Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 17

Xander’s POV

I walked up to my room talking with my mom and gave her another big hug before I stepped inside.

“Thank you mom.”

“You are welcome and just know I will do whatever I can to help.”

I walked into my room and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to sleep or take a shower first. I decided a shower was first, since I know I smell bad from the dungeon.

“Jax you there.”

“Ya.”

“How do I move on and let Sophia have my heart? I have worked so hard to build a wall I don’t know how to let it down and let her in.”

“I am not sure because I already love her. I think maybe if you started slow and had an actual conversation with her to start with. You need to earn her trust and you’re going to have to do it publicly because she won’t be alone with us. I am truly sorry about that. It’s my fault.”

“No it’s not. If I wouldn’t have been hell bent on rejecting her this never would have happened.”

“Let’s get some sleep so we can grovel at Kane’s feet!”

“I will apologize, but I won’t grovel.”

” OH you will and I’m sure he will make sure of it.”

I finished up my shower and crashed on my bed. I slept the entire day and night. I didn’t realize I was tired, but now I’m starving and they should have breakfast out.

I got downstairs and started to fix my plate when Clarissa made her way over to me. I needed to get rid of her fast. I don’t need anyone thinking anything.

“Hey, baby, where have you been?” She said as she pushed her body up against mine like she had a right to.

I moved her aside and said “that is none of your business. You need to leave me alone from now on. You are not allowed on any of the upper floors and whatever was between us is done. Am I clear?”

“Why are you being like this? I thought I was going to be your Luna?”

“You were never going to be my Luna. You filled a need for me and I shouldn’t have let it go on like it did, so I apologize but it is now done.”

She just looked at me with tears in her eyes and stormed off to sit with her friends.

I made a huge plate of food and went to sit at my table. I sat down and had just started eating when her smell hit me. Lilies and chocolate. s**t, what am I going to do? Stay or run.

“Jax, what do we do?”

“Stay I want to stare at her all day. She is so beautiful.”

I finally looked up and saw her walking in with Kane. She really is so beautiful and those eyes. I could get lost in those eyes. I was staring like a love sick puppy when she caught my scent and was looking for me. When her eyes finally landed on me she froze in fear and reached out for Kane. She looked like she was going to run away.

“Are you good? I want to bring her over. She needs to be around you, but I’m telling you now she is absolutely terrified and if even so much as look at her wrong I will kill you.” Kane mind linked me.

“I am good and I promise Jax is fully under control. Also, we need to talk after breakfast.”

He didn’t reply but I continued to watch them. She had a death grip on his arm and looked ready to bolt at the first sign of danger. They finally got their plates fixed and headed my way.

They sat down and it took awhile. Kane had to convince her it was fine.

“Sophia, I want to apologize to you. What happened yesterday has never happened before and will never happen again. My wolf took control and, well, I have no excuse.”

I reached out to touch her arm while I spoke to her. She didn’t see it, as her head was down looking at her plate. When I made contact, she jumped and cowered into Kane. He pulled her close and kissed the top of her head, reassuring her everything was fine.

Goddess that should have been me but I screwed that up. I had to make it right.

“Sophia, please look at me, I whispered.”

She looked up at me for just a brief second but it was enough to stop my heart. The terrified look was enough to kill me. How could I do that to her? I’m an a*s hole.

“Sophia, I would never hurt you on purpose. Please give me a chance to show you.”

Again she just looked down and didn’t say anything but started to eat.

“Kane, can we meet after breakfast please?”

“Wow, I got a please and everything.”

“Ya, you deserve it and more. Let’s finish this later.”

He just nodded his head at me and kept eating.

Clarissa thought for some reason she was welcome at our table even after everything I told her 10 minutes ago. She came and sat practically on top of me.

I scooted over and asked “Clarissa, what are you doing?”

“I just like to be next you and I know you like it too. I just can’t get enough of your body.” She said as she ran her hands up and down my arm.

“Who are you?” Asked Clarissa.

Sophia didn’t answer or even look up.

“Hey mutt, I asked who you were and why you think you can sit here?”

I was fuming mad and wanted to kill Clarissa but I didn’t want to scare Sophia further. So I did the only thing I could think of and asked Kane “how is training going?”

He said it was “fine” and kept eating, shooting daggers at me the whole time.

Clarissa was talking about someone’s birthday party and asked if I would go with her. That caught her attention and she looked at me waiting for me to answer.

“Clarissa, we will discuss that later.”

When I said that, Sophia got up with a hurt look on her face and left the table. She didn’t even eat. She is still so under weight that she can’t afford to miss meals, I thought.

“Listen d**k head you better get this b***h in line or, we are going to have an even bigger problem!” Kane said.

I can’t believe he would talk to me that way but I did deserve it. He had no reason to respect me right now. He got up, pushing his food away and stormed after Sophia.

“Are you going to allow him to talk about me that way, Xander?”

“My office now.” Was the only thing I could get out. She knew I was pissed but had a hopeful look in her eyes.

