Chapter 547 Disappointment

1/4

Since this was a matter between Dante and Anne, Meryl felt like

an outsider and couldn't say too much. Of course, she couldn't betray Anne's trust either.

Meryl replied, "I don't know."

"How can you not know? You're Anne's best friend! She tells you everything!" Dante's eyes were scarlet. "It's my child, right? Meryl, just nod and tell me!" Meryl was swayed by him.

Chandler forcefully pulled Dante away, positioning himself protectively in front of Meryl.

"Why are you pushing her, Dante? If we weren't friends, I'd have punched you by now," Chandler said, taking Meryl's hand and holding her in his arms.

He continued, "Meryl is pregnant, and she's understandably emotional because of what's going on between you two. Who are you to question her? If you want answers, ask Anne yourself!"

Chandler looked down at Meryl, worry etched across his face. "Are you okay?"

Meryl shook her head slightly.

"Maybe you should sit down and rest a bit?" Chandler

Meanwhile, Rachel, who had been standing nearby, felt increasingly uncomfortable watching it.

Suddenly, she cried out in pain, clutching her forehead while her knees wobbled beneath her.

Chandler frowned, casually asking, "What's wrong?"

Rachel's voice was faint. "I didn't eat breakfast; I think I'm just feeling a bit faint."

As she spoke, she was about to lean into Chandler's arms.

But Chandler shifted aside, a hint of coldness in his gaze as he pulled Walter closer.

Rachel stumbled into Walter's arms instead.

Chandler remained calm. "Then I'll let Walter take you to eat something?"

Walter caught her gently, though his voice held a trace of annoyance. "Mr. Aniston, Ms. Morgan had breakfast. On the way to pick her up from the police station, she ate some toast. I was going to bring it back for my girlfriend after finishing my work." The implication was clear: Walter was upset that Rachel had eaten the toast he had intended for his girlfriend.

Rachel shot Walter a glare.

Chapter 547 Disappointment Chandler's face immediately darkened.

He realized Rachel had been lying to him.

Looking at her with disappointment, he asked, "Rachel, why the act?"

It was the first time Rachel had seen that look from Chandler, and she quickly explained, "Chandler, don't listen to Walter. I didn't eat his food!"

Walter couldn't believe her shamelessness.

She had eaten the toast he bought for his girlfriend and lied

about it.

He retorted, "Ms. Morgan, if you didn't eat it, then did my toast get eaten by a pig?"

Rachel's nose turned red, "Hey, language!"

"Since you say you didn't eat, why are you so anxious?" Walter pressed.

"I." Rachel stammered.

At this moment, Chandler felt quite disappointed.

After piecing everything together, he realized Rachel was up to no good.

Since Rachel had appeared, problems had arisen between him and Meryl-misunderstandings that seemed to multiply.

Chandler could see that, at this rate, Meryl would only grow more distant from him.

He refused to follow in Dalton's footsteps and certainly wouldn't

be fooled by a woman.

Chandler sensed that Rachel's feelings toward him were complicated.

Losing all her relatives at a young age had created a dependency that morphed into a peculiar possessiveness.

This possessiveness made her instinctively hate any women around him-not out of genuine affection.

In just a few minutes, Chandler made a decision.

He took Meryl's hand and said to Rachel, "Stop trying to pull tricks in front of me from now on. It won't work." Write your comment
