Chapter 531
Larissa felt worse. She would miss Aster too, but there was no other way.
She took three days of leave and booked the flight tickets to Aldovia. Moreover, she had to deal with the handover properly before leaving and arrange tasks and assignments for the others to ensure that her three-day leave would not affect their work progress.
She also called every VIP guest of the hotel and informed them. "I will not be in the hotel for the next three days, so if you have any issues, you may find our assistant manager. I will send his number over later."
Gary asked her, "Where are you going?"
Based on the information he received, Larissa was a workaholic. When she was in Aldovia, she never applied for a single day of leave, working from the early hours of the morning until the late hours of the night. After returning to Caldor, she left work earlier than she used to and would occasionally apply for a day off or two, probably because she needed to take care of her child. But to apply for three days at once... that had never happened before.
So, he found it odd.
Having spent time together over the past few days, Larissa and Gary were closer than before. She did not hesitate to tell him the truth. "To send my son back to Aldovia."
Gary had also seen her son's information before. The kid looked like her, and it made him wonder if she was like that too when she was younger.
Whenever he thought about it, he would tear up.
"Is your son on holiday?" Gary asked again.
"No..." Larissa smiled. "I am planning to send him over to study."
Gary was stunned momentarily. "Then will you be returning to Aldovia too?"
"Yes," Larissa admitted freely. "My family is over there. I will definitely have to go back."
The mention of her "family" made Gary fall silent. His expression dulled, and Lewis was worried about him when he observed the changes.
"Going back is great." Gary finally spoke after a long while. His influence was all there, so he would be able to take care of her and her son. "My offer still stands. If you're facing any difficulties, let me know anytime you wish," he said.
Larissa had agreed perfunctorily the previous few times, so Gary expected this time to be the same. To his surprise, he heard Larissa's hesitant voice over the phone. "Mr. Logan ... I've recently ... really run into some trouble..."
Ever since returning from Pine Mansion, Kevan was so busy that he had no time for anything else the company, Grandpa, and Cody got all bunched together.
When he realized that Aster had not sought him out for several days, he called him in confusion, only to find that his phone was turned off.
He did not dare call Larissa, so he found an opportunity to visit in person. However, he rang the doorbell for quite a while, and no one opened the door for him. Kevan suddenly panicked a little. Larissa had walked away without saying anything once six years ago.
He was lying in the hospital then, and when he saw the message she sent, the moment of fear and panic was something he had never experienced before.
If it was not for Dylan stopping him, he would have abandoned his plan and chased after her to Aldovia.
He reached for his phone.
Due to his hand trembling incessantly from anxiety and fear, he nearly threw his phone down several times when he was attempting to retrieve it.
Having finally dialed Larissa's number, only a cold, robotic female voice responded to him. "Sorry, the person you're trying to reach is unavailable. Their phone may be turned off or out of service ..." Kevan gritted his teeth and slammed his fist against the hard wall.