I finished more of my meal before I went to deal with Clarissa.

“Kane, I am going to handle Clarissa right now and she won’t be a problem any more. How is Sophia?”

“She is confused, she doesn’t know why that affected her and, well, she thinks you’re the biggest a*s hole in the world and I have to agree. Let me know when your done because we’re going to have that talk.”

I didn’t bother to reply back and headed for my office. I had to stop myself before entering because I was ready to kill her.

I opened the door to my office and slammed the door. Clarissa had stripped down to her barely there bra and thong. She was spread eagle on my couch rubbing her p***y.

“What the f**k are you doing?”

How could I think she was attractive and I actually slept with her. Now she just makes me sick. Everything about her does. Her looks, her smell, and the way she thinks she can control me and how she treats people. She is just vile.

“Come on Alpha, you know you want me.”

I grabbed her clothes and threw them at her. “Get dressed now.” I yelled.

I went and sat at a chair in front of my desk. She came over dressed in a slutty skirt and shirt. She tried to sit in my lap and I had to push her into her own chair.

“Clarissa, I already told you this morning to leave me and any ranked member alone and you didn’t listen.”

“It’s because of that slutty she wolf isn’t it? You’ve always wanted me until she showed up but if memory serves right, you tied me up and f****d me the night she arrived so she can’t be your mate so what is it?”

I was so f*****g mad I couldn’t stop what happened next. I jumped up grabbing her around the throat and pushing her back all the way in the chair and started to cut her air supply with how hard I was squeezing. Using an Alpha command I told her “Clarissa you are not allowed to approach me or any ranked member with any malicious intent or are you allowed on the upper floors.” I roared in her face.

I dropped her and she slumped over in her chair gasping for air.

She stood up trying to hold her head high saying “you will regret this and I will find out what this b***h is to you and I will destroy her to watch you suffer.”

I grabbed her again threw her on the floor and placed my foot on her chest so she couldn’t move. Once again using my Alpha command “You will have no contact with Sophia and if you break anything I have said today you will be banished from this pack.”

I removed my foot and opened the door for her to leave.

She got up crying and ran out of my office.

I went and sat down at my desk trying to calm myself before I mind linked Kane.

I sat there for about five minutes trying to clear my mind and not be angry for when Kane got here.

I finally felt ready to face Kane and sent him a mind link “ready.” I didn’t hear back from him but I knew he would be here in a few minutes.

Not four minutes later my door went flying g opening and an angry looking Kane staring at me.

“Kane sit down so we can talk please.”

“I don’t think so fucker.”

Kane came lunging at me!

He landed on top of me landing blows to my face. I have never seen him so angry before.

“Start acting like a f*****g Alpha and not some heart broken 16 year old. Be a man and step up and be there for her. Stop f*****g Clarissa, god I can smell her arousal in here and I thought you might actually do the right thing finally but apparently not.” He yelled in my face after he stopped hitting me. I deserved the hits and I let him have those but it wasn’t over.

He got off me and started to walk out the door but I grabbed him and started to fight. I landed a few to his face before he tackled me to the ground. We were rolling around hitting each other and yelling when my office door flew open and my dad stood there looking extremely angry.

“What in the hell are you two doing? Sit your a*s down now!”

We both got up and went to the chairs in front of my desk as my dad went behind my desk and just looked between us waiting for someone to start talking.

We both just sat there and didn’t say a thing. I could see my dad was getting impatient with us. “Alright boys, if you don’t want to talk we can go to the cells and lock you in a cell together until you work your s**t out.”

“Kane, I wanted to apologize about the other day and everything that has happened since then. But why did you attack me the second you walked into my office?”

“Because your an i***t and you don’t even know what your doing to Sophia. You are literally killing her. She doesn’t understand what is going on and why she feels drawn to you and then she sees Clarissa coming over acting like she is your Luna and then I walk in and I can smell her arousal in here. Do you not care about Sophia? If not reject her now so she can move on and be free, she deserves it.”

“I didn’t sleep with her here today. I sent her here to Alpha command her to leave me alone and when I walked in she was down to her underwear rubbing her p***y, thinking I would sleep with her.” That had both Kane and my dad groaning in disgust.

“Are you going to reject Sophia?”

“No, but I am having a hard time moving on. Jax took control the other day when he saw you guys together because I wouldn’t allow him to have that and he snapped. He loves her and he was angry at me for keeping her away, but that stops now. I am going to try and gain her trust and I am trying to let my heart lead and not my brain because, my brain says we can’t, but I know with time I can and I will.”

“Son, I am glad to hear this. You are going to have to take this so slow and there is more to Sophia than either of you know. I have spoken with my friend and he will be here in 5 days.”

“Why do you have someone coming here for her and why is she special?”

“I am waiting for him to get here to confirm things for me and then we will talk more. Is it also safe to assume that you two are ok now and aren’t going to continue to beat each other?”

“Yes sir.” Said Kane.
