Larissa was stunned. She collected herself a few seconds later and glanced at Kevan subconsciously. He was also looking at her, seemingly waiting for her response. His gaze was intense, causing her to avert her gaze. She was more than willing to take her son to the movie, but she found herself in a predicament when it involved Kevan.

"It's getting late today, so ..." She crouched down, trying to reason with Aster, saying, "How about we wait until I'm free, and we can go together then?"

Naturally, Aster disagreed. "But I want to go today!" He resorted to tactics children his age would use throwing a tantrum. However, it was the first time he did that, so he wasn't very skilled. He looked funny when he was contorting his little body and making faces.

She couldn't help but laugh upon seeing that. Kevan chimed in, "We're already here, and it's not that late yet. Aster doesn't have to go to school tomorrow. So, let's just make his wish come true." Aster intensified his effort after seeing Kevan try to persuade his mom. "Yeah! Let's make my wish come true, Mommy!"

She couldn't help but feel relieved watching them both. It was a good thing that Kevan wasn't Aster's biological father. Otherwise, she could imagine how spoiled Aster would be under Kevan's influence. "Alright, alright!" In the end, she gave in.

Aster glanced at Kevan and winked, quietly making a victory sign. Kevan smirked and ruffled Aster's hair. "What a mischievous kid!" he thought.

It was summer break for elementary and middle school students, so many animated movies were playing. Larissa simply picked one and was about to purchase the tickets when Aster grabbed her. "This one is too childish." He furrowed his brows, clearly showing his disdain.

She couldn't help but laugh, seeing his attempt to act maturely. "Then, pick what you want to watch and buy the tickets yourself." She handed him the phone.

He then took the phone and turned around. After a while, he returned with tickets and the phone in his hand.

"Ta-da!" He proudly held the tickets in front of her.

She examined them closely. "Forever Love"? Wasn't this the typical teenage romance film?

"Are you sure you want to watch this?" she asked. She highly doubted if Aster even knew what he had bought. After all, he hardly recognized any words.

"Yes!" He nodded vigorously and said, "This guy is handsome, and the woman is pretty. So, this movie must be great!"

Larissa started to regret giving him the choice to choose-she thought he would pick an animated movie.

"Well, you might not understand this one." She wanted to say that the movie might be inappropriate for children but refrained from doing so because Aster did not even know what "inappropriate" meant. She would have to go through the trouble of explaining it to him. "How about we watch an animated movie? What about this one? "Robot Alliance"? It has good reviews, and both adults and children like it." "Robots are so boring!" Aster simply wouldn't listen. "I only want this!" He tightened his grip on the movie ticket and started throwing a fit, exclaiming, "I only want this!"

She was starting to get irritated, but she held back her anger since Kevan was present and they were in public. She agreed patiently, "Okay, then, we'll watch this. But don't leave in the middle of the movie if you don't find it good."

Aster's face instantly lit up with excitement. "Okay!"

Kevan bought popcorn and drinks, hugging them with one arm while holding Aster with the other hand. The three of them had seats next to each other, with Aster seated on the far end, Kevan in the middle, and Larrisa next to Kevan.

Aster was very content with such an arrangement. He couldn't help but stifle a laugh when the lights in the theater dimmed.

Kevan, who was sitting in the middle, held the popcorn in his arms, making it easy for Larissa and Aster to reach for it. However, ten minutes into the movie, neither of them reached for the popcorn bucket.
