Rise of the Alpha -
Chapter 32
Magnolia
I awake, burning up, not believing the f*****g erotic dream I had about Wylla, Jude, and myself. It was so good, I’m getting hot and bothered just remembering it. I go to roll out of bed, but I’m stopped by the very feminine, tattooed leg draped across my thighs and a very masculine arm cupping my breast. Also, might I add, it’s a very naked feminine leg over my very exposed crotch.
F**k, it wasn’t a dream! It really happened! My first freaking s****l experience with a guy. Wylla and I have messed around, but it’s never gone as far as it did last night. Then Jude and what he did with his tail, my center immediately clenches as heat rushes to it.
I need a shower, a nice long cold shower to calm my lustful body. Carefully lifting Jude’s hand from my breast, exposing my pebbled nipple, then easily guiding Wylla’s leg off of me, I slither down the middle of the bed like the snake in the Garden of Eden.
Once I’m at the end of the bed, I slowly sit up, looking back over my shoulder to see the two of them have gravitated toward each other. A beaming smile covers my face at the sight of the two of them as memories of last night flood my mind. It was truly a wonderful experience I wouldn’t have wanted to have with anyone else. Well, maybe a few more. But I already have a delightful suspicion that I’ll have some amazing moments to make with them as well.
Standing, I tiptoe over to my dresser, taking hold of my shower caddy, robe, and room key, and move toward the door to quietly exit the room. “Where are you going, Maggie?” comes from the s*x demon in my bed, his gravelly morning voice sending tingles across my skin.
“Shower, go back to sleep,” I whisper to him, not wanting to wake Wylla.
“Okay, I love you, Maggie,” he whispers back before scooting closer to Wylla and draping his arm over her waist as he nestles his face into her rainbow hair.
Did he really just say that?Did he mean it that way, or was it just a casual word of affection? My mind is on overload as I step into the hallway and shut the door behind me, making sure to close it softly, so it doesn’t make too much noise.
Making my way down the hall to the communal bathroom, there’s nothing but silence. Very unlike a typical Monday morning. Either we really slept in or something crazy is going on. But it does warrant me some freedom in the bathroom to ease this ache between my thighs without anyone hearing me.
I make sure to check every stall and once I’m satisfied I’m alone, I hastily undress, placing my discarded clothes and robe on the bench outside the stall. Turning on the water to full blast, I let the heat from the spray soothe my aching muscles as my hands slide down over my breasts, along my stomach, to my aching heat. I allow my finger to slip through my folds, teasing my little bundle of nerves as I replay last night in my mind. I’m so aroused, it doesn’t take long before I’m exploding all over my fingers, as I reach out with my free hand and brace myself against the wall. Not even a minute later, I hear the bathroom door slam open as it hits the wall and muffled feminine giggles. Thank f**k, I finished in time.
I lather myself up with some soap and quickly wash my body. I’m hoping Wylla is up when I get back to the room because we need to do this spell sooner rather than later. If my betrothed gets wind of what happened last night, not only am I being dragged out of here but Wylla and Jude are as good as dead. Alpha Johnson and his son are cut-throat, and there’s no way they will let us off with the shame of what we did. Not with the way it would look for his son to be shamed by a mere woman of no standing. I’d probably be shunned by my pack, locked away in some dank, mildewed cell in some underground tavern.
I took longer than I planned in the shower and rushed back to our room, opening the door slowly, I step inside, keeping my head down as I tiptoe over to my dresser and place my caddy on it, before tossing my clothing into the overflowing laundry hamper. We really need to do some laundry, otherwise, I am going to have to go commando.
“Umm… why are you sneaking around?” Wylla asks from behind me, which makes me jump out of my skin, and let out a startled shriek, not noticing that she was awake.
“F**k, you scared the ever-loving piss out of me.” She’s doubled over laughing as I scan the room, noticing that Jude is missing. “Where’s Jude?”
“Oh, the demon s*x freak headed upstairs to wake up the rodent and the puppy for class. They’re going to be back down in a few, so we can head over and get something to eat,” Wylla tells me as she slides her shirt over her head.
“Oh… okay.” I open my drawer and pull out a pair of panties and step into them, sliding them up my body. Taking off my robe, I hang it on the hook on the dresser before pulling out a bra and putting it on, fighting with trying to hook it in the back.
“Let me help you with that, babes,” Wylla croons. I feel the air shift as she steps up behind me, taking the clasps from my hand and hooking them. Reaching around my waist, she lets her hands slide over my bare stomach as she leans in and begins to pepper soft k****s along my shoulder.
