Larissa didn't have a warm welcome for Dylan when she opened the door.

She stood at the door, showing no intention of letting him in.

"What are you here for?" she asked.

Dylan replied honestly, "Aster invited me to come over."

Larissa turned around to look at the little traitor in her house.

When Aster heard Dylan's voice, he exclaimed with joy, "Uncle Dylan!"

He ran over to the door happily and squeezed Larissa aside.

Grabbing Dylan's hand warmly, he dragged him into the house.

Dylan gave Larissa a helpless glance, but he was also a little smug about Aster's fondness for him.

Larissa burned with anger, but when she saw how much Aster adored Dylan, she could not bear to disappoint him and suppressed the impulse to kick Dylan out. Nonchalantly, Dylan plopped onto the sofa and placed Aster on his lap.

He tenderly caressed Aster's face and inspected the spots closely, murmuring, "What a pity! Why did you have to get chickenpox?"

Aster shook his head vigorously. "I'm totally not pitiful! Apart from being a little itchy, I don't feel sick at all! It's true!"

As he said that, Aster turned around and glanced at Larissa.

Larissa knew that he was trying to reassure her, that's why he said that deliberately.

Her heart warmed at Aster's concern and her cold attitude toward Dylan softened as well.

"Do you want anything to drink? We have juice and coffee," she asked Dylan.

The juice was for Aster, and she was going to have some coffee.

"Can I get a cup of hot water, please? My throat has been giving me some trouble these past two days."

With a frown, Dylan pressed his hand against his throat.

Although she found it troublesome, Larissa did not refuse his request. "Alright, then you'll have to wait a moment. I'll go and boil some water for you." As soon as she entered the kitchen, Dylan took out his phone quickly and took photos of Aster's face, neck, and arms.

Because of how close up those photos were, the blisters from chickenpox looked particularly horrifying.

He swiftly sent the photos to someone and deleted them immediately from his phone, acting as if nothing had happened. Aster had gotten used to his strange behavior and paid him no mind.

He already had an understanding with Dylan that whatever happened between them was secret, especially toward Larissa.

When Larissa emerged from the kitchen with a cup of hot water, she found Dylan and Aster around the coffee table, engrossed with some building blocks.

The blocks were obviously new, and the packaging had been tossed aside casually.

"Sorry to trouble you." Larissa placed the cup on the coffee table, close to Dylan. "Aster already has lots of toys, so there's no need to buy him any more."

Although Larissa and Wendy were frugal with themselves, they never compromised on Aster's needs.

Since birth, he had the best in terms of food, clothing, and other needs that were within their financial capabilities.

Their home in Westonia was filled with boxes of Aster's toys.

At home, Aster himself had several sets of building blocks similar to what Dylan had brought.

"Which child would complain about having too many toys?" Dylan put down the unfinished model in his hand and took a sip of water. "Besides, I came to visit, and it's my first time coming to your house. It would be impolite to come empty-handed right?"

What he didn't say was that these building blocks weren't bought by him. He was merely running errands for someone else.

In fact, in Kevan's house, there was a room dedicated to storing the wide variety of toys that Kevan bought for Aster.

The prices of the toys range from a few hundred to thousands of dollars, some of which even made Dylan envious. Larissa didn't say anything more.

Bored, she sat there and watched them play for a while.

"You two continue playing. I need to check my emails in the study."

Although she wasn't at the hotel during her days off, she would still work from home, however, the workload was considerably lighter than usual.

It would only take her one or two hours to complete her work.

When Dylan heard the sound of the door closing, he took out his phone again.

This time, he wasn't taking pictures, but recording a video.

"Aster, wave in my direction," he instructed Aster.

Obediently, Aster waved at the camera.
