D*mn it. How could I forget about that dangerous man? He might not do anything to Shannon if she falls into his hand, but she might drive herself to insanity instead.

Bailey knew that Micah's name was a nightmare Shannon could not escape. After all, he had something to do with both her crippled arm and her perished child.

“Prepare a private jet for me. I'm going to use it after one hour.”

“Got it, Ms. Bailey.”

Bailey then hung up and gave Veikko a call.

“Veikko, listen. Micah may have found your whereabouts. I'm going to head to Springwyn right away. Do not act recklessly, and make sure Shannon doesn't notice anything wrong. Do you understand?”

“Yes.”

After putting down her phone, Bailey got up from the bed in a hurry and dressed without much thought. Then she got her phone and car keys and headed out.

She tried to call Artemis, but his phone had been turned off.

Upon giving it a thought, she phoned Zayron and told him about the situation so he could pass the message on to Artemis.

“Okay, I got it. Take care and come home early, Bailey.”

When Artemis found out that Bailey was leaving Hallsbay, her private jet had already flown out of the country.

He thought of going after her, but a text message from Bailey arrived at that moment.

It read: Micah is your sworn brother, so he won't do anything to me. Don't follow me here as I don't want to see you stuck in a dilemma. Stay put and deal with the rumor that's all over Hallsbay, then wait for me to come home.

Artemis couldn't help but snort after he finished reading the text.

She just left like that, huh? Will it hurt to wait for me for an hour or two?

If it weren't for the fact that Bailey had given herself over to him, he would have ordered the entire Tarragon to get in her way.

After all, it was embarrassing to have his woman escape right under his nose.

“Mr. Luther, is the rumor being circulated out there true?”

“Mr. Luther, are you really going to have an affair with Mr. Simon's woman?”

“Mr. Luther, it's immoral to covet your sister-in-law. Aren't you scared of suffering a guilty conscience?”

“Mr. Luther, Ms. Jefferson hasn't shown up for the past two days. It's as if she disappeared without a

trace. Where is she right now? Are you hiding her somewhere?”

Outside the parking lot of Luther Group, Artemis was ambushed by a group of reporters.

As he looked at the cameras flashing in his face, a murderous look flickered across his cold eyes.

These f*cking flies are here again.

“Ken, deal with them. Beat them up and ditch them in the hospital.”

“Got it.”

With a few bodyguards surrounding him, Artemis walked speedily toward the elevator. At the same time, wails of pain sounded behind him.

Serves them right. I didn't go after them even when they published those nasty articles in my territory because I was being nice. How dare they test my patience and cause trouble right in front of me? Do they think I'm a pushover just because I've been inactive for a period of time?

When Artemis entered his office on the top floor, the first thing he saw was Zoey sitting on the couch.

“Why are you here?”

Right after he blurted that question out, his face darkened as he remembered something.

“Were you the one who called those reporters over?”

Zoey was initially grinning, but her smile faded when she heard Artemis' question.

“A-Artemis, what do you mean by that? What reporters? I-I didn't do anything.”

Artemis couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

So she enjoys putting on an act, huh? Then I'll play along with her.

“Nothing, I was just confused. Don't take it to heart. What brings you here today?”

Zoey heaved a sigh of relief at that.

I thought he found out that I was the one who spread the rumor. I was so careful about it, so there's no way I would get caught!

“I-I heard about the rumor, so I thought of visiting you. Artemis, are you and Bailey—”

“We broke up,” uttered Artemis before striding toward his desk.

They broke up?

Zoey was so overjoyed that she couldn't hide the spark in her eyes.

So Artemis dumped Bailey? Does that mean I've succeeded?

“Artemis, you... you really broke up with Bailey?”

Humming in acknowledgment, Artemis said, “Don't bring this matter up anymore. It disgusts me.”

Zoey hurriedly approached him as she suggested, “Since you've broken up with Bailey, why don't we confirm our relationship?”

Suddenly, Artemis turned around and looked at her with an unreadable expression. “What did you say?”

His abrupt movement surprised Zoey, who realized she was being too straightforward.

“I mean... I just think that it might be difficult to clear up the rumor that's all over the place. If you publicize our relationship, you can prove them wrong and spare yourself from the trouble of explaining to them.”

Artemis raised his brow and responded, “That's a good idea that we can try. I was actually worried because I can't come up with an excuse to shut them up. It would be great if you're willing to put on a show with me.”

Upon hearing that, Zoey widened her eyes at him in disbelief.

Am I hearing things? Did he just agree to my suggestion?

“Artemis, do you really agree to publicize our relationship?”

After giving it a thought, Artemis knitted his brows. “If I use you to stop the rumor, it might be unfair to you. Give me more time to think about it.”

“No, I'm fine with it,” Zoey voiced enthusiastically. “I don't find it unfair. As long as I can be of help to you, I'm willing to do anything.”

“I see.” Artemis stroked his chin as his eyes glinted slyly.

Since she's asking for it, it's not my fault for being merciless.

Even though Zoey was the one who leaked those photos behind his back, Artemis had decided to let her off considering the fact that she had once saved him. Yet now, she was asking for trouble by clinging to him.

“All right, we'll do that then. I was quite troubled about how to resolve this issue, so now that you're willing to help, I'll accept it gladly. You should go home first. Once I arrange the press conference, I'll ask you to attend it. We will announce our relationship there and give them a slap in the face.”

“Okay, sure!” Zoey chirped, her body trembling with excitement.

He agreed! He really agreed to hold a press conference and announce our relationship. Although he's doing this to clarify the rumor about him and Bailey, he has already decided to give up on her!

Just that fact alone was enough to pump Zoey up for days.

As Artemis watched Zoey leave, a mischievous smirk crept across his face.

He was actually going to hold a press conference and make her attend.

However, the announcement he would be making was not about their relationship but the true identity

of the three children.

Since Bailey wants to put the instigator to shame, I'll satisfy her. I'm going to make Zoey suffer humiliation in front of the entire world. So what if she was my savior? She could do anything to me, and I'll allow it, but she shouldn't have messed with Bailey.
