Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 905
Anya shook her head.
"Leo's off getting the car washed."
Anya looked puzzled.
Leo explained, "Can't take you without a clean ride, can I?"
A knowing smile spread across Anya's face. "Chad, I knew you'd come through for me."
Leo mused to himself, "If I don't take you to school, come afternoon, rumors will be flying about us breaking up."
"Well, wouldn't that mean I'd have a line of admirers?" Anya joked, picturing a queue stretching to the school gate, unaware of the storm brewing in her boyfriend's eyes as he stood silently beside her. Leo draped an arm over Anya's shoulders, and as the elevator arrived, he playfully guided her out by the neck. "Chad, you're about to snap my head off!"
Once inside, Leo blocked Anya's way, gently steering her toward the bedroom.
He closed the door behind them and locked it.
Anya was confused by this and was about to ask when she found herself pinned against the wall. "Mmm."
Leo, holding his soft girlfriend, nibbled at her lip, intending to give her a playful reprimand.
But as his teeth lingered on Anya's lip, he found it hard to be rough.
"Leo, mmm..."
Before Anya could voice her question, Leo's tongue claimed her mouth, leaving her nowhere to hide in her own territory.
Holding her tighter, Leo realized he wasn't as innocent as he thought; being with his girlfriend, he couldn't resist teasing her. Their moment was interrupted by the ringing of a phone.
Anya, still pressed against the door, was catching her breath. Leo, with clenched teeth, pulled out his phone and saw the caller was Vincent. Anya glanced down, saw the name, and watched as Leo hung up, gradually calming down and letting go of his bewildered girlfriend. Leo tossed the keys on the table, turned around, and grabbed a glass to pour Anya some water.
He added a couple of chamomile tea bags to his own glass to cool his nerves.
Anya remained obediently by the door, not moving an inch.
After pouring the water, Leo added two spoonfuls of honey to her glass, asking casually, "So, thinking about admirers, huh?"
Anya immediately understood Chad's earlier possessive behavior.
She shook her head, "No, just joking around."
Leo pointed to the bed, "Take a seat."
Anya complied, sitting where Leo pointed. He settled on a stool in front of her, handed her the honey water, and began, "Anya, your thoughts haven't been the purest lately, you know? Kissing other guys behind my back is one thing, but dreaming about a line of admirers?"
Anya was taken aback, "Chad, what are you talking about? Who did I kiss? Don't accuse me."
"Henry, is he a guy or not? Didn't I tell you not to kiss him, yet you did?" Leo snapped.
Anya's cheeks flushed with anger. "Chad, you're being ridiculous."
Leo sipped his cooling tea, trying to rein in his temper. "I'm being ridiculous? Come on, spill it. What's on your mind? One boyfriend outside, another at home, and one more at school?" Anya looked confused again, "What's that supposed to mean, Chad?"
"One boyfriend outside, that's me; keeping a kid at home, little chubster; and hooking another at school, unknown."
Anya stood up, fuming, "Chad, your thoughts aren't pure."
"How am I not pure? I'm the purest."
"If you're so pure, what were your hands doing when you were kissing me earlier?"
Leo was caught off guard, his voice softened, guilt creeping in. "We're talking about thoughts here, why bring that up?" Anya swapped her honey water with Leo's cooling tea, taking several sips before handing him the empty cup.
Leo looked at the empty cup, then at Anya, "Your mindset needs adjusting."
Anya turned her head, annoyed, while Leo leaned back in his chair, exasperated. "Come on over, let's get to studying."
He pushed off from the floor, sliding his chair to the desk. Beside his black chair was a pink one, specially bought for Anya.
The desk was covered with girly
items. Anya wasn't computer savvy, but she loved decorating her laptop with stickers she ordered online, sending them directly to Leo's place. In the evenings, while Leo studied, Anya would cut and place stickers, dressing her laptop.
Leo noticed her laptop covered in cute stickers, something he couldn't quite understand as a straight guy but didn't dare comment on. If he did, she'd say, "Chad, want some
stickers too? I can get you some."
Leo almost hid his laptop.
Anya's desk, too, was covered in stickers over time.
Leo chose to overlook it.
"Starting sophomore year soon. Pass the English Level 4 exam this year."
Anya: "And if I can't?"
"If you can't, you still have to. You and Mia are teaming up this year. She's aiming for grad school, so passing the basic Level 4 is essential. Without it, what school would want her?"
Their earlier spat was quickly forgotten by Anya, "Chad, didn't you say your aunt said the exam was a breeze? Why is it hard to get into school with poor English?"
Leo took a deep breath, speaking with mock seriousness, "I thought only Mia and Molly were clueless, but turns out I've got a little fool at home too."
"Fool" Anya blinked, "What did I do now?"
The morning Anya started school was overcast. As Leo pulled up to the house, a light drizzle began.
Anya's school started on the 2nd, Mia was heading to a study program on the 3rd.
As Anya headed out, Naomi, like a fretful mom, called out, "Anya, it's raining, take an umbrella and jacket, don't catch a cold."
Just as Anya reached the door, her great-aunt stopped her, stuffing a thick coat into her backpack, satisfied only then to let Anya leave.
Leo was used to his mom's doting ways by now.
Mia, meanwhile, struggled to get up, seeing the gloomy weather, perfect for more sleep. She quickly crawled back under the covers, pulling them over Henry's little face, "Stay in bed with mommy." Andre was worried; she was supposed to start at the study program for her grad exams tomorrow, yet showed no hurry.
Henry, already awake, snuggled in the crook of her arm, sipping formula from his bottle. His skin was soft and tender, feeling refreshed in the morning air. Holding Henry in the early hours was the best.
His mom was under the blanket, and
Henry, done with his bottle, began wiggling until his little face peeked out. He rolled over, found his bottle on the bed, and after a little tumble, snuggled back into his mom's arms to continue sipping his formula.
Andre watched the lively little bundle, couldn't resist picking him up, and placed him in a walker to let him explore with the same enthusiasm.
