Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 939
After Jade finished cooking pasta, she realized the bowl was too hot to handle. So, she followed Chad around the house, showering him with sweet words and cheekily confessing, "Bro, I love you. Please, the bowl's too hot, and my skin is just too delicate." Chad, rolling his eyes but smiling, carried the hot bowl for her. Jade took the opportunity to give him a quick peck on the cheek, "Bro, you're my favorite."
Chad playfully tapped her on the arm, "Keep it appropriate, I'm your brother."
"...Doesn't this sound just like something Molly would pull?" Coleen chimed in, ready to share a comedy reel of Molly's kitchen disasters whenever her kids came up in conversation. "If she went into the kitchen now, she probably wouldn't even know how to turn on the stove."
Kendrick chuckled, "Chad's got himself to blame for letting her get away with it all. But hey, at least our daughter found herself a good guy." Sure, their son didn't land a wife who'd win any domestic awards, but Chad was smitten with Molly, quirks and all.
With Molly out of the room, Hansen seized the chance to ask his son-in-law, "Chad, what exactly do you see in Molly?"
Everyone turned their attention to Chad, the picture of strength and honesty, while upstairs, Molly cracked her door open just a bit.
Her phone buzzed, a message from a friend: "Listen in on the chat downstairs; you might get a nice surprise."
Whenever Molly's name came up, Chad couldn't help but smile before speaking, "I love her, every bit of her. In the world I've created for her, she can be whimsical, proud, finicky, and a bit of a troublemaker... Even when things are wrong, she's still my number one; truth comes second. Science can explain a lot, but not everything, especially not human emotions. I can't explain why, but she's the one."
From the beginning, he couldn't resist spoiling her, finding happiness in her smiles. His love was unconditional, favoring her always, growing into a mature love over time.
Hansen summed it up with a smirk, "He's head over heels, plain and simple."
Eavesdropping, Molly muttered, "...Anya, pack your bags; we're crashing at the Cedillos for a few days."
Anya was taken aback, "Auntie, what's with the sudden change?"
"I'm going back to give grandpa a hard time, show him how smart it was to bring me into this world."
The living room settled into a quiet lull, the adults chatting without Henry's usual cries. When they glanced over, Henry was peacefully asleep on his dad's chest.
He slept, and once again, the Byrnes couldn't help but marvel at him, finding him so adorable they just wanted to hug and kiss him.
Later that afternoon, when the Cedillos headed back, Molly stayed behind, her pregnancy making her drowsy. By the time they left, she was napping again.
Before they left, Chad asked Anya for some tips to ease morning sickness. Anya, full of wisdom, advised, "Keep meals low in oil, salt, and spices. Eat little but often, take walks, breathe in fresh air, and keep meals light. That's all I've got, Uncle." Chad thanked her, and Anya modestly shook her head, feeling she hadn't done much, just shared what she learned from looking after her mom.
Anya then headed downtown to meet her boyfriend.
Naomi and Bruce hit the mall, shopping for new clothes for their son.
Hansen decided to visit Harry, while Andre and his family went to the Irvins.
When Molly woke up, she felt a bit regretful, "Grandpa dodged a bullet this time, but once I'm feeling better, I'll head back."
Chad took her to the park for some fresh air.
Hearing about Molly's bad morning sickness, Leo swung by the Byrnes after work.
Seeing her looking drained, Leo joked, "Now you finally look like a real mom-to-be."
He left a bag of hawthorn behind, not really explaining why, but Molly felt touched. "I brought hawthorn for Mia when she had morning sickness, and Leo must think it helps with nausea." Anya had just jumped one hurdle when another popped up.
Leo announced, "I signed you up for Level 4 exams."
Anya was stunned, her exams just ended and she hadn't even had time to relax, "Chad!"
Leo added, "Mia's taking the exam with you this time."
Anya rushed home to confirm with her aunt, who was studying on the steps, "Auntie, did you sign up too?"
Mia laughed it off, "Leo's just pulling your leg, I didn't sign up."
Andre appeared with their sleepy baby in his arms, "Mia, you're signed up."
Mia was floored, "Honey, who did this?!"
"Cooper."
When Mia tried messaging her brother, it bounced back: The message was sent but rejected by the recipient.
Mia immediately called Cooper, only to hear, "The number you have dialed..."
Mia had been blocked by her brother.
Staring at her phone, she vowed, "Cooper! If I don't get back at you, I'm not your sister!"
Anya later came back with two stacks of study materials, handing one to Mia, "Auntie, good luck."
Mia handed the books to her son, "Henry, chew on this."
Henry looked at the pile of materials, not sure where to start.
Since Henry started walking, Andre would practice walking with him daily. When he didn't want to walk, he'd hold his dad's finger, wobbling like a little chick.
But every night, as Andre went to pick up his wife from her study group, Henry would chase after his dad, crawling when he fell.
With October's chill setting in, the
nights came early. The crescent moon hung high, street lamps lined the roads like distant fireflies, illuminating the city's vibrant nightlife.
High-rises displayed changing videos, adding to the city's dynamic vibe.
Henry, bundled up in the back seat, holding his bottle, watched the bustling world outside.
At a red light, Andre turned to check on his unusually quiet son. He reached back, "Henry, shake Daddy's hand."
Henry placed his soft little hand into his dad's palm, smiling happily with two little teeth showing.
Andre gently squeezed his son's tiny hand, his love overflowing.
Because it was cold, and to save Mia the extra walk, Andre parked in the underground lot to wait for her.
When word got out that Mia had a boyfriend, e teased
trying to pry out details. But whi net
it
came to her "boyfriend," she stayed
mum.

Eventually, everyone stopped believing her, thinking it was just an excuse, and they jokingly dubbed Mia's boyfriend a mystery man.
Then, the next day, Mia strutted into class with a huge diamond ring on her finger.
