Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1366 The Battle Beast

Darren and the others couldn't help but sigh at their situation.

Why were the others’ Archean beasts so eye-catching, and he and his companions were left with a lame turtle?

"H-h-help!”

Weber pleaded with his face pressed to the ground, nearing tears.

The turtle creaked back and forth and kept helplessly spinning around, but couldn't manage to turn himself over.

Darren rolled his eyes and released his god's power to finally turn the turtle over.

The turtle hissed at Darren, as if to express his gratitude.

Once Weber got the chance to get up, his face was all swollen.

"Son of a bish! My prutty face is ruined!" Weber slurred incoherently.

It was the first time that Sally and Beatty had seen him like this. They roared with laughter.

"Weber, what are you rambling on about?” said Sally, trying to choke down her laughter as she spoke.

"That god damn durtle! Pishin' me off like that! I'll make soup out of you!" Weber roared at the turtle angrily, and then activated his god's power to kick him.

Clang!

Weber shouted in surprise.

An immense pain shot up his leg. The turtle was unscathed, but Weber's foot swelled up so much it burst out of his shoe.

He couldn't help but keep howling in pain.

A few hours later, Darren and the others found that the turtle was not completely useless, at least. He could fly through the valley, but at a terribly slow speed

"Darren, this is going to take forever. By the time we reach our destination, we'll all be either senile or dead,” murmured Finley in annoyance.

"What choice do we have? Without the turtle, we won't know where to fly to." Darren was at a loss. "Well, why don't we just carry him and let him show us the way? That seems faster.” Lindsay's eyes lit up at the suggestion.

"You're right! It'll be so much faster that way."

"I don't think it's a good idea. It'll be so tiring to drag him along!" Weber objected.

"I think it's feasible.” Beatty also agreed to fly. It was five versus one, so Weber's objection was void. "Weber, why don't you carry him on your back?" asked Darren as he spun around to look Weber right in the eye.

Weber's face turned pale with shock and reluctance.

"You want me to carry him? Boss, are you out of your mind?" It was obvious that Weber now had a passionate hatred for the turtle.

"Well, since you said so..." Darren paused. "..then it's decided. You carry him. This is an order.” Weber's face darkened at these words, but on the other hand, the turtle opened his mouth, as if he was breaking out a mischievous grin.

They finally flew through the sky at an acceptable speed. Onlookers started to notice the group as one of them was flying with a turtle on his back.

A few more hours later, a wall of fire appeared in front of Darren and the others.

The roaring flames obstructed their path.

"Hiss!" The turtle began to shift and gestured for everyone to stop and do something.

"You mean, you want us to climb onto your back?" asked Lindsay.

The turtle made a slow nod, surprising everyone.

"Lindsay, that was awesome! I didn't know you spoke the turtle's language!" praised Finley, with his eyes shining with awe. Lindsay merely rolled her eyes in reply.

They climbed onto the turtle's back once again. By now, Weber was sweaty and panting from exhaustion.

The turtle carried them and flew directly through the fire wall. The scorching flames had no effect on them.

"Hey, this guy isn't so bad after all. He has strong resistance!”

Everyone finally found the one advantage of the turtle: he had no fear of fire.

After flying for a few more days, they finally arrived at a huge canyon. There, they saw many huge creatures roaming around.

"Look! The other people are all here. We finally arrived!” Weber shouted excitedly.

The others had been waiting for a long time by then. When they saw Darren and his companions arrive, they were all stunned.

"Darren, why the heck is your battle beast a turtle? A tiny one, too! Ha-ha!"

"This is hilarious. No wonder it took you so long to get here. You probably would've gotten here faster if you'd flown on your own!"

"Hey, Weber, why do you look so exhausted? Did you get into a fight or something?"

Darren and his friends blushed in embarrassment. They were cornered off from everyone else because their turtle was like a flea compared to everyone else's giant beasts.

"Turtle, why did you bring us here? Where everyone notices how embarrassingly tiny you are?" whined Weber.

The turtle peacefully closed his eyes and ignored him. Eallard then descended.

"Darren, we've figured everything out. We have been waiting for you.”

"Oh? Tell me what happened.” Darren nodded.

"To put it simply, the big guys who brought us here will become our battle beasts and we'll be riding them into battle. During this process, we can also communicate with the beasts and obtain some of their power!"

explained Eallard.

Darren and the others immediately understood what he meant.

"Who are we going to battle?" This was what piqued their interest the most.

"We don't know yet. Look over at that big stone gate in the middle of the valley. My guess is that our enemy is in there." Eallard then pointed in the gate's direction.

"Oh. So, what do we do now? Is there anything we need to do before the stone gate opens?"

"Of course, we need to communicate with our battle beasts! It takes a lot of energy to communicate with them, and each battle beast's communication method varies. We can't really share answers on that. Also, you'd better hurry up. We'll need to cooperate with each other to figure this task out.” Eallard then flew back to his group and began to practice communicating with their battle beast. Pondering Eallard's words, Darren and the others had a bad feeling about the turtle. Could he really be a capable battle beast?

He only had three legs and would fall over after only a few steps.

They had zero faith in him.

"Hey, old turtle, tell me, what can you even do aside from fall over uselessly?" Weber kicked the turtle lightly as he asked. He didn't dare kick him as hard as he did the last time.

The turtle turned around and simply rolled his eyes at Weber.

"How dare you roll your eyes at me! I'll have to teach you a lesson, or my reputation will be tarnished. Everyone, don't even try to stop me!" Weber was yelling as if he was actually going to kill the turtle.

Darren and the others stood still and looked on at the scene with interest. Why would they stop him? It was bound to be entertaining.

Weber rolled up his sleeves and faced the turtle.

Boom!

God's power cracked down at the turtle's head. Weber thought, "Your shell might be hard, but your soft head won't be able to withstand my attack!"

Bang!

When the god's power was just about to hit the old turtle's head, his head shrank back into the shell at a very quick speed. Darren looked on and nodded his head. It was a useful observation that no matter how fast Weber attacked, he couldn't manage to hit the turtle.

"Oh, no!"

Suddenly, Weber cried out. He saw his god's power was bounced back, and the power seemed to have been increased tenfold.

"Oh, my face! Not again!"

Weber got up from the ground, his face dripping with blood. It seemed that it was going to be swollen again.

Darren and the others’ eyes lit up at the scene. It seemed that their turtle was not completely useless after all. His skills were actually quite impressive.

"Oh, you're such a cool turtle! Can you teach me that move? Please? Please?" Sally quickly flew over and pleaded with the turtle like a spoiled kid.

In reply, the old turtle poked his head out from his shell, trembled slightly, and nodded.

Then a faint yellow light came out of the old turtle's mouth and flowed through Sally's body.
