Larissa split up with her assistant manager at the elevator doors. Her assistant manager followed her instructions and went to the lobby on the first floor, while she returned to her office on the topmost floor. Aster was probably tired from playing because he had fallen asleep on the sofa. Her office did not have any blankets prepared. Afraid that he might catch a cold, Larissa woke him up by patting his cheek. "Let's go home."

She saved all her documents before shutting her computer down. Then, she went downstairs again while holding Aster's hand. She had called the driver beforehand, so when they left the hotel, the car was already parked at the main entrance.

Larissa got into the car and was just about to shut the door when a hand shot out from nowhere and gripped the frame of the car firmly.

"Wait." Kevan used his other hand to pull open the door, letting out a faint, apologetic smile under Larissa's surprised stare. "I drank some alcohol and am unable to drive. If it's convenient, could you take me along with you?"

It was convenient as they lived in the same residential area. If Larissa refused, she might make her negative response toward him a little too obvious. So, she nodded and said, "Sure." "Thanks." Kevan sat in the passenger seat. He then asked in a nonchalant manner, "Didn't Aster go to school today?"

Larissa's heart skipped a beat. She was just wondering how exactly to answer this question when she suddenly heard Aster say, "Mommy and I went to watch a movie a few days ago and were nearly hit by a car. Mommy was traumatized and dared not to drive. She can't send me to the Academy, so she applied for leave for me, and even got mister driver to send us to and from work."

Larissa cursed internally.

This wretched child. Why on earth did he just say things out loud?

Just as she expected, Kevan's expression became rather grim. Frowning, he asked, "Nearly hit by a car? What happened?"

"That driver was probably drunk, and was not looking where he was driving, so he nearly rammed into Aster and me." Larissa downplayed the incident in a mild tone.

But Kevan did not believe it. If it were really an accident, she would not leave her car and give up driving, and she would most certainly not bring Aster with her wherever she went. But since she did not want him to know, he would pretend not to know.

"Have you made a police report?" he asked in accordance with what she said. "Drunk driving is illegal. Severe cases would even result in a conviction."

"No," Larissa said. "I was afraid that he might try hitting us again, so I did not stay there long, and I did not see the car's license plate."

"Oh." Kevan nodded. "That's a shame, then."

Kevan went to Dylan's home.

"Why are you back already?" Dylan was rather surprised. "Is the game all done with?"

"No." Kevan did not beat around the bush with him and held out his hand. "Give me your phone."

"What for?" Dylan asked even as he retrieved his phone and placed it in his palm.

Kevan tapped on his WhatsApp and made him send a voice message to Aster. "Ask him if he can answer a call now."

Although Dylan did not know why, he did as he was told.

Aster had just gotten home. He knew Larissa did not like it when he was in contact with Dylan, so he hid in his room the moment he got the message. "Mommy, I'm going to shower!"

"Okay." Larissa did not suspect him. She even gave him a reminder. "Remember to wash your hair! After that, go straight to bed!"

"Okay!" Aster shut the bedroom door and grabbed his pajamas before heading into the bathroom. Sitting on the edge of the bathtub, he replied to Dylan, "Sure, but I can't speak loudly." Kevan immediately called him.
