Chapter 20-2

What the freaking hell was wrong with me and why was I acting this way?

I certainly couldn’t understand,

"Get out of my way. I murmured to him, without raising my head to stare at him. I couldn’t be more embarrassed right now,

He chuckled and it made me curl my fingers in anger. He was taunting me right now wasn’t he?

"Why are you laughing?"

"Did you look at your face? You look like a jealous wife, Amelia." He responded and as my heart thumped hard, I took a few steps away from him,

"No I don’t. I won’t be, bothered even if you fuck a thousand girls Dexter. That’s what the contract stated and I plan on respecting that." I uttered and began to walk away.

I couldn’t stop my heart from beating so fast and I hated it.

"We have to visit the hospital today Amelia, so get ready." He announced from the kitchen but I didn’t stop walking and heading towards the room. As soon as I got into the room, I slammed the door so hard and rushed towards the bed,

Why was my heart feeling so heavy just at the thought of what happened last night? I couldn’t get that lipstick stain out of my damn mind and I hated it so much,

My eyes darted to the phone in the drawer and I picked it up,

It wasn’t him. It couldn’t be Dexter who had gotten me this and I was certain of it. If it was him, then he would have talked about it earlier but he didn’t. If it wasn’t Dexter, then it had to be Luna Aurora.

For some reason, I was happy that it wasn’t him. At - least I would have no reason to be grateful for anything or think wrongly about his kindness because he definitely wasn’t a kind person and I hated him so much,

After a few minutes, I rose to my feet knowing I had to get prepared for the hospital. Hopefully, all this will be done and over in a year and I’ll be free to walk away from everything.

I sat down in the car in silence and since Dexter was busy with his phone, I brought out mine.

I didn’t spare him any glance until we got to the hospital and only stepped out of the car once it halted,

Leaving him behind, I began walking in until I got to the doctor’s office,

"Mrs Denver, it’s so good to see you again. How are you?"

"I’m great, doctor, good day."

"What about the pills, did you take them?" She questioned, and I nodded my head,

"I did."

"Alright, that’s great. We’ll check you first and once we’re done, we’ll take the sperm from your husband."

I nodded my head and followed her into the ward I had been in earlier while Dexter didn’t utter a word to either of us.

About 30 minutes later, the doctor walked into the ward with a smile on her face,

"Thankfully, your eggs are ready and good to go. I would like you to come back tomorrow for the insemination process. Is that okay?"

I nodded my head,

"Alright. You may leave now. We’re done for today."

She uttered and I rose to my feet. After getting dressed in my outfit, I picked up my bag and headed out of the ward. As the entrance door opened and I stepped out, I saw Dexter leaning towards his car just like yesterday, while all the ladies who walked past him kept shrieking at his looks,

Fuck! They certainly had absolutely nothing to do other than admire someone else’s husband,

Immediately our eyes met each other, Dexter ended the call and tucked the phone back into his pocket and I gritted my teeth in annoyance,

Why the fucking hell was he always trying to hide the conversation from me and always ending the call whenever I was close by,

It wasn’t like I cared. I began walking until I was just a few steps away from him.

Without sparing me another glance, he stepped into the car and just like before, I was expecting the car to drive off. I was expecting him to leave me behind like he had done before,

"Aren’t you going to come in?" He uttered and 1 widened my eyes, my heart fluttering out of my control and I couldn’t stop it,

I stared at Dexter with wide eyes and just this once, just this one time, I wished he had actually left me behind.
