Molly sighed. "If I listened to Mia, none of this would happen."

Leo massaged the bridge of his nose. "Stop worrying about it and focus on recovering in the hospital. I'll go see my uncle. Let me know what you want for lunch. Send me a message, and I'll bring it to you." Molly said, "Also, Leo, be careful. Tom has escaped."

Leo cursed under his breath. He thought this chapter was over, but Tom had escaped. The danger wasn't over yet!

That morning, Leo showed up at Cedillo Inc. He sat straight in Andre's office, not daring to be disrespectful.

Andre was in a foul mood, and even his employees dared not approach him lightly. He glanced at his nephew on the sofa. "Get straight to the point."

"Tom has escaped. Maybe you should bring Mia back home?"

Andre grumbled, "If she wants to come back, she will."

Leo said, "She went back to her parents' house because she was scared of you."

Andre slammed his laptop shut. Leo's heart skipped a beat, unable to meet Andre's gaze.

Andre turned to his nephew. "From now on, you are going to learn Taekwondo."

Leo protested weakly, "Andre, my bones are too hard now. They won't accept me."

"Then they can just soften you up!" Andre ordered. If Leo was incapable, he wouldn't be able to protect himself, let alone his family.

Leo cursed inwardly. Once again, he brought trouble to himself.

"What about Mia?"

Andre glared at his nephew, oppressive in his anger. "You want to interfere in my business?"

"No, I'm just saying. If you don't meet Mia today, it'll be harder for her to return to the Cedillo family. The Irvin family can't protect her as well as we can. If Tom goes after Mia, no one will stand a chance." After saying that, Leo quickly left the office, fearing a beating from Andre.

At the Irvin family, Mia received a call from Leo, "Hey, how are you?"

"I'm fine. Did you get beaten?" Mia asked.

Leo replied, "I escaped and I am staying in a hotel."

Leo scratched his head in the car, trying to mend the couple's relationship. He knew he couldn't just persuade one side.

"How are you feeling today? Do you want me to pick you up and go home?"

Mia was silent for two seconds. "I'm not going back."

Leo said, "Mia, don't be stubborn. They say a man can't stand solitude when his wife is pregnant. You two haven't been married for a year, so your relationship isn't that stable. Don't let it escalate. What if someone seizes this chance... My uncle has quite the fortune and status, so plenty of women are waiting to be kept by him. Don't let another woman seize the opportunity."

Mia was quiet for a longer time this time. "Let them seize the opportunity then. My son will take my surname." After saying that, Mia hung up the phone.

Leo was confused. "Did I say something wrong?" His unborn little cousin wouldn't really take Mia's surname, would he?

He immediately sent Mia a message, "Mia, what I just said is a hypothetical situation, not the truth."

Mia didn't respond. When Leo tried to call Mia again, she didn't answer.

With no other choice, Leo went to the hospital to bring Molly lunch.

When he arrived, only Grandma Aubree from the Byrne family was at the hospital. Coleen had gone to work, and Grandma Aubree was gossiping about old family stories with her granddaughter.

Molly was trying her best to remember the names of the people her grandmother was talking about. She didn't have a clear picture of these people in her mind, but her grandmother was so engrossed in the stories, she didn't want to interrupt. Luckily, Leo arrived. She finally didn't have to rack her brain on family stories anymore.

She wanted to eat bagels, and Leo brought two.

Grandma Aubree called her daughter-in-law, "Coleen, don't come over at noon. Leo brought bagels for Molly and me."

Coleen said, "Alright, I won't come over then. I'll be there in the afternoon."

Leo opened the lunch box and handed it to Molly. "Molly, I went to see my uncle."

"Did you get beaten?"

Leo replied, "Why is the first thing you guys ask is whether I got beaten?"

Molly took a bite of her dumpling, cooled it off, and put it in her mouth. "It would be abnormal if you didn't."

Leo thought about the extra course he was forced to take. "Never mind. Let's talk about Mia and Andre."

Leo told her about his morning. "What if Andre doesn't take the initiative and Mia, being as stubborn as she is, really doesn't come back home? If she doesn't feel threatened, how will she realize how important Andre is to her?"

Molly paused eating her dumpling, giving a "it's complicated" expression, frowning at her nephew. "Leo, did we get mistaken at the hospital?" She wondered, was she not a real Cedillo, or was her nephew not a real Cedillo?

Leo replied, "If you're going to chew me out, just do it directly. I don't understand when you beat around the bush."

Since he wanted directness, Molly blurted out, "You're as dumb as a rock. Even a dung beetle couldn't come up with your stupid plan."

Leo reminded her, "You can curse anyone you want, but be careful when cursing your own nephew."

Molly said, "I was being polite considering you're my nephew."

Leo was speechless. He didn't feel the politeness!

Feeling her arm was getting tired from holding her bagel, Molly put it on the bedside table. "If Andre finds out you're slandering him, you can kiss your life goodbye. Hey, you don't know the real Mia? If she find out her husband might cheat on her during her pregnancy, you think Andre would still be breathing?"

Leo blinked, recalling Mia's words, "She said the kid would take her last name."

"No kidding. She practically would lynch the poor kid's father."

Leo said, "I thought they would divorce."

Molly added, "It's more like widowhood. And quite a merciless one at that. She won't even leave him their son."

Leo stuck to his own thoughts. "Hey Molly, let's say there's some gossip about Andre, but it's emphasized beforehand that he didn't cheat. It's just baseless gossip. Would Mia get jealous, confront Andre, clear the misunderstanding, and then patch things up?"
