Zoey's face turned pale at that instant. She widened her eyes at the screen and couldn't help stepping backward.

A thought flashed across her mind.

She forced herself to deny that thought.

No. No way. There's no way that the child Rhonda stole back then was actually Bailey's son. No way!

“Ms. Shurmer, watch out.”

A staff member standing next to her noticed she was near the edge of the steps, so he immediately reached out to grab her.

However, Zoey was not in the mood for this. She shook off the staff member and looked at Artemis with a teary gaze. Her voice trembled as she said, “You... You did not hold this press conference to announce our relationship.”

Artemis' lips curved upward, but his expression had no warm emotions. Instead, the look in his eyes turned cold as he said, “To be exact, I am about to announce my relationship, but you're not involved in it.”

His words were like a bolt of lightning striking across the room, shocking everyone.

Zoey's legs gave out beneath her, and she slumped to the ground.

Then, camera lights started flashing wildly again in the room.

It was breaking news for the world that the Shurmer family's daughter was denied the chance to marry someone from a noble family.

However, they forgot that the press conference was broadcasted worldwide.

In other words, the entire world was already watching the press conference.

“Mr. Luther, can you explain this situation?”

Artemis curled his thin lips into a smile. The look in his eyes grew tender as he thought of Bailey.

Artemis nodded and smiled. “Don't you think I should marry her since she's given birth to my three children?”

She jumped and yelled hysterically, “You made up all of this. Artemis, you're lying to the public. You fabricated the DNA test results and took in your brother's children as your own to justify being with Bailey. You are a liar.”

Hearing that, the reporters looked at each other awkwardly.

Although they did suspect that, none of them had the courage to say it out loud.

Only Zoey, who seemed to have lost her senses due to her anger and jealousy, would dare accuse Artemis of that.

Artemis looked coldly at her and stated, “You can ask the Shurmer family doctor to run a paternity test to prove my claims. By then, you will know whether those three are my kids.”

She was again the center of attention in the room. To be precise, the whole world was watching her. She made a joke out of herself.

Artemis had never considered marrying her, and everything she did turned out to be the biggest joke she pulled on herself.

“Hahaha!” Zoey started laughing out loud, and as she laughed, tears rolled out of the corner of her eyes.

Artemis stared at her, but he was unfazed.

Perhaps that was the only way to make her wake up from her delusional thoughts.

Zoey had lost it. She sat on the floor and cried out loud.

Her life was ruined.

Bailey, that woman, had ruined her entire life.

She hated Bailey so much.

Anger enveloped her, but there was nothing she could do.

Someone kicked open the door to the press room from outside.

Everyone turned around to look at the door, and they saw a young man in a white suit making his entrance.

“That's Zeke Shurmer, the head of the Shurmer family.”

“You're right. It's Zeke from Lostaria. It is him.”

Under countless gazes, Zeke walked over to the stairs. He stared coldly at Artemis and said, “Mr. Luther, how cruel of you to treat a woman who saved your life like this for a woman you've barely known for half a year. Aren't you afraid of making the world think of you as a heartless man?”

With that, he bent over and picked up Zoey in his arms, saying softly, “Zoey, don't worry. I am here for you.”

Artemis narrowed his eyes at Zeke, carrying Zoey in his arms. A hint of complicated emotions surged within his heart.

She must be watching this conference through the live broadcast. I wonder if she will start overthinking after hearing what Zeke said.

“Mr. Shurmer, since you're here, please take your sister with you. I have never loved her, and I hope she will gain some self-respect after this and stop pestering men who don't belong to her.”

Artemis then started walking toward the door.

Seeing that the main star of the conference was about to leave the venue, the reporters immediately rushed to Artemis.

“Mr. Luther, can you share with us when is your wedding with Bailey?”

“Mr. Luther!”

Sure enough, as Artemis had guessed, Bailey was sitting on the couch in the mansion's living room and watching the live broadcast.

When she saw Zeke lifting Zoey in his arms and heard him telling Zoey not to worry, she picked up the remote control and turned off the television.

I guess he adores Zoey a lot. After all, they've lived together for so many years. Although not related, they must be closer than the bond between biological siblings.

She figured since she had taken Artemis away from Zoey, she could at least not drive Zoey to the edge by making her lose her status as the daughter of the Shurmer family.

Forget it. I'm only giving myself false hope to think about my biological family. I may desire to belong to a family, but they might not want anything to do with me. I might even trouble them if I appear out of the

blue, so why bother?

Meanwhile, in the bedroom at the Jefferson residence, Beatrice couldn't stifle an evil smirk when she saw Zoey looking haggard after being abandoned by Artemis through the live broadcast.

“Ronni, did you see that? This is why I didn't tell Zoey that Bailey gave birth to two other children for Artemis. We can only trigger her hatred by making her lose everything and fall from her grace. Just wait and see. She will charge at Bailey like a mad dog after this. One of them will be ruined in this battle.”

Rhonda smirked viciously. “I am looking forward to seeing them fight each other.”
