Chapter 579 So You Were Faking It?

Felix chuckled lightly. "My legs are useless, Christopher. You've known that for a while, haven't you?"

Christopher's gaze swept over Felix's legs before narrowing in suspicion. "Are they truly damaged, or are you faking it to get out of helping the Powell family?"

Upon hearing this, Keith's expression darkened. "Felix, so this whole time, your so-called disability was just an act?"

Felix remained silent.

Philip's face turned red with anger. "Mr. Powell's condition is true! The hospital has certified it!"

Christopher sneered. "And hospital reports can't be falsified? Wasn't it through forgery and deception that the Powell family rose to prominence in the first place? Besides, since when does a servant like you get to interrupt our conversation?"

Keith's expression grew colder. "Felix, the Powell family has taken care of you all these years, and this is how you repay us? Look at your brothers. They've sacrificed so much for the family. And you? You do nothing but reap the benefits. Now you even pretend to be crippled! Get up now!"

As Keith reached out to grab him, Felix suddenly hurled the glass in front of him onto the floor.

The sharp sound of shattering glass echoed in the room, scattering fragments everywhere.

Felix smiled faintly, but it was a cold, bone-chilling smile. "Demanding a cripple to stand, don't you think that's a bit much?"

Though his voice was calm, it carried a weight that pressed down on everyone in the room. "Have you said enough?" His gaze swept across the two men. "If so, get out."

The room fell into a tense silence. Both of them were momentarily stunned by Felix's commanding demeanor.

Several seconds passed before Christopher found his voice again.

"Felix, how can you speak to Father like that? Sure, you did well with the Walker family, but that doesn't mean you can act so high and mighty. I can take your arrogance, but how dare you tell Father to leave? Do you have no respect for our father?" Felix's eyes were as frosty as ice. His voice, sharp as a blade, cut through the tension in the air.

"I'll say it one more time. Leave."

The last word came out in a shout, reverberating through the room like a thunderclap. Even the beams seemed to tremble under its force.

Keith glared at Felix, clearly on the verge of an outburst, but he restrained himself. Letting out a heavy scoff, he turned and left.

The room was eerily silent. Christopher took two steps closer to Felix.

His smile was unsettling. "Felix, believe it or not, I swear I

wasn't the one who pulled the trigger that night. You're my brother. How could I ever harm you?"

Felix met his gaze head-on. "Christopher, don't worry. If it wasn't you, I won't falsely accuse you. But if it was..."

His

eyes narrowed. "I'll make you pay dearly."

The intensity of Felix's glare forced Christopher to avert his eyes. Without another word, he turned and walked out.

As soon as the door closed, Philip hurried to lock it.

Philip, still fuming, voiced his frustration.

"Mr. Keith Powell is so unreasonable! After you sneaking into the Walker Villa last night and almost losing your life, he acts like this? That wound on your abdomen is proof of how much you've sacrificed, yet he just lets Mr. Christopher Powell mock you like that? They're all in on it together! It's so unfair!"

Felix remained calm. Compared to Philip's indignation, he seemed utterly detached, as though none of it concerned him.

The bathroom door creaked open, and Meryl stepped out.

Philip suddenly remembered her presence and immediately fell silent. With an embarrassed nod, he exited the room to stand guard outside.

The room fell into a prolonged silence, broken only by Meryl's gaze lingering on Felix's face.