“Thank you,” I mutter softly. “Wylla…” I pause, waiting for her response.
“Uh-huh,” comes out muffled against my skin, as she continues, moving across my skin to give some attention to the other shoulder.
“Do you think we could do the spell sooner than later?” I pull away from her, moving over to the closet. I slide the hangers across the pole until I find the dress I want. Slipping it over my head, I allow my hands to smooth out all the wrinkles before I turn back to face Wylla.
“Is there a reason you’re in a hurry now? Has something changed?” she asks as she moves over and takes a seat on her bed.
Letting out a deep sigh, I head over and take a seat beside her. Reaching out, I grasp her hand in mind before I continue, “I don’t want to go back to my pack. There’s no way I can do another weekend visit. I’m afraid the next time I go back, they won’t let me leave, and I’ll be stuck there and never see you again. Do you think Blaine would talk to his father and see if I can join his pack and swear an oath of loyalty to them? If not, then I’m going to have no choice but to go rogue and leave here to go somewhere my father and Alpha Johnson can never find me,” I rush out, maintaining a tight grip on her hand as a lone tear slides down my cheek, falling onto our joined hands.
“I’m sure Blaine would jump at that chance,” she tells me, the corners of her lips turning up into a smile
“Even if we’re not mates, because we still don’t know for sure, and if I am mated by a bond to the Alpha heir and Betas, my joining their pack could end in a war. Would they really want that? I’ve just got so many questions and fears, Wylla. If someone got hurt because of me, I don’t know that I could live with myself.”
She shifts her body on the bed so that she’s facing me. “Listen to me, Magnolia Holloway. Blaine is your mate, and I have a sinking suspicion who the others are as well, and it’s not the Alpha heir and Betas of your pack. Plus, your becoming a member of the Stoneridge pack is a win, especially since I just found out over the weekend my family is joining it as well. So, you see, we would all be together.”
“What! Really? Seriously, you’re going to be a part of Blaine’s pack? Holy hell! Do you think Blaine will talk to his father for me?” Suddenly I’m excited about the plan.
“Couldn’t hurt. But I have no doubts about what his answer will be. Give him a call and tell him to get his a*s down here with the other two stooges,” she says, her voice sounding as giddy as I feel.
Letting go of her hand, I stand and walk over to the dresser, where my phone is plugged into the charger. Picking it up, I debate on calling or texting him, but with the way my nerves are eating me up, I decide to just text.
I type, erase, type, erase on repeat before I decide on something simple and send it out to him.
ME: I need to talk to you in my room. You can bring Zeke and Jude. They should hear it as well.
BLAINE: I’ll be there in 20 minutes or less, just waiting on Mr. Suave to finally realize he doesn’t need to take 5 hours to do his hair. If he doesn’t hurry up, I’m grabbing him by the tail and dragging his a*s out of here.
ME: K
Turning back to Wylla, I let out a deep breath. “They’ll be here in a little bit.”
True to Blaine’s word, they were downstairs in less than twenty minutes, ten to be exact. Jude gives me a sly grin. “How are ya feeling, Maggie?” he asks as he moves stealthily across the room, scooping me up in his arms and swinging me around before burying his face in my neck and beginning to nibble on it. A menacing growl comes from behind us, sending him into laughter that vibrates against my skin before he pulls away. ”Calm your wolf, man.”
“Then stay the f**k off my mate like that.”
“Stop, you two. There’s plenty of our girl to go around and make no mistake when I say our girl, I’m meaning she’s all of ours. Now get your muscle-head caveman thinking out of here. Our girl has something to ask Blaine, and I think he’s going to like it.” Wylla steps in, putting them all in their place.
“You have something to ask me? Is that true, princess?” Blaine turns, looking me in the eyes with so much intensity.
“Yeah, um… I was wondering if you would talk to your father about me joining your pack. I know you think we’re mates, but we don’t know that for sure, so if it turns out we’re not, he may not want me to.” “Stop right there.” He makes it over to me in three large strides, taking my hands in his. “First, Magnolia, I don’t just think, I know you’re my mate. My wolf knows you are. Your wolf screams out to me like no other. So we have nothing to worry about there, but my father would welcome you into our pack even if you weren’t my mate. To be honest, I’ve already been talking to him about it, praying to the Goddess that you would finally decide to do it.” The sincerity in Blaine’s voice is so strong, but I need to hear it from his father.
“Really? Is there any way you can ask him, though? I just want to be sure. If he says no, then I’m going to have no choice but to leave school and go somewhere far away from here.”
