Secret Admiration: Finding True Love After....
Chapter 584 How Is This Possible?

That night, Meryl stayed late in the music classroom to practice her cello,
With the internal selection competition drawing close and her bet with Christine, she couldn't afford to slack off.
Since Christine could become the principal cellist of the orchestra, it proves that she still has some real skills.
Though Harvey often gave Meryl private lessons, no one else in the orchestra knew just how far her skills had progressed.
The classroom was deserted at this hour, and the quiet surroundings allowed Meryl to focus completely.
She poured herself into her practice, oblivious to the fact that someone outside had just passed by.
As the principal cellist, Christine could tell that the person's skill was quite profound. Several of the vibratos were deeply moving and perfectly executed.
Her pace slowed instinctively.
As the orchestra's principal, Christine immediately recognized the depth of skill in the performance. The vibrato was rich and evocative, and the emotional nuances were perfectly balanced. Chapter 584 How Is This Possible?

She had never known before that there was someone in the orchestra whose cello playing could rival hers and even surpass her in expressing the emotion of the piece,
Curious, Christine edged closer to the door and peeked inside, When she saw that the person playing, was Meryl, her face turned ashen,
She thought, "How is this possible?!
Meryl's playing was never like this before!
Her technique was so rough back then, and she even missed a few notes occasionally. How long has it been? How could she have improved so much?
If this is the case, then the internal selection..."
Christine clenched her fists, jealousy flashing in her eyes.
She thought to herself, "It's different when Mr. Herty is personally guiding her.
But why her? It's all because of her money, isn't it?"
The more Christine thought about it, the more resentful she became. She vowed to expose Meryl's true colors, to humiliate her in front of everyone, and to show the orchestra what kind of person she really was. The internal selection was scheduled to take place at a nearby concert hall.

To familiarize themselves with the process, the participants who registered would go to the concert hall to practice a day in
advance.
Harvey had been giving Meryl some private coaching in his office, and their conversation ran longer than expected. As a result, she missed the main group heading to the concert hall.
Left with no choice, Meryl called a cab to get there. Luckily, the venue wasn't far, just two bus stops away.
The concert hall was empty since no performances were scheduled for the day. While the rest of the orchestra was well-acquainted with the venue, this was Meryl's first visit.
Entering through the front doors, she made her way backstage. After navigating a maze of hallways, she finally located her assigned dressing room. Finding nothing unusual inside, she decided to retrace her steps and leave. But as she walked through the hallway, a sudden click echoed behind her. It sounded like a door being locked.
A wave of unease washed over Meryl. She quickened her pace, heading toward the sound, but by the time she reached the door, it was already locked from the outside.
Suspecting that whoever had locked it couldn't have gone far, she shouted, "Hello? Is anyone there? Someone's still inside!"
Her voice rang out, but no response came from the other side.

She thought, "That doesn't make sense, she thought, glancing at her watch. It's barely getting dark."
When she arrived earlier, the security desk had been staffed,
and she'd even asked what time the doors would be locked. She was told it wouldn't happen until after 8 p.m.
It was only 7:30 now. Even with the time spent wandering through the unfamiliar corridors, she still had at least ten minutes to spare.
Meryl suddenly realized that the door had been deliberately closed from the outside.
Heart pounding, Meryl grabbed her phone to call for help. But when she checked the screen, there was no signal.
