Salute To The General -
Chapter 3384 Eager To Return
"But he's too naïve. If his secret identity gets exposed and he falls from grace, Wallera might not be his sanctuary. He ultimately belongs with the vampires." The eyes of several vampire guards lit up.
Although Nathan killed Herod, the tradition of the vampires had always been to respect the strong.
Moreover, Nathan successfully challenged Herod as a vampire before becoming the vampire king in a fair manner.
In the eyes of the vampires at present, Nathan was their king.
The vampires were currently weak, and the Curia would love nothing more than to drive them to extinction.
At this critical juncture of survival, they desperately needed a powerful king like Nathan to return and lead them out of their predicament.
So after they heard Lyanna's analysis, they understood that he would ultimately return to them after his fall from grace.
They became excited.
One of the vampires couldn't help but suggest, "If that's the case, why don't we just reveal the king's secret so he will fall from grace in the human world? That way, we can force him to return to us." Right after he spoke, Lyanna turned around, her eyes piercingly sharp as she stared at this vampire guard.
The vampire guard met Lenna's gaze, and in an instant, it was as if he was plunged into an icy cave. A chill enveloped his body, and he had difficulty breathing.
His voice was trembling in fear as he said, "Ms. Lyanna..."
Lyanna's gaze turned piercingly cold, her voice matching the chill as she uttered her words deliberately, "Take heed of this admonition. Among vampires, the hierarchy is rigidly enforced and reverence for ranks is mandatory. Loyalty to the king must be unwavering. If the king decrees kneeling, we must not stand. If the
King orders death, we cannot cling to life. Thus, speaking such treasonous words that cast doubt upon the king, let alone entertaining such thoughts, is strictly forbidden. Should you dare to repeat this grave error, I shall personally ensure your demise."
The vampire guards hurriedly responded, "Yes, Ms. Lyanna."
Lyanna was satisfied with their response, and her expression slightly softened.
She glanced in the direction where Firedrake One disappeared into the horizon and slowly said, "But you don't need to worry. We could never expose the king's secret or betray him, but that isn't the case for humans. I've recently noticed. the Curia seems to be growing suspicious of the King's identity. That sly fox, Pope Eugene IV, even appears to be subtly probing the King." The truth will come to light. Sooner or later, the king's secret will be revealed. When that time comes, he may face betrayal."
Among the guards, one who was particularly bold asked, "So, what should we do?"
Lyanna calmly said, "We shall exercise patience. Let us embark on a journey to Eurasia, discreetly observing the unfolding events. As the king's hidden secret is unveiled and he faces abandonment by all, during his most arduous hour, we wiftresurface. We will beseech him to return to our fold and assume leadership in this critical juncture."
Upon hearing this, the vampires grew excited and declared, "Yes! We'll make the preparations to travel to Eurasia now."
Lyanna nodded. "Go ahead! Be extremely careful not to reveal your identity, otherwise you'll attract the relentless pursuit of the Curia and also incur the displeasure of the king."
Her subordinates responded, "Understood."
After all the guards had left, Lyanna stood alone at the mountain peak, gazing at the sky in the east. She softly said, "Oh, my king, how long do you expect us to wait for you? Even though the vampires have long lives, I still hope you won't keep us waiting too long. These are tough times for us, and we need you to return and lead us."
At the same time, Nathan is currently aboard Firedrake One, on his way back to Eurasia.
These past few days, he had been uneasy.
However, the thought of returning home soon to see his wife and his newborn son swept away his gloom. His spirits lifted greatly, and he was eager to return.
