Sweet Redemption Chapter 23

Bianca ripped her arm from my grasp, and stormed off. I stared at the spot she had just left hoping she'd come right back. She never did. f**k. f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k!

That did not go how I expected. I thought that she wanted to keep things quiet until we were marked. Now she thinks I want to keep her in the closet with me.

The only reason I had never told my family was because I feared I'd have a male mate. It wasn't like I found men unattractive or gross, I just liked girls way more.

Because we were taught to save ourselves for our mates I hadn't really gotten to experiment. There was one girl when I was around 16 that I sort of did stuff with. The only person I had ever kissed, and I really really liked it. But I would never let her go further, it was why things didn't last between us.

Although, I was okay with that, she wasn't my mate so it was going to happen eventually. I feel like I only did it because I always knew I liked girls, but wanted to be sure I guess.

Still, I had never been with a man at all, not even a kiss. I didn't want to tell everyone that I thought I was gay when I wasn't even sure. Though now, after meeting Bianca I don't know how I ever second guessed my sexuality.

I knew that my family would be accepting. Hell, I do have a gay uncle who is mated to a man, and we all love him. I just didn't want to say anything until I had met my mate. Now that I do, I'm ready to tell everyone. The only reason I hadn't was because I didn't want to push Bianca.

My mate didn't even seem to want me back at first. Plus, it had only been a day. We hadn't even talked about being with each other permanently, or talk about marking each other.

Bianca and I are still trying to figure each other out, and I thought that was fine. We have forever, I didn't think she would want to move so fast. If I would have known, she would be baring my marks right now.

I thought about calling Dad. We were always super close. I'm even sure that he already knows of my sexuality.

Pulling my phone out I decided to dial Dad's number. If they're in another realm it'll go straight to voicemail. Clicking Dad's contact I put the phone to my ear.

Much to my disappointment, it went straight to voicemail. Tears filled my eyes as the line beeped.

"Hey Dad." I started trying to sound cheerful. "I, uh, was just calling because I miss you guys." I said, and then shook my head.

"That's a lie." I chuckled. "I mean I do miss you guys, but that isn't why I called."

I took a deep shaky breath.

"I, uhm, met my mate Dad. Finally." I smiled as more tears pooled in my eyes. "Things aren't going so well though. I'm.. I'm not sure what to do. It's only been one day, and I'm f*****g up." I gave a dry chuckle. "Uhm, I want you guys to meet her though. Let me know when you're coming home. I love you." I said, and then hesitated before pressing end.

Leaning against the wall next to me I let out another breath.

What should I do? Should I make a big romantic gesture, and risk Bianca being mad about that? Should I just mark her and risk that?

Ugh, I have no idea.

Acaisia, Ahkari, I want the two of you to meet me in my office now please. Tia said.

My response was quick. Be there in five.

I'm thankful for the distraction. Perhaps I can ask Max what to do. He is Bianca's brother afterall. If anyone can give me advice right now it would be him, or Robby.

It took me only a couple of minutes to walk to Tia's office. I waited outside the door for my twin to show up.

Finally after another five minutes she came strolling down the hall with Bou.

"Acaisia." I said her name getting her attention.

The way they were looking at each other had me worried they were going to f**k right there. As much as Acaisia tried to push him away I can see the hesitation in her eyes when she turned to look at me. She didn't want to part from her mate as much as I didn't. "I I gotta go." She said lamely making me bit my lip so I don't laugh.

Bou tucked her hair behind her ear before kissing her forehead. Awh how cute.

"Come and find me later if you want." He said before leaving.

Acaisia turned around to find me smirking at me.

"Shut up." She said before I could even say anything. "Let's get this over with." She said.

I raised my hand to knock on the door, but Acaisia grabbed the handle, and let herself in. I rolled my eyes at my twins back as she sauntered into the office. Acaisia plopped down in one of the chairs, and I took the one next to it.

"By all means, come in." Tia said annoyed.

"Thanks." Acaisia smiled sweetly.

Tia rolled her eyes. Max is standing behind our elder sister. He put his hand on her shoulder, and squeezed slightly. Probably sending her some calming vibes through their bond.

"We met with the Queen of Fae realm." Tia started. "Unfortunately, she has no idea what the worm thing is, or what other world lies within that cave." She said.

"How can she not have any idea? I know that things just recently started to get weird, but isn't the Fae Queen like... a thousand years old?" Acaisia asked.

I nodded.

"I have to agree with Acaisia. How does someone who has been around that long not have a clue about something happening in her own realm?" I chimed in.

"I don't know." Tia told us. "She is going to have a few of her people look through their own archives. Hopefully they can find something helpful. We sent the worm thing off to be tested and disected. Some supernatural doctors we know were more than happy to take it off of our hands." She told us.