“The f**k you are. There’s no way you’re leaving me, leaving us. Where you go we go,” Zeke belts out, anger mixed with fear lacing his words. “Blaine, call your dad so she can hear it for herself or we go pack our bags because I know for a fact if she decides to leave, I’m going with her.”
Everybody turns to look at Blaine to see what he’s going to do. Instead of responding to Zeke’s gruff words, he pulls out his phone, placing it on speaker as he dials a number. We hear the phone ring before an older, deep voice rings out into the room.
“Hello, Son. I wasn’t expecting to hear from you so soon.”
“Hey, Dad, I have the guys, Wylla and Magnolia, my mate I told you about, here. Magnolia has voiced her desire to relinquish her bond to her pack and move to ours. She has some concerns that if it were to come out we’re not mated after the blocks on her are removed, that you wouldn’t let her be part of our pack.”
“That’s nonsense. Can she hear me, Son?”
“I can, Sir,” I say meekly. The power radiating from him, even across the phone line, makes me imagine how strong it would be in person.
“Firstly, it’s an honor to meet you, Magnolia. I have no doubt in my son or his wolf when they say you’re their mate. You are welcome in our pack no matter what. We can start the process now. Knowing the history of your pack, I’m afraid once they find out you’re planning to defect to another pack, they’ll come to take you back, potentially locking you away. So I will begin working on a plan for that and let Blaine know. Just know, you are always welcome in the Stoneridge pack. Does that ease your worries?”
“Yes, Sir, it does. Thank you so much.”
Blaine takes him off speakerphone and says a few more things to him in hushed tones.
Wylla walks up to me, lifting her finger and letting it travel along my jawline. “See, told you that you were worrying yourself for no reason.” A heavy knock at the door stops her from saying any more. Being the closest she turns and takes the three steps to the door, opening to see a man dressed in a matching brown shirt and pants with a small package in his hand and an electronic pad.
“I have a delivery for a Magnolia Holloway. Are you her?” he asks, as his eyes travel the length of Wylla’s body, setting off a rage in me that someone else is looking at what’s mine. Why the hell did I just think that?
“That’s me,” I call out, stepping forward in apprehension.
He hands the package to me and I take it in my hands. “If you could just sign here for me that you got it.” He never once takes his eyes off of Wylla. Pissed, I snatch the tablet from him, immediately scribbling my name on it, and shove it back at him before slamming the door in his face.
If the looks on their faces weren’t concerned for what was just delivered, I think every single one of the fuckers including Wylla would have died from laughter at my reaction. Ignoring them all, I walk over to the bed and look at the box. There’s no return address to give me a clue as to who the hell it’s from. Taking a seat on my bed, I begin to open the box slowly, feeling four sets of eyes burning a hole right through me.
Taking a deep breath, I peel the tape off and open the flaps to find a cell phone with a charger and a note on white stationary paper with the logo of my pack on it. Taking the note out, I set the box to the side as I open and read it.
Magnolia,
Once you are in a safe location where you can talk freely without anyone overhearing, call the saved number in the contacts. We have a lot to talk about and not much time.
-J
Immediately, I know who it’s from; the note is in the same handwriting and the signature used matches the last note he gave me, Jeremiah. But what is his game? Can I trust him? Blaine storms over, impatient as ever, and pulls the note from my hand, reading it. “Is this the wolf that touched you, whose scent was all over your body? The Beta who thinks he can take what is mine?”
“It’s Jeremiah, yes. What should I do? Should I call it and find out what his angle is?”
“Yes, but remember, don’t give away too much information until we know whether or not we can trust him.” Wylla moves over and sits beside me as Blaine stomps back and forth across the room, steam fuming from his head as he crumbles the note up in his hand.
“The f**k she is. There’s no way in hell, my wolf or I are going to let her speak to him. F**k that shit, I won’t allow it.”
“Excuse me. I will do what I want. I’m done being controlled by men. If he knows something that may be important, I need to find out. For all I know, Alpha Johnson and my father could be on their way here now to drag me out of this school, kicking and screaming.” I’ve finally grown a backbone, and there isn’t a man who is going to tell me what to do any f*****g more. I immediately click over to the contacts, seeing the only one saved, J, and text that I’m free to talk.
Ten minutes later, Blaine is still sulking in the corner while Jude, Zeke, and Wylla find humor in his wet dog attitude. When the phone rings, I jump at the sound and immediately lift it to my ear and answer, “Hello.”
