Mia had an argument with her younger brother, which later jeopardized her pregnancy. Andre was terrified.

"I didn't know I was pregnant. Cooper rushed me to the hospital. I didn't want to go, but he pushed me into the car. I thought I was just having my period. I truly had no idea I was pregnant. If I had known, I wouldn't have argued with Cooper." Mia said. "Mia, you really need some discipline." Andre said.

Mia laid down the law and answered, "I'm carrying your child now. Can't you wait until I give birth before you lecture me?"

Both Aaron and Madison arrived. Madison was only in her forties, relatively young among the crowd, but she was about to become a grandmother out of the blue. It was a bit hard for her to grasp, but her daughter had been married for over six months, so a pregnancy was only natural.

"Dad, mom, you're here." Mia greeted her parents.

Andre turned his head, saw Aaron and Madison, and then stood up. He said, "Dad, mom, did Cooper spill the beans?"

Cooper glared at everyone in the room, his face as dark as a thundercloud.

Just then, a nurse wheeled in a wheelchair to transport the patient to the ward.

Andre said, "No need, I can carry my wife."

Cooper stepped forward, shoving Andre aside, and said, "I should be the one carrying my sister to the ward. Andre, there's work to be done at the company. You should get back to work. My sister doesn't need you here." "I need him." Mia whispered.

After she finished, she received a disapproving look from Cooper. Mia hung her head, not daring to look at him.

Cooper walked over and lifted his sister. He was so thin that Mia was worried she might break his arm or that he might drop her on the floor. She raised both hands, pointing at Andre, and said, "Honey, I want you to carry me."

Cooper exclaimed, "I can't believe you could do this to me!" He was so angry that he put his sister down and stormed out.

Aaron quickly followed to check on his son, while Madison stayed with Andre and her daughter who were headed for the maternity ward.

Madison, being experienced with pregnancy, looked after her daughter and said, "Andre, go see the doctor. Find out what they have to say. I'll stay here with Mia."

Andre set his wife down, tucked her in, and gently comforted her. He said, "I'll be right back."

Mia nodded in agreement.

After Andre left, only Madison and Mia remained in the ward. Madison sighed and said, "I still feel young, but here I am about to become a grandmother. Mia, how did you almost miscarry?"

"I told Cooper that Andre's my husband, he didn't believe me. He called me lazy, stupid, criticized my personality, blamed me for how I do things, and even criticized the guys I dated. I couldn't take it anymore and had a blowout with him. Then the doctor said it was because I overexerted myself and got too angry. They told me to keep my cool and avoid getting into arguments from now on." Mia said.

Madison asked, "You've been pregnant for two months. Didn't you feel anything?"

Mia shook her head and answered, "Mom, I really didn't feel anything."

"You should have been more careful when your period was irregular." Madison told her.

Mia said, "Usually, when I'm on my period, Andre is more worried than I am. But lately, I've been on vacation, and all I could think about was having fun. I didn't notice my period didn't come."

Madison was worried. If her daughter was this careless, what would happen later in her pregnancy.

Andre got a brochure from the doctor and listened carefully to their instructions, taking everything very seriously.

Cooper had a long chat with his dad outside. If it weren't for the news of his sister's pregnancy, he wouldn't have known how much longer they planned to keep him in the dark.

Cooper felt a heavy weight on his heart. He was overwhelmed with sadness.

"Your sister didn't want you to carry her because she thought you were too skinny. You're still young, and she was worried she might crush your arm. Plus, she almost miscarried, she had to be careful. I remember when we talked about Andre before, you had a high opinion of him. You admired him. Having such a brother-in-law..." Aaron said.

"From now on, I've got no love for the Cedillo family." Cooper interrupted. They forced his sister to get married, to bear a child for the Cedillo family. He would never admire Andre again.

Father and son had a long talk outside. When they returned to the ward, Andre was sitting by Mia's side, his large hand holding his wife's, the other flipping through the brochure. He read it several times but was worried he might have missed something, so he kept reading.

Mia saw her brother's eyes were slightly swollen. She knew he was upset.

The hand being held moved slightly in Andre's palm. Mia said, "Honey, could you go home and grab me some PJs? Also, ask Leo and Molly to call in sick for me. I definitely can't go to school tomorrow."

Andre knew what his wife meant. He also knew he shouldn't be here right now. So he said, "Sure."

Andre left.

Only the family of four remained in the ward.

Mia apologized, "Cooper, I'm sorry, I fooled you."

Cooper's tears welled up in his eyes. He blurted out, "Why didn't you tell me before you got married! Even if our family went bankrupt, even if I couldn't go to school, I could still make my own money. Why did you have to use your marriage to help me? I can make my own money. If I can't, then even when you gave me the company, I might still go bankrupt. Why didn't you think of that? You always make decisions for my own good without asking me. You think it's a good thing, but you're putting all this pressure on me. You do this, mom and dad do this too."

Everyone in the room fell silent.

Cooper vented all his grievances, "Marriage is a lifelong commitment, you kept it from me, and I missed the most important wedding of my sister's life. You lied to me to keep me studying overseas, to move the company overseas. You lied to me, left me to study alone there. This is not a good thing for me! My sister is immature, so is her thinking. But mom and dad, you're in your forties. Why are you so immature?" Cooper asked, looking at his parents.

"You guys made her give up her own marriage to save the company, to leave me the business. How could you do that?" Cooper asked again.

Mia said, "Don't blame mom and dad. They were already prepared to go bankrupt. The marriage was my decision. Plus, I didn't marry the wrong guy. Andre treats me really well, he spoils me rotten." When Andre was mentioned, Cooper directly said, "You need to divorce him ASAP."

"That's impossible. I'm carrying his baby." Mia said.

The family of four had a long chat in the hospital room.

After Andre drove home, he found his dad and sister chilling in the living room, watching a movie. Molly and their dad had picked out a killer flick to watch together.

Leo was in the bedroom, glued to his computer, while Naomi was getting ready to head out. She was planning to get her hair done.

Andre went upstairs to the closet, grabbed his wife's favorite PJs and her go-to slippers, and stuffed them into a bag. He also prepared her water bottle, toothbrush, and facial cleanser.

He wasn't clued up about skincare products, so he shouted downstairs to his sister, "Molly, can you come up and give me a hand?"

"Sure thing, bro. Be right there." Molly said.