"Do they know how dangerous it is?" I asked.

Tia nodded.

"They are aware. I believe they will be fine. Max and I are only a teleport away." She said.

"Anyways, back to buisness. I want you guys to go back to that cave, and don't stop until you get to that other world. If you can just teleport into it that would be great, but don't try that until you are in the Fae realm at least. See if you can find anything there that will give us an answer. Scrape off samples of that tree for me to send out. You'll leave tomorrow morning after Simon gets here. I want you guys to check back in after a week."

Tia looked between us, and we nodded our understanding.

"I'm sending Bou and Bianca with you guys. Simon will be your captain." She rushed out.

I smiled brightly. Yay, I won't have to be away from my mate for a full week. Even if she is mad at me right now, there's no way I could be separated from her for that long. Especially when I haven't even marked her yet. Acaisia on the other hand..

"I don't think that's a good idea." She said sternly while crossing her arms.

"And why is that?" Max asked, speaking for the first time.

Tia and Max are staring Acaisia down, waiting for her to answer. Acaisia just glared back at them unsure of what to say. I, on the other hand, saw this as an opportunity. "They're mates." I blurted out.

"Ahkari!" Acaisia scolded.

Tia and Max's face morphed into ones of shock. They stared at us with their mouths open. Acaisia groaned, and I just waited for one of them to say something. "Really?" Max asked.

I nodded.

The shock slowly fell from Max's face, replaced with a wide smile.

"That's great! They have mates!" He turned his mate around in her chair, and grabbed her shoulders. "The twins have mates! Not just your twins, my twins." He looked up at us. "They're mated to each other." He whispered in awe. Max looked between me and my twin.

"Bou has wanted a mate his entire life! This is great!" He said.

I did not miss that he didn't say Bianca's name.

"Well, I don't care." Acaisia said sticking her nose in the air.

Max frowned at her, but Tia stood up before he could say anything.

"Alright. Go pack and get some rest. We will tell the twins next. Simon will be here shortly. Acaisia can you stay so I can speak with you please." Tia said dismissing me.

I stood up, and fiddled with my fingers.

"Uhm, Max?" I waited for him to look at me. "Can I, uh, talk to you for a minute outside?" I asked.

"Sure." He nodded.

I walked out of the office, and Max followed me. Once the door was shut I looked around to make sure no one else was around. Students were walking around and hanging out since classes had just ended. I looked up at Max. "I knew it. I f*****g knew it!" Max said to me. "You're Bianca's mate right? You're totally her type. I didn't even know you liked girls." He rambled.

"Max stop." I held my hand up. "My Goddess you are really crazy over this." I said making him chuckle. "I think I f****d up. Things were... going okay I think. But then she found out that I haven't exactly come out of the closet yet, and she stormed off thinking that I want to keep her hidden, and I don't know what to do. I didn't plan on keeping her a secret, I just didn't want to push her too much." I rushed out.

Max smiled.

"Bianca has never wanted a mate. I'm surprised she even gave you the time of day." He said.

"She didn't at first.. I think that the pull was too strong though." I told him.

Max sighed. "All I can tell you is to talk to her Kari. We didn't have the best time in foster care. B lived her life in fear from the day she was born. No one takes her seriously back home. Trust me, I've gotten into it with a lot of them. She is complicated, and doesn't talk about her feelings much. Just... be there for her. This might sound shitty, but don't give her space. Bianca is used to one night stands. She's never had someone who's really cared about her. Show her you want to be around her. Go talk to her." He said. I stared up at him.

"That just leaves me with more questions." I said.

Max smiled.

"Good. Go ask her some of them." He pushed.

I bit my bottom lip.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" I asked.

Max nodded.

"Tell her that me, and Tia want to see her." He looked at the door and back to me. "I'll give you 20 minutes, but then she's gotta be here to be assigned her mission." He told me.

I smiled at him. "Thank you Max." I said.

"Anything for my favorite sister." He said, and then ruffled my hair like I'm five.

Smoothing my hair out I walked away from him. Leaving a chuckling Max behind me. I walked to the teachers dorms slowly. My stomach is a mess of knots.

What if she slams the door in my face? I don't want to push her too far no matter what Max said.

Walking down the hall of the rooms the Bounty Hunters were staying in, I waited until her scent was the strongest. The second to last door was hers. I faced the door, and took a deep breath. Then I reached up, and knocked softly.

A moment later the door opened revealing my drop dead gorgeous mate. She changed into an over sized deep red sweater, and nothing else that I can see of. My eyes trailed down her long, bare, tan legs.

Bianca's hair is wet letting me know she took a shower. Her perfect plump lips turned down into a frown as she stared me down.

My mate crossed her arms as she glared at me.

"Can I help you with something?"
