"Wouldn't putting her under my care inside my hospital put her life in danger?" Alex said in a low growl.

wanted to hurry her, you wouldn't have called me." Emma replied, choosing her words wisely. "What do you want?" Emma is asking, taking the seat opposite. Even though she has appeared so ordinarily to most people, she was still a business tycoon, one of the most feared businesswomen in the whole world. Her mother had trained her well, and she was proud of that.

Alexander looked at her sudden boldness, amused. Even though this was the same Emma he divorced five years ago, there was something different about her. Something he couldn't quite pinpoint out yet, but it was only a matter of time.

"I have a couple of questions to ask you and have a job for you."

Emma swallowed hard, nervously, although her face looked serious. "I'm all ears."

"What is your relationship with the Walkers'? I saw you in her arms that day at the hospital, and they made contact with me all because of your daughter. Who are you, Emma?"

Emma swallowed hard. Sheh has seen this question coming and has prepared well for it. I'm Mrs. Elizabeth's personal assistant. That's who I am."

"What are you talking about?" Emma asked, giving her a side glance.

"Considering the fact that you cheated on me." Alex said his voice raised coldly.

"I didn't cheat on you!" Emma replied aggressively. She has heart enough of these accusations.

"Then tell me how you came across those twins!" Alexander thundered. "Your husband might not have noticed me, but I sas him at the flower shop the next day after you disappeared. "You left with everything in your apartment," Alexander said. Emma was shocked, dumbfounded by Alexander's words. What does he mean ran away? Wasn't he the one that sent those boys to pack out her properties?

Emma walked out of the office with a satisfied grin. She grabbed her kids and headed back to the reception

"Mrs. Black!" A familiar voice called. Emma turned around, and she smiled as her gaze fell on Kevin. Even though Alexander was a certified asshole, Kevin was a great person, and he was one of the few people she really missed. "Hey Kevin!" She said, dropping her kids and giving Kevin a hug It's so nice to see you again."
