wake up from the dream he was sure he was having.
Jaden stared into Emma's eyes, his mind racing to process her words. Was this real? Was she really standing before him, her arms securely wrapped around his waist, telling him she was ready to be his girlfriend? He blinked, almost afraid that if he moved or spoke, he'd But this wasn't a dream. The softness of her hug, the steady beat of her heart against his chest, it was all real.
His gaze locked onto hers, those brown eyes he had fallen in love with long ago. His heart skipped a beát, then another, as her words echoed within his mind.
"I want us to try," Emma said, her voice barely above a whisper and the morning sun lit her smile.
His breath hitched; his chest felt a crushing surge of emotions that he didn't even have a name for. Was this what love felt like? Real, unfiltered love? It coursed through every molecule that made up his very soul with such great intensity. He had waited for this moment, dreamed about it, ached from wanting it through endless nights and now it was here.
Emma's grip around his waist tightened, and he was anchored back to reality, where, in that moment, he lost the last of his self-control. Without thinking, without hesitating, Jaden leaned in, his lips capturing hers in a kiss that was as desperate as it was passionate. The world around them melted away. The murmurs of the coffee shop faded into nothingness, the curious gazes of bystanders ceased to matter. None of that existed anymore as her lips lay softly warm against his. she was everything he wanted. This was not a kiss like the one they had last night. This kiss was raw, full of promises he could not yet say. It was his way of telling her how much she meant to him, how much he had longed for her, how she was his everything.
His hands moved to cradle her face, his thumb stroking against her cheek as he deepened the kiss, one that spoke volumes of months of bottled-up emotions, nights spent yearning for her and the dreams he had dared to dream of them. When they finally broke apart, both were gasping for air. Emma's cheeks were flushed, her lips swollen, and the smile on her face melted him all over again.
"You have no idea what you mean to me," Jaden whispered, his voice husky with emotion.
Emma laughed softly, her fingers still clutching his shirt as if she was scared to let go. "You're not so bad yourself," she teased softly.
Jaden grinned, his heart soaring. Without another word, he took her hand in his, lacing their fingers together as he gently pulled her toward the door. Ignoring the gawking customers and wide-eyed baristas, he led her to his car. Once inside, Jaden turned to her, his expression earnest and unguarded.
"I love you, Emma," he said, his voice steady but filled with an almost childlike vulnerability.
Emma leaned into him, her eyes brimming with tears that wouldn't fall. She reached out, and her fingers skimmed across his cheek as she whispered, "I love you too, Jaden."

Alexander entered the hospital, pulling a cap over his face, careful to avoid anyone spotting him.
The thought of being seen in a competitor's hospital didn't sit well with him. As he walked briskly through the sterile hallways, he couldn't help but feel a pang of irritation. Why had Annie chosen this hospital, knowing full well that his own was more equipped. The nurse pointed him toward Annie's room, and as he pushed the door open, his gaze fell on her, Annie was lying pale and

frail in bed, hooked to adrip. Her eyes fluttered open at the sound of the door, and when she saw him, a wave of relief washed over her face.
"Alexander," she whispered hoarsely.
He said nothing but stood rigidly at the foot of her bed. Anger and concern mixed in his chest. No matter how much he was angry with Annie, a glimpse of her in such a fragile state pulled at something deep inside.
A few minutes later, the doctor entered the room with a clipboard in his hands. He greeted Alexander and started explaining Annie's condition.
"Miss Annie had some spotting this morning, possibly due to emotional distress," the doctor said in a measured tone. "At all costs, she must avoid strenuous activities and any further emotional stress if she wants the baby to be safe.. Alexander's gaze finally laid back on Annie.
How pale and sad she looked; for the first time that day, he felt guilty. Perhaps he had been too harsh on her the night before. As much as his frustration lingered, the thought of anything happening to their child was unbearable. Turning to the doctor, Alexander's voice went crisp and authoritative. "Transfer her file to my hospital I want her monitored by my best team." The doctor looked uneasy, his eyes darting to Annie as he began to stammer, "Mr. Black, I..." "I said, transfer her file," Alexander reiterated, not leaving any room for arguments. Annie sprang into action, intervening as fast as possible. "I prefer this hospital, Alexander."
He turned to her, his face unreadable, but his jaw clenched in frustration.
Annie sighed and waved her hand at the doctor to leave the room.
She hitched herself up a bit, her tone low and defiant once they were alone. "I'm tired of stepping into spaces where I'm not wanted. You don't want me at your hospital. You don't want me near your mother. Fine. I'll stay here. I'm comfortable here." "This isn't about you, Annie," Alexander snapped, he moved closer toward the bed. "Do you even realize how this looks? If word gets out that you're not being treated at another hospital."
"Then let's make sure no one finds out," Annie cut in, sharper this time. "But I'm not changing hospitals, Alexander. End of discussion."
He sniffed, taking a deep breath as his nostrils flared with a vain attempt to control the frustration within him. He was too exhausted to argue further. "Fine," he grumbled, turning away. "But don't expect me to be cool with this forever." Later that evening, Alexander returned to their, room, while telling himself it was best for their child.
However, their reunion was very short-lived, as he opened his phone to go through what was happening on the Internet and managed to open a video of Emma and Jaden.
The video showed Jaden kissing Emma. The kiss wasn't just casual on the lips; it was a real passionate one unlike any Alexander had ever seen before.
The tempest inside him brewed, of jealousy and anger, as he tightened his grip on the phone. His bit his bottom lip in anger as he cursed Jaden in his mind. He wished he could get that video off his brain.
