An impatient frown appeared on Larissa's face.

"If you need to vent about his suffering all these years, I suggest you find someone else. If you have any other intentions ... Kevan and I are already divorced. Whatever happens to him is none of my business," she scoffed.

For a moment, Dylan was tempted to expose Aster's identity. Gritting his teeth, he clamped his mouth shut as Kevan's orders resounded in his mind.

"Fine."

Larissa stopped Aster from running towards another ride as the sky gradually grew dark. "It's getting late. We should go home."

Aster was visibly dejected, but he replied obediently, "Alright."

Dylan followed after them.

At the exit of the amusement park, he saw an unwelcome visitor.

"What are you doing here?" Dylan demanded, a displeased expression on his face.

Sharon took two steps forward and stood in front of them.

Larissa recognized her at first glance.

Compared to their last meeting, her appearance hadn't changed much. Only her hair color had changed from chestnut to a deep maroon, curls tumbling down to her chest.

Due to the occasion, she wasn't dressed as formally as before. Sharon was wearing a plain T-shirt paired with high-waisted skinny jeans, accentuating her tall figure.

"I heard that my husband brought his mistress and child to the amusement park. I came here to catch him in the act, but I never expected to meet an old acquaintance here." Sharon chuckled and extended her hand toward Larissa. "Long time no see, Larissa."

However, Larissa's attention was fully focused on the word "husband."

Opening her mouth wide with shock, she stared at Sharon and Dylan in astonishment. "You two..."

Sharon finished her sentence nonchalantly. "That's right. We're married."

Larissa almost blurted out an expletive. She was completely caught off guard by the surprising news.

Sharon retracted her hand and taunted Dylan with a meaningful look. "You really disappoint me."

Behind his glasses, Dylan's eyes flickered coldly as he replied, "Likewise."

Sharon's smile froze for a moment.

Recovering, she turned to Larissa and said casually, "It was such a coincidence that we met. How about having a meal together?"

Frankly, Larissa and Sharon weren't that close.

Her first thought was that Sharon had invited her out of courtesy, so Larissa politely declined her offer. "It's getting late. We should have a meal next time. Aster needs to go to bed before 8 pm." Sharon seemed to have just noticed Aster, who was standing between Larissa and Dylan.

"Is this your child with Kevan?" she asked.

As soon as she said those words, Larissa and Dylan froze.

Smiling awkwardly, Larissa quickly explained, "No, he's a child of my best friend. I'm helping to care for him for a few days."

"Is that true?" Sharon scrutinized Aster's face for quite some time. "He looks so much like both of you. How could he not be your child?"

"That's enough!" Dylan interrupted Sharon's questioning and grabbed her hand. "We have to go home now!"

He dragged Sharon away in a hurry, afraid she might say something she shouldn't.

He didn't even have time to say goodbye to Larissa and Aster.

Watching as they walked away together, Larissa couldn't help but feel surreal.

She had only been away for five years, but it seemed like she had missed out on many things.
