With a playful smile, Diana replied, “Of course! If you think it’ll be too uncomfortable for you, you’re welcome to stay behind. After all, she is Queenie’s mother.”

“I did mention I’d marry Queenie, but that was before she saved my life. If she hadn’t saved me, I wouldn’t feel obligated to marry her. So there’s really no need for you to tease me.”

“Oh, so now you can tell when I’m teasing? You’ve been the one teasing me this whole time!”

“Because you don’t actually need your husband’s help right now,” Steven replied, clearly not in the mood to be overly

generous.

He looked at her pointedly and added, “Just take the child back to the nanny. I know what you’re up to. My card can open that door over there, but once this is over, we need to have a serious

conversation.

“Bringing the baby along to catch them in the act could get messy if the child starts crying.”

Faced with his teasing gaze, Diana felt at a loss for words. Deep down, she wanted him to leave.
