AMELIA:
"What’s a pretty lady doing here all by herself? Do you need a partner to drink with?" A husky voice
questioned beside me, and I cocked my head towards him,
I was drunk but I could see him,
"Would you?" I uttered and he sat down close to me. From my bottle of vodka, I poured him a shot and watched as he gulped down everything at once. After the third shot, he dropped the bottle and began to stare at me,
"I’m guessing you must be troubled about something."
I really wasn’t here to talk but to drink so I didn’t respond to him. "I understand if you don’t want to share, but I could lift your mood."
I chuckled aloud hearing those last words that tears had begun to settle at the base of my eyes. I had no idea why I desperately wanted to cry,
When I didn’t stop chuckling, he arched his brows, staring at me,
"What is it? Is there something on my face?" I questioned,
"You’re crying." He uttered and I widened my eyes, using my index touch to feel the tears on my face. I sniffled after I realized I had just let a tear out,
"I guess. I really don’t know why it hurts so much. I should get used to the pain. No, after every damn thing I’ve been through with all of my other mates, I really shouldn’t be bothered about this too. I saw it coming, and yet it still hurts like crazy. I feel like I’m about to explode." This time around as I spoke, I allowed my tears to escape freely,
I wish there was a way I could lift this burden off my heart for good,
"Whenever I feel this way, I dance." I heard him say and I darted my gaze to him instantly. Strangely, the music began and I smiled. This was just the perfect timing.
"Your phone, it’s ringing." He informed me and when I realized it was Dexter calling, I rolled my eyes before turning it off completely.
"Fuck him," I murmured and rose to my feet. The stage was filled with a lot of exotic dancers and staring at them made me remember my past. The times when I would dance my heart out just to forget whatever I was going through at home. I swayed my hips as I walked towards the stage and with my black heels announcing my presence, I heard gasps from everyone standing, sitting, and having their drinks,
I held one of the poles and began swaying my body, allowing my long black hair to follow every direction my body went.
Beads of sweat rolled down my face and I continued to breathe loudly, feeling so much of the heaviness I was carrying in my heart lift itself off,
