her.

When they left Sophia's office together, Chloe looked at them in surprise. Before she spoke, Sophia winked at her to let her rest assured.

Chloe nodded at her in response.

Ewan also suggested Chloe join them but didn't hope she would agree for the sake of his plan.

Fortunately, Chloe didn't.

After arriving at the restaurant, Ewan and Sophia sat at a table.

Not far away from them, Drake was having lunch with his client. Seeing Sophia sitting with Ewan, he looked annoyed.

Ewan had a negative reputation in the finance circle. Drake was afraid he would take advantage of Sophia.

"Mr. Riley?" his client reminded him.

Following his gaze, the client saw Sophia and was enlightened.

Sophia was chatting and laughing with Ewan, giving the latter the illusion that she liked him. Ewan also heard Sophia present a report to identify that she was still a virgin, the kind he hadn't had sex with for a long time. Besides, she was Drake Riley's first love. The thought excited him.

Ewan reminded her, "Ms. Lawson, please feel free to order anything you like."

Sophia could read his nasty mind but didn't care. She would teach him a lesson definitely, and it wasn't the good time to do so now. While ordering, she answered, "Mr. Knight, it's really kind of you. However, you are a visitor to our company. Lunch is on me." "Please don't, Ms. Lawson. I'm a man. I cannot let a woman pay the bill." As he spoke, Ewan reached out to stroke Sophia's hand. However, his wrist was gripped tightly by another man. Ewan felt his wrist breaking.

"Ouch! Let go..."

Sophia scowled at the man next to the table.

Drake noticed it, staring at her as if implying, 'Sophia, you won't blame me for being nosy, will you?"

Sophia replied with her gaze, 'You are!'

Drake shook off Ewan's wrist. The latter fell off the chair.

Staring at Sophia, Drake snapped, "Don't you know what kind of man he is?"

Sophia glared at him. "None of your business."

"You!"

Drake boiled with anger. He didn't care when he didn't see her talk shop with other men. However, the current scene riled him up. "Sophia, if you want cooperation, you can always talk to me. Why do you have to work with such a man?" He pointed at Ewan. Ewan looked aggrieved. He always believed his own company was excellent.

However, Drake suddenly appeared, and Ewan dared not to do anything.

"Well, Ms. Lawson, I need to deal with something urgent. Let's talk later. Please excuse me."

He ran away.

Drake picked up his phone and dialed Paul's number. "Listen. I want Ewan Knight to go to the dogs ASAP."

Sophia was in helpless anger. "Drake Riley, please stay away from my business. You ruined my plan, all right?" "Plan? What plan?"

"It's none of your business."

Drake seized her hand. "Will you let him touch your hand and check into a hotel room in your plan?"

Sophia shook his hand off. "Even if so, what does it have to do with you?"

"You!"

Without any mood to stay for lunch, Sophia closed the menu. "I'm leaving. You ruined my appetite. Bye!"

She stormed out of the restaurant in her high heels.

Drake's heart was full of chagrin.

His client sat at the other table awkwardly. A while later, he walked to Drake. "Excuse me, Mr. Riley. We may have lunch some other day. What do you think?"

Drake darted a glance at him.

The client was so scared that he bid Drake farewell, "I'm headed up. See you, Mr. Riley."

Drake ignored him and inwardly cursed Sophia.

Seeing Sophia return to the office, Chloe asked in surprise, "Why do you come back so soon?"

"I'm too unlucky. I met Drake Riley. Son of bitch!"

Chloe could figure out what had happened. Drake had stayed in Sealand for many years, so he must know what kind of man Ewan was. Therefore, Chloe could understand why he ruined Sophia's plan. "What do you plan to do next, Sophia?"

"What else can I do? This is the best way to get rid of Martha McAdoo. I'll go to see Ewan Knight later."

Chloe nodded. "That's the only way now."

The following day, Sophia went to Ewan's company.

Ewan was overjoyed to see her but dared not to approach her. After all, Sophia was Drake's first love. From Drake's attitude the previous day, Ewan could tell how much he cared about her. Although bold, he had no guts to steal a woman from Drake.

"Ms. Lawson, nice to see you..."

Sophia beamed at him with a smile, "Mr. Knight, I hope you were not scared by Drake Riley."

"Ha ha ha... How could it be possible?" Ewan was unwilling to admit it.

"You don't need to be afraid of him. We broke up long ago. Sorry for yesterday. We were supposed to discuss the cooperation during lunch, but..."

Ewan didn't expect her to tell him so. Therefore, he was encouraged again.

On the other side, Paul received the information that Sophia had taken the initiative to meet Ewan, looking baffled. He wondered if Sophia knew what kind of man Ewan was.
