"Alex, you need to explain yourself right now. I won't tolerate this!" Richard's expression darkened with anger as he pointed at Alex and scolded him. Richard had once held Alex in high regard as his favorite grandson-in-law, but the unfolding events had left him devastated.

He had just witnessed his granddaughter leave with tears streaming down her face. Alex's actions had. demonstrated a blatant disregard for the Grants.

sorry, Old Mr. Grant. I never intended for any of this to happen. I..." Alex rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

There seemed to be little he could do or say at this point. After everything that had transpired, he knew that few people would believe him even if he told them the truth. Alex desperately wanted to go after Maggie, but with these people blocking his path, he felt utterly helpless.

The thought of forcefully making his way through briefly crossed his mind, but he hesitated, unsure of how to handle Richard should he decide to proceed.

"Don't think you can mend things with just an apology. Alex, you're the most outstanding man I have ever met, but what you're doing is simply wrong," Richard chided.

He had been thrilled to witness his granddaughter's marriage to Alex. In his eyes, Alex had appeared to be the perfect match-youthful, capable, and a Master.

Richard had even chosen to overlook Alex's previous marriage and child, hoping that he would cherish. and bring happiness to Maggie.

However, the unexpected arrival of a woman and a baby girl at their wedding exposed Alex's past infidelity.

If Alex could cheat on his previous wife, Heather, during their marriage, what guarantee was there that he wouldn't do it again with Maggie? Richard refused to marry off his granddaughter to a cheater regardless of his capabilities.

"Old Mr. Grant, I promise to explain everything to you in due course. But for now, please let me pass. I need to find Maggie. I'm worried about her emotional well-being." Alex pleaded as panic washed over him.

Richard stood his ground, blocking Alex's path. He said in a firm tone, "Do not concern yourself with Maggie I have already dispatched my men to locate her. What I demand from you is an immediate and satisfactory explanation. Failure to provide one will result in the Grants considering you an enemy, and I will withdraw my thirty billion investment from the tech dome."

Alex's frustration grew as he grappled with the gravity of his situation. He realized that explaining himself and funding a solution seemed nearly impossible

Kate walked over right then. She reached out to tap Alex's shoulder gently and said in a soft voice, "Alex, I just wanted to see you one last time. I never intended for any of this to happen. I'm deeply sorry. It's all my fault."

She then turned to Richard and addressed him respectfully. "Old Mr. Grant, I'm Kate from the Sutton family in Lumenopolis. I believe you may be familiar with our name, correct?"
