Chapter 56-1

AMELIA:

Avoiding Dexter as best as I could was all I could do and sadly, Clara wasn’t in the mansion. Luna Aurora and the Alpha King had been absent from the pack for a few days too so there was no one to talk to,

I darted my gaze to the wall clock and it dawned on me that it was evening time already. I hated that I still had to be in this room and Dexter didn’t come to find me. Thankfully, a maid had brought something for me to eat as well.

Feeling the urge to leave the Mansion and go somewhere, I rose to my feet and instantly began getting ready. As I got out of the room, I refrained from taking the passage that led to Dexter’s room or his study.

I got out of the Mansion, but heard Dexter’s voice,

"Where are you off to Amelia? Don’t tell me you’re trying to run away again?"

I turned around to face him, "Don’t worry, I won’t try to run away and I’ll be back. It’s so suffocating to stay around someone who doesn’t want me. If there’s any trouble, I’ll call Clara to come pick me up by nightfall so you don’t have to worry about me." I uttered and began to walk away without allowing him to say another word.

I got out and began walking towards the main Street where I could get a cab to where I wanted to go,

Clara had told me once that if I ever felt this heaviness in my heart, then I had to go out and breathe a little. The pack had so many places to do that, and that was exactly what I was going to do.

The cab halted right in front of a club, and the loud music from outside made me let a deep breath out. I had tried so many ways to forget about Dexter, and right now, this was the only thing that I could think about. The only way I was certain that I might be able to forget about him by all means,

"Thank you," I uttered to the driver and began to walk away, heading into the club with my bag clutching to my shoulders,

As I got in, I headed to the counter first and took my seat,

"I’d like two shots please, and make it strong."

DEXTER:

Amelia was so much of a headache right now. I hated that she was so mad at me because I had yet to tell her about my feelings, but I had my reasons for keeping it this way,

As I watched her walk out of the house, I desperately wanted to call her back, but I held myself from doing that,

Thankfully, I had already installed a plan B if anything were to go wrong

As I turned around to leave, Daniel came rushing to me, "Alpha, there’s something wrong." He uttered, and I instantly turned around to face him,

"What’s wrong?"

"You need to see this,"

He handed me an envelope, and as I tore one of the photos inside it, I widened my eyes in shock,

"Come with me," I muttered and began to head towards my study room. I took a seat and began taking out all the photos from the envelope,

"What the hell?"

"These incidents were reported by members of the Midnight Moon pack two days ago and pictures of the dead victims were taken."
