Chapter 10: Thugs

As Shawn woke got up, he looked around, the woods were one of his favorite places and he went there to rest for a bit. He could remember when he was ambushed and his wolf got Injured he had to go to the mountains to exercise and get back his combat skills. He knew he was going to need them someday and it would not be good the day that he might need them, it turns out that his wolf was still hurt what if Hannah was in a situation and needed his help?

He just doesn't want to think about what would happen if Hannah ever needed him someday to protect her and he was not there to help her out. That would hurt him a lot. That was why he had also gone up to the mountains in the woods to make sure that his wolf was on track. As he walked past the woods, he whistled as his feet stepped on fallen leaves and detritus. As he walked past the woods into the street, a few people were staring at him and he wondered why.

"She is getting bullied in her own home" He could hear their conversation, but decided not to pay attention to anything the two men were talking about. It was a pretty small town and so everybody knows everybody. However, Shawn is not a social butterfly who makes friends with everyone that he meets.

"I heard that she is the new bride and stays with her husband, the rogue, and yet she is being bullied by thugs in her husband's home, what a shame"

That time their conversation certainly caught his ear and he halted, it seemed as though the two men were talking about him. When they noticed that he was making their way towards him, they stepped backward scared that he was onto them.

"I just want you to point toward the direction that this woman is being bullied"

There was something about their conversation that caught his ears, he was pretty certain that he hadn't heard of any other couple who got married, he had been the last one so far. That was what he was sure of. The last one of them was him, who was being bullied then? As the men pointed in that direction, his eyes widened and he realized that she was the one who was being bullied by those thugs. He hurried back home, and as he got to the house, he saw Hannah being pushed by those thugs, Hannah looked very weak and easy to be bullied but one thing was clear but was not afraid of these men, she had it in her as her eyes blazed with anger, you could tell that if she had her way, those men would have come in contact with her fists snd nothing else.

"What are you looking at us that way did?* One of the thugs poked her forehead.

She was not scared of them, her wolf was very powerful and despite anything, she would not get frightened or flinch by the likes of them.

"Leave her alone!" Shawn yelled and glared at the thugs, they laughed as they saw him standing there with those eyes. His gaze cold and unblinking, he wanted to devour them yet they thought that he was a joke and he couldn't do a thing to them at all. "Look who decided to join the party?"

"It is Shawn the loser, aren't you going to go back to your little cave, how does it feel now you have lost everything" They were taunting and ridiculing the real Shawn, the one who he had stolen his identity.

"Now you think you have balls to speak, you have forgotten when we beat you up and wet your pants" They all laughed at him. Nevertheless, Shawn chooses not to say anything at All. He knew who they were talking about and he was not the one.

"See! He is not talking, you have a pretty wife, what would you do if we decided to take her? You won't do anything" They laughed. "We might even screw her brains out and make you watch while we make her come, I bet you can't make that happen, can you?"

Hannah was enraged, fury consumed her, they were going too far, and even though she had kept quiet, they were out of their minds by insinuating that they were going to sleep with her and Shawn wouldn't do anything at all. They looked down on her, and she shook her head, choosing not to believe anything that they had said about us.

"Shut your mouth" She pushed the one who seemed to be the leader with everything that she had and he stumbled backwards, almost falling to the ground. "I won't let you come here and disrespect Shawn, now get out of here!"

"Shut your mouth!" He was about to grab her legs when she kicked his knees and hit the other one with a stool.

"You crazy thugs" She spat out

He was about to attack again when she dodged him and threw a hard blow to his nose, he winced.

"You crazy girl"

Right there, Shawn knew that he could not stay away from the show for too as his adrenaline rushed up, and his eyes blazed with anger, he broke the door and grabbed the leader, Shawn beat him up along with the other of his men who had come to join in the fight. Shawn was most a boiling point as he grabbed the leader by his neck and was about to snap his neck and end his life when Hannah held his hand.

"That's enough Shawn or you might kill him"

He glared at the man, if it wasn't for Hannah he would not have released him. After much contemplating, he had to let him go and he ran like some coward with his men.

"Are you alright?" She asked even though she was frightened by his actions.

"Yes, are you alright?"

"Yes, I am" She looked at him intently and studied the lines on his face, every crease, today, she saw a different side of him that she had not seen before. Not that they had been married for too long for her to see anything, but she wondered what he would have done if she had not stopped him from snapping that Man's neck.

As if he sensed why she looked at him, he was about to say something when four of the neighbors who had seen it all hurried over to him.

"Are the both of you alright?" They were concerned and Shawn nodded his head.

"Yes, we are".

"It is a good thing that you fought off those thugs but we know how they are in this town, it is as if they run the town, every quarter is being dominated by them, those people were not to be trifled, they will come back for revenge" "She is right you know" Another of their neighbour added.

"What do we do then?" Shawn asked.

"You have to leave immediately or they will come back for you or your wife and they will want revenge, you know how this kind of thing ends, don't you?"

Shawn already planned to leave this place but he had only one problem, he glanced at her as their neighbours departed.

"So what's the plan?"

"What plan?"

"Are you coming with me?"
