Gradually, Larissa's colleagues recovered from their shock just now and whispered among themselves. "I never expected there would be such chaos within a prestigious family like the Rogers." In fact, their curiosity was piqued when they heard Lana mention Larissa's name.

"Mommy, don't be sad. Those who have passed away will always be with you as stars in the sky," Aster comforted her, repeating the same words that she had said to him before.

Larissa couldn't help but smile at his solemn expression.

She pinched his nose playfully. "You're getting too smart for your own good!"

Larissa wasn't in the mood to cook dinner, so she decided to order takeout.

Aster became increasingly worried when he saw Larissa slumped listlessly on the couch, staring blankly at the television.

He sneaked back to his room and called Kevan. "Uncle Kevan, please come over quickly. Something's wrong with Mommy!"

Kevan was on his way to Pine Mansion after hearing about the commotion that the Seymour family had caused earlier in the afternoon.

However, when Aster's phone call came, he immediately instructed his driver, "Turn back to my house."

The driver swiftly turned the car around.

In a gentle voice, Kevan asked Aster, "What happened to your mommy?"

He couldn't help feeling anxious as Aster's tone sounded like something terrible had occurred to Larissa.

"One of Mommy's elderly relatives passed away, and she's really sad." Aster's eyes welled up with tears. "She's so sad that she won't even cook dinner for me." It was evident how deeply affected she was.

The only elderly relative that Kevan could think of who had passed away was Roland, his grandfather.

During their phone call, Violet briefly mentioned Larissa's visit to the funeral.

Immediately, she realized her slip of the tongue and quickly changed the topic.

Kevan hadn't expected that Larissa would appear at his grandfather's funeral. Moreover, she was so devastated at his passing.

Ever since Larissa returned to Caldor, she had tried to avoid meeting him as much as possible and kept her distance from anyone associated with him.

However, it seemed that she wasn't as heartless as she tried to portray herself.

"I'll be there right away," Kevan told Aster, "talk to your mommy and try to cheer her up, okay?"

Aster hesitated for a moment. "But, it doesn't seem like she wants to talk to me."

Seeing Larissa in this depressed state, Aster felt sorry for her, but he had no idea how to comfort her.

"Uncle Kevan, that's why you need to come quickly! I shall leave Mommy in your hands!"
