Soon, Jack called too. "We've found out where Ron is. Your daughter's with him."

Ron was temporarily living in a private house on the outskirts of the city. It was a secluded area, with farmland all around. The neighbors were all placed very far apart from each other, which was a perfect place to hide a person.

Jack had sent in a team to stake out the area nearby. They were to report to him the moment they heard or saw anything.

Kevan grunted in acknowledgment. "Thank you for your hard work."

"Not at all, this is what we should be doing," Jack said cheerfully. "Oh, by the way, about your grandpa—"

Kevan froze, his pupils dilating. "Yes?"

"Roland's body has been cremated, so we can't perform an autopsy, which means we can't figure out how he died exactly. Although I really want to help you, I can't file a case based on your suspicions. As for Cody, I've used my personal connections to help you check. He did not exhibit any strange behavior before Roland passed. So ..." Jack did not say the rest of the sentence out loud, but Kevan already guessed it.

Even if Grandpa's death may be connected to Cody, he could not do anything to him because of a lack of evidence.

"I got it," Kevan replied in a low voice. He had plenty of ways to deal with Cody. But Grandpa... would have to remain in the afterlife now with his grievances, if he had any.

Kevan raised his hand and blocked off the piercing glare of the sunlight passing through the window as well as hiding the tears in his eyes from view.

Yet another production crew had wrapped up their filming and booked a restaurant at the hotel for their farewell party.

Larissa brought her assistant manager with her as usual to meet up with them.

The party was already halfway through, and the attendees were in the midst of drinking. The banquet hall was packed with the sounds of people as many moved between tables and seats.

Larissa and her assistant manager squeezed past the crowd and barely managed to reach the main table. There were many people coming over here to make toasts. The director, producer, and main cast members were already flushed from the amount of drinking that they have done.

"Larissa! Come, come!" The producer, Emmy Parry, waved heartily at Larissa before pulling her to her side. "Morgan and I are still going to shoot in Bartham for our next movie, so we'll still be staying in your hotel by then. You've gotta give me a discount!"

"Of course." Larissa smiled composedly while responding.

Emmy and the director, Morgan, were a married couple as well as business partners for many years. Morgan was quite famous in the industry, and all the domestic television shows he directed always had a high viewership rating. Reportedly, many A-list actors kept trying everything they could to join his films.

Morgan produced his own films. He and Emmy established a film production company where Emmy was the producer as well as the coordinator. Larissa had the most interaction with Emmy, so they gradually grew familiar with each other.

Emmy introduced Larissa to a few of the main creators of the creative team before helping Larissa out with the hotel business. "This is the general manager of Winston Hotel, Ms. Seymour. She's a wonderful person. Next time when you come to Bartham to shoot, you can find her for accommodation matters."

Larissa went with the flow and gave her business card to every person seated at the table.

Emmy was very hospitable, and when she got drunk, she became a chatterbox too. It was easy for Larissa to come here, but extremely difficult to leave.

Emmy chatted with her nonstop. "We're already casting for our next film. Currently, the male and female leads are Cameron Mills and Jenna Berry... Hey, do you know Yvette Xander? The wife of the boss of Cosmic Entertainment? She was pretty famous when she was young, but quit the industry and got married at the height of her career. Now that Cosmic is falling apart, she says she wants to shoot movies again."

"Yeah. I've seen the news." Larissa said, her expression remaining unchanged.

Emmy snorted lightly. "Kinda pitiful, to be sure. But no matter what, a pitiful person would be sure to have something detestable about them! That Yvette ..." She leaned closer to Larissa and murmured, "She used to be a domineering bitch in the industry and was contemptuous to everyone. Countless actors and actresses have been under her fire, including Morgan! At that time, Yvette jabbed a finger at him and insulted him for not knowing how to shoot films, so much so that he did not even dare to breathe. He was as pathetic as they come!

"Guess what? Just the day before yesterday, Morgan got a call from Yvette, and she was practically groveling to get him to give her a role! How the tables have turned!"
