Chapter 66: He is my wolf II

"Not yet" Shawn looked into her eyes and realised that she was coming around, it was only a matter of time before he finally proved that they were meant to be together and she would see that he had been her mate all along. "then when?" she was desperate to get to the bottom of everything and figure out why he had transformed into a werewolf before her. She was glad she had seen his wolf and knew what he looked like but then she wanted to know why it happened. "didn't realize it?"

"Realize what?"

"you couldn't send my wolf, could you?"

Hannah opened her mouth, but on a second thought I closed it back, she had nothing to say as the words could not even fall out of her mouth. She had not noticed it earlier and did not take a second look at it, all she knew was that she had seen a beautiful wolf before her and had admired it before it went back to his master, however, now that he brought it up, she seemed to realize that all along She never perceived his scent, and that was unlikely for a werewolf, especially for an Alpha. His scent would have been so conspicuous that she would have quickly wondered what was lingering in her nose if he was her mate and if she was a werewolf, it wouldn't be as strong as a mate's to recognize another mate's scent, but then she has not felt any of them, and her escape from her mind that she was supposed to have perceived his scent.

"what? did you notice it?"

"Now that you mentioned it, I didn't notice it at all until now. why is that so?"

"Because I hid my sent away" Shawn stated, matter-of-factly, and how they shook her head. She had never realized that, I never thought that was possible. though she had heard that some werewolves hide their scent, it was only for a good reason, nevertheless, some still hide their scent from their mate because of their selfish reason, but Shawn wasn't like that. even though she did not know the actual reason why he had hidden he sent away, she could sense that it was only for a good cause and he did not mean to harm anyone especially not her. Shawn was not an evil person but an honorable man and an Alpha who would do anything to protect the people that he cared about, she may not have known him for long but from the little time she spent with him, she could tell that he cares about her in a way that no one else has.

"You hide your sent away? is that it?"

Shawn nodded his head, he did not want to lie to her or deceive her also, the only thing he could do was tell her the truth. they've come too far for him to go back, and lying was not something that he wanted to do in this situation. She denied him as his mate and if he dared to lie about anything it was possible that she would never forgive him. he did not want that, she was the one that the moon goddess had ordained for him and he was going to do everything to make sure that she learns the truth and not be deceived. he hated it when someone tried to deceive him and lie to him. Shawn would not want to do that to someone else, especially to Hannah, it would break her heart and she would begin to hate him. The relationship was not all Rainbows and unicorns but he doesn't want it to be just like Mike's. when he realized that she was the one, he promised himself that he was going to be different and better than anyone else in her life, he was going to make sure that he filled up the emptiness and void that she had been feeling for a long time, that space that no one else has occupied other than her mother was going to be filled up and he was determined to prove all that to her.

"Yes you are you're right, other than taking up an identity that is not mine and staying in a town that is not mine, I also had to hide the fact that I was a werewolf who had found his mate, and so the only way that I could do that was to hide my scent until my wolf recovers, it was injured and I could not risk all that and risk putting you in harm's way."

confusion cast up on her face as she ran her hand to her hair, they've only met just now how could he have thought about putting her in harm's way when she didn't even remember him, she was sure that she hadn't seen him anyway if she has, she wouldn't have forgotten such a handsome figure like him. Not that she would forget someone else, she wouldn't, But Shawn would have been different since he had an amazing smile and a wonderful personality, something she had not seen in a long time. if you want around her all along, a lot of women will be after him and she might not have been the one who he would have ended up marrying.

"putting me in harm's way? how would you have put me in harm's way when we've only just met? I did not know you in the past, but I wished I knew you, and you are not someone who I have met before, right?" she asked because she was not even quite sure herself anymore. Shawn was different but he also knew a lot about her than anyone else around her.

"What do you think?" she did not intend to make this any difficult for her, but he wished she would just figure it out even if it was a little.

"I don't know what to think, but I think that we've not met before like I said I would have recognized you"

"how would you have recognized me if you cannot recognize me right now? I hid my scent away"

"So tell me, have we met before?"
