Shackled (The Lord Series) by Carlos
275. Mose/Demon - The twin II

Hearing his name makes me so angry because I now see how manipulative he can be. He even tricked God into giving him a chance to prove that he was ashamed of what he did.

Even our fight-I won't even call it that was a mockery to him. He sees me beneath him, weak and pathetic. That's why he tried to take my woman and give her to another male. Even if Mose had never sacrificed himself, I would have probably taken control of his body by force, but that would have had consequences that I don't want to think about.

My twin is not dead, not even wounded, but I did kill the vessel he was using now. I assume he is not happy about it, and it will slow him down until he finds another human to steal his body from him.

No wonder Lucifer locked himself in Hell after what happened. He felt like he couldn't trust anyone anymore, not even God.

Olivia called me caveman. For some reason, it rubbed me the wrong way. I fought to keep her safe, and she only sees me just like any other human does an evil creature with no feelings who only wants to kill because that's my true nature, so I spanked her. She couldn't be more wrong. Sure, I'll kill for her, but what I truly want is to be with her in the Garden of Eden. And to get my name back.

I continue to walk behind the dead guy who tried to kiss my mate. No male except Mose or his blood-brothers have the right to touch Olivia, press their mouths to hers, or fuck her. After I experienced my first kiss, I'm even more enraged that the male in front of me hit on my mate.

'Friend,' Olivia called him.

Dead man walking is what I call him. It's just a matter of time before I kill him.

My lips tingle, and I resist the urge to touch them or kiss Olivia again.

I don't even know why I kissed her. Probably because it's what Mose would have done. He enjoyed kissing very much. And getting his cock sucked by Olivia, or fuck her sweet pussy, as he called it.

Thinking about it makes me semi-hard, but I ignore my cock as I have to get Olivia out of this fucking place. Once we are back at the farm, I'll see for myself if being inside her is as amazing as Mose claimed.

The alarm seems to be growing louder and louder, making my head pound. It's been a long time since I experienced pain. It was different when I had an immortal body, as I would heal fast, the pain was only a nuisance.

My growls of annoyance make Olivia huff. "What crawled up your ass this time?"

I won't even know where to begin.

We make it to the first floor without running into any enemies. Guards wait for us at the bottom of the stairs, fully armed. They know they're going to die, and they want a last fight. The dead man stops in the middle of the staircase, too scared to move. The guards don't open fire. They wait and see what our first move will be.

The clock is ticking; otherwise, I would have enjoyed showing them what real fear means. I make Olivia stand, and after I snarl, "Stay," to her and the dead man, I launch myself at the guards.

They are not as fast as I am, and bones snap under my fingers, necks break, and hearts stop beating. Everything is over in a few seconds. They don't even have a chance to scream. The last guard to stand can't even scream as I yank his spine free.

Olivia looks at me, her eyes narrowed. "You have a problem."

More than one, but now is not the time to talk about them.

"Bomb," I remind her, and I go to her. The dead man takes a step back as I throw Olivia over my shoulder. "Walk," I growl at him.

"You do know that being a cannibal can kill you. Especially if you eat the human brain." Olivia's comments make no sense to me, as I don't consume human flesh.

The dead guy leads me to the garage. A group of about twenty men is gathered there, trying to open the door manually. One of them, with the number 919 tattooed on his face, has a sledgehammer in his arms and is hitting the door. He appears to be strong, but he won't open that door in time.

"Fuck!" **919** yells after hitting the door again.

"Step. Aside." My snarl has all the attention on me.

**919** faces me. He pits with the sledgehammer at me. "Who are you?" A moment later, he notices Olivia. "Let her go."

I narrow my eyes and get ready to fight for my woman. "Mine. Mate." My growls are louder than the alarm.

"Shit. You're a demon," someone says.

Took them long enough to notice.

My gaze quickly goes from man to man. "Mine," I repeat as I tap Olivia's thighs before having her sit on the hood of a car and stand in front of her, my back to her.

"I think you made that loud and clear the first time," she grumbles.

I want to be sure everyone understands because I'm not repeating myself again. Instead, I'll kill anyone who dares to touch my mate.

"Move," I tell them.

**919** snorts. "You want to fight me?"

I don't get to reply as Olivia says, "He's with me." I smirk, because my woman is not afraid to claim me in front of others. "He probably wants to open the door. You should let him try." She stands and touches my arm. "He might not look that strong, but he pulled a guard's spine through his mouth. Maybe he can yank the door free."

**919** looks impressed. "Do you need the sledgehammer?"

The men back away from the door.

"No," I say as I get to work, anxious to get my mate out of this place.

A sudden explosion almost deafens me. A thick cloud of dust quickly rises in the air, and I throw myself on top of Olivia. We fall to the floor, my hands cradling her head, my body shielding her. My ears ring, and I try to clear my head. Everything becomes confusing. The need to protect my mate is overwhelming.

Something hits me in the back, and pain spreads all over my body. I stay still, afraid that Olivia will be hurt if I move.

Everything becomes blurred, and I tighten my grip on Olivia.

A dark silhouette appears to my left, and I turn my head towards it. A shotgun is pointed at me. I move but not fast enough as the bullet hits me in the chest, in the same place my twin stabbed me. My strength leaves me. The impact throws me on my back.

Is this my end?

I failed my mate.

Maybe Azael was right all along. I'm not as strong as I thought. Or maybe Mose's body is too weak, too human. Who knows.

Olivia kneels next to me. She says something to me but I can't hear her because of the constant ring in my ears. I raise up my hand and brush my fingers against her cheek. "Beautiful," I say before my eyes close.
