244. Tyson - Revelations V

"Took you long enough," Jasper mutters. "I was all in from the beginning."

"I wish Olivia were here to see Tyson and Rueben finally make the right decision to be with her before I played the videos," Ansel says. "I warn you that some videos are really disturbing." Suddenly, my heart hammers in my chest. "Play them," I say.

I grab an ottoman and sit in front of the TV while Ansel plays the first video-it's of Olivia and Camila in a home office. The video has no sound, so I squint my eyes to make sense of the images. Bookcases are on three of the four walls, and the girls look at the book but can't decide which one to read. Maybe they are looking for a specific one, but they can't find it? Since I can't hear their conversations, I can only try to guess. Plus, their backs are to the camera, so reading their lips is impossible.

I guess they hear something since they rush to find a place to hide. Seconds later, one of the bookcases moves to the side, revealing a secret chamber, and the girls get inside. I hold my breath as the bookcase returns to its original position just as Senator Deymar and a man enter the office. They are so absorbed in their conversation that they don't realize what just happened.

"Olivia told Cirro and me that the man is Azael. At least the vessel he was using at that time. She believes that Azael changes his vessels often, in an attempt to hide his identity," Ansel says. I nod because that makes sense. "I won't waste time by forcing you all to watch the discussion between the Senator and Azael. They made sure their faces were away from the camera, so we don't know what was said. Cirro believes the Senator deliberately cut out the sound that night, but he might have wanted to have proof of the encounter between the two of them."

"Senator Deymar having a secret meeting with Azael is of great importance, and we need to find out what they were talking about," Jasper says.

Ansel changes the video. "I suspect Olivia might have heard the conversation but since someone chased her away, I can't ask."

"I'm sorry. What else do you want me to say?" Rueben huffs.

"Start by not being an ass anymore," I give him an idea.

The video starts.

It's still of the home office and shows Olivia and Camila getting out from behind the bookcase. The Senator and Azael are not there anymore. Camila has her arms wrapped around her while Olivia tries to act natural. Even with my shitty sight, I can tell she is nervous.

"Does she have something tucked in her jacket?" Jasper asks.

"Two daggers," Ansel says.

The word daggers doesn't ring a bell to me, but Rueben, on the other hand, knows something. "Two daggers!? Don't tell me...."

"The ones in the armory closet," Ansel replies.

"So, why are they important?" Jasper wants to know.

Ansel puts another video. "They can kill demons or angels. Now, I don't have images of what the girls did next with the daggers, but from what Olivia told me, the same night she and Camila hid them. The place was not safe, and they ended up moving them several times before they found a...way to make sure the Senator would never find them."

The video starts.

Olivia is in her room, studying at her desk. I lean forward until my face is almost glued to the TV screen and watch her frown. She always does it when she's deep in her thoughts.

The door to her room opens and in enters Jason. My demon tenses as Jason goes directly to Olivia and grabs her by her hair and pulls her to her feet.

*"Stealing from Father was really stupid of you. Did you think I wouldn't find out?"* Jason keeps his tone low, but he is more than angry.

Olivia plays dumb. *"I don't know what you're talking about."*

Jason snorts, *"You're lucky I saw the videos before Father did. But you know he will eventually find out. You have until morning to bring them back, else there will be consequences and not the kind you will like."*

Olivia turns pale. *"What are you planning?"*

*"Nothing bad if you return the daggers."*

Olivia shakes her head. *"They belong to Camila. They responded to her."* Her eyes go wide as she realizes what she said. *"I took them because they are pretty."*

*"She's a hellstar? Father wasn't lying when he said hellstars were being born again."*

Olivia shoves Jason away from her. *"Leave Camila out of this. I'm the one who took the daggers, so if you want to punish someone, you can do so, but I warn you, I won't say a word about where they are."* Jason smirks. *"You will talk. But I'll make sure to make you suffer a great deal before you do spill the beans."*

*"Why do you hate me so much?"*

*"Because you were born,"* Jason says before leaving.
