After letting out a scoff, Felicity turned toward her son with her brows furrowed and asked, “What's going on? Haven't you two been at Luther Group the entire day? How could this happen?”

Artemis glanced at his mother and said flatly, “Do you think Luther Group's that secure? There are plenty of people out there who are looking to harm her. After all, the matriarch of the Luther family and the wife of Luther Group's CEO are both extremely attractive positions. Those women would stop at nothing to jump at the chance.”

At that, Felicity's expression dimmed. “Then, you'll have to investigate this thoroughly. Although I don't like Bailey much, I won't allow anyone to harm my precious grandchild.”

Artemis said nothing in response to his mother's words. Instead, he made his way to Bailey's side and spoke with her for a bit. He then spun on his heels and left the room, saying he'd go collect the report from Justin.

In the study, Artemis leaned on his desk and scrutinized the medical report in his hands.

“Bailey took a wonder drug. What sort of harm will it cause her body?”

Justin was in the midst of printing some documents. He swept his gaze across the papers before replying, “It might cause menopathy.”

Menopathy? How would taking a wonder drug result in these gynecological diseases?

“Are you sure? She's taking an anti-abortifacient, so why would it cause such side effects?”

Justin threw the papers onto the desk, signaling Artemis to see for himself.

Artemis narrowed his eyes as he crumpled the papers in his hand.

“The woman might experience severe pain during her periods.” Just then, Veronique walked in. “Very, very painful cramps.”

Pursing his lips, Artemis queried in a low voice, “Is there no way to treat it?”

“No. The development of period pain due to menopathy is dependent on one's body. There are no medications to manage the pain, let alone treat the condition. One can only endure the pain. If the patient's significant other knows how to appreciate her, perhaps it might lessen her sufferings.”

The next day, Holden made another visit to Sunny Resort.

Holden leaned against his seat and looked at the man lazily. “Do you think I'd be sitting here if I don't agree to your conditions? All right, you've got yourself a deal. Tarragon's forces have largely withdrawn from Epea, and we'll also hand over the control of Zaewora to the Hoffman family. I've already done everything I should, so can you release my son now?”

Raymond certainly wasn't planning on letting Holden's son go easily.

The fact that Holden was willing to give in so readily showed how much he cared about his son.

Raymond could use Holden's son as a pawn to keep him in check and reap more benefits from him in the future. The older man would be a fool to let such a useful pawn go just like that.
